With great power comes great responsibility.
'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' officially commenced filming in Glasgow, Scotland, on Friday, Aug. 1, and fresh photos from the set have captured Tom Holland, 29, showing off his spectacular new Spider-Man suit.
Although details from the fourth web-slinging installment are scarce, Holland appears to be wearing the same homemade costume that he donned at the very end of 2021's 'Spider-Man: No Way Home.'

Unlike the red-and-black suit he wore during the majority of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first three 'Spider-Man' films, or the Iron Spider suit of armor provided by Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark in 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Avengers: Endgame,' Holland's latest suit looks closer to those worn by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield during their respective stints as the witty wall-crawler.

Featuring the classic red-and-blue colors from the comics, Holland's new costume appears to include raised webbing, a reimagined and bigger spider emblem on the chest and a practical web-shooter on his wrist.
Holland himself teased the new costume on Instagram shortly before filming kicked off in Glasgow, and he also revealed the highly anticipated superhero flick's release date.
'Are you ready?' the 'Uncharted' actor wrote. '7.31.2026.'

As for the first-ever photos from the set of 'Brand New Day,' Holland's Spidey can be seen both with and without his iconic mask while shooting a scene atop an armored vehicle.

While it is unclear if it is part of the film or the 'Odyssey' actor is just being friendly, Holland was caught waving to someone out of frame with a big smile on his face.
Other photos from the first day of filming caught Holland picking at a wedgie, which was most likely produced by the 'Cherry' actor jumping and swinging around in his amazing new suit.
Besides showing off Holland's new costume, the pictures from the set of 'Brand New Day' revealed how the movie's crew went about transforming Scotland's largest city into Lower Manhattan.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' is set to pick up after the events of 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' and before those of 'Avengers: Doomsday.'
While Holland, his fiancée Zendaya (Michelle 'MJ' Jones-Watson) and Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds) are all returning, 'Stranger Things' star Sadie Sink and 'The Bear' actress Liza Colón-Zayas have both been confirmed to join.

'I think there's a promise at the end of 'No Way Home,' that for as sad as it is that Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, we are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland 'Spider-Man' stories, him being a proper Spider-Man,' Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, told Collider last month.
'Him being by himself, dedicated to saving the city, and dealing with – for lack of better terms – street-level crime, as opposed to world-ending events,' Feige added.

Holland himself revealed the MCU's fourth 'Spider-Man' movie's title back in March during CinemaCon 2025.
'I am so sorry I can't be with you. I am halfway around the world shooting a movie,' the actor, who was filming Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' at the time, began. 'I know we left you with a massive clip hanger at the end of 'No Way Home,' so 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That's all I can say.'
'That's all I've been allowed to say,' he joked. 'And I'm well over the hump of giving away spoilers, so don't be worried. I'm not going to do that today.'

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors It looks like the Spider-Verse is getting a lot more anarchy. Deadline reports that an animated "Spider-Punk" movie is in development at Sony. Daniel Kaluuya and Ajon Singh are writing the film. Along with making his Marvel Universe debut in 2018's "Black Panther," Kaluuya also voiced Hobie Brown, aka Spider-Punk in 2023's "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" and is set to reprise the role in the threequel "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse." Read More: 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Teaser Previews New Costume The assumption is that Kaluuya will once again voice the character for "Spider-Punk." So far, all plot details are tightly under wraps. Hobie Brown first showed up in 2015's "Amazing Spider-Man" #10 from Marvel Comics as part of an army of Spidey variants from across the multiverse in the "Spider-Verse" event. Hobie Brown, aka Spider-Punk. Hobie Brown, aka Spider-Punk. Marvel Comics Spider-Punk hails from Earth-138 where all the superheroes and villains include a bit more punk flavoring. There are, for example, punk versions on Hobie Brown's world of Captain America, Daredevil, Ironheart, and more. Instead of having rage as a catalyst, the Earth-138 version of Bruce Banner transforms into the Hulk by listening to a specific mixed tape. Of the many multiverse variants of Spider-Man, Spider-Punk has proven to be one of the most popular. Along with getting a prime spot in the "Spider-Verse" films, the character has had a number of his own comic book miniseries; 2022's "Spider-Punk" and 2024's "Spider-Punk: Arms Race." "Spider-Punk" won't be the only "Spider-Verse" spinoff. Still coming next year on MGM+ is "Spider-Noir," with Nicolas Cage reprising the role of Spider-Man Noir he first voiced in "Into the Spider-Verse." Unlike the film, "Spider-Noir" will be a live-action series. In 2018, "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" became what many name one of the best films in the superhero genre, along with pulling in $393 million. Its sequel, "Across the Spider-Verse," did even better, taking in $690 million at the global box office. "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse" is scheduled to hit theaters June 25, 2027. While Marvel fans may know him best as both Spider-Punk and W'Kabi of "Black Panther," beyond the Marvel Universe Kaluuya is best remembered for his Oscar-nominated performance in "Get Out" and his Oscar-winning turn in "Judas and the Black Messiah."
