Several other forwards have been linked - including Benjamin Sesko and Jonathan David - but Isak has always been the dream target. The Sweden international is also now very keen on the move - if his latest behaviour is anything to go by. Isak starts the process for joining Liverpool Liverpool's interest could be no secret at this stage - and Isak knows it. He first informed Newcastle that he had no intention of signing a new contract - with his current terms running until 2028. And he then stunned Eddie Howe by suggesting that he was ready to explore a move away from St. James' Park this summer. He was left out of a preseason friendly at Celtic and then declined to go on tour to Asia - citing a minor thigh injury. Since then Isak has been reported missing by the Geordies - with reports from various sources confirming he was training at the facilities of his former club Real Sociedad. And now it's been claimed by a reporter in Spain that Isak has now told teammates about his intentions to move to Liverpool. 'The player has already informed the club and the dressing room of his desire to leave,' writes AS journalist Edu Burgos on X.

Liverpool confirm new arrival
Liverpool have confirmed an exciting new arrival at the club from Manchester United. In the last decade or so, there's been a drastic change in fortunes between the two clubs. Manchester United were once regarded as England's greatest ever club side. 🚨2025/26 LFC x adidas range🚨 LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! LFC x adidas Shop the goalkeeper range today LFC x adidas Shop the new adidas range today! In the Sir Alex Ferguson era, it seemed like Liverpool had been left in the shadows. However, Ferguson left the Red Devils behind, and shortly after Jurgen Klopp arrived at Anfield to do what Ferguson had done to the Reds - knock United off their perch. In the subsequent decade, Liverpool have now equalled United's record 20 titles, and have a good chance of getting another one next season. Meanwhile, United were flirting with relegation last season and still look very far away from securing a league title again for the first time in over 10 years. It's now Liverpool who sit at the pinnacle of English football, just as it's always ought to be. 🔴 Shop the LFC 2025/26 adidas away range from 9am TODAY Now moves between United and Liverpool are still rare. Even at academy level, we barely see players and coaches making the move from one club to another. More recently, Ethan Ennis was a rare exception after he moved from Liverpool to United in a move that only time will tell whether it was the right one. Now, it's Liverpool who have made a move for a United man. The Reds confirmed the appointment of Simon Wiles, who had been working at United for close to a year. Wiles now becomes Liverpool's U18 head coach, replacing the the now departed Marc Bridge-Wilkinson. A renowned young coach, Wiles had been working at United's academy at U16 level prior to this move. He'd also been involved at first team level as a coach at Salford City, and therefore has experience in senior football as well. It's interesting to note that Wiles will have worked with Will Wright, who has joined the Reds from Salford this summer and who is very highly regarded having made his debut as a 16-year-old for Salford's first team in the FA Cup last season. It remains to be seen whether Wiles will work with Wright. The expectation is more that Wright will be with the U21s, considering he already has experience at senior level, but like Rio Ngumoha last season, there may be a few times when Wright will be needed at U18 level. Nonetheless, back to Wiles, this is an exciting and refreshing appointment. Liverpool have taken their time to make sure they get the right man in for the job, and it's going to be exciting to see how Wiles works with the likes of Joshua Abe, Erik Farkas, Josh Sonni-Lambie and many other young talented players in the U16 and U18 age-groups, who are likely to be playing for the U18s this season.

Liverpool's momentous Adidas kit deal is worth even MORE than we first thought
Liverpool have FINALLY unveiled their new Adidas kit deal. Arne Slot's side have been playing through the current preseason campaign in their 2024/25 Nike kits. The Reds have taken part in matches against Preston, Stoke, AC Milan and Yokohama F. Marinos in last season's kits but will be wearing Adidas when they play Athletic Club on Monday. LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! LFC x adidas Shop the goalkeeper range today LFC x adidas Shop the new adidas range today! Adidas finally take over from Nike The Adidas deal did not kick in until August 1 - with the start of Nike's five-year contract delayed back in 2020. Owing to the three-month suspension of football, Nike's deal was put back until after the season finished in July 2020. 🔴 The players have also been pictured wearing Nike training wear and apparel during the Asian tour - while the likes of Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong have been using temporary numbers. Things now look a little more settled - with Wirtz being given the legendary Liverpool No7 shirt and featuring prominently in the Adidas announcements. Adidas paying MORE than £60m reported The Reds were paid roughly £30m per year - minimum - throughout the lifecycle of their Nike deal. That figure was lifted by a reported 20 percent royalty payment on replica kits - which pushed the overall sums on offer to around £60m. However, Adidas will be providing the club with significantly MORE money - with the deal set to run for an unprecedented 10-year duration. According to various reports, the exact terms of the deal will remain confidential. There are bonuses on offer - depending on team performances and unit shifted - but Liverpool will be earning a LOT more than the £60m per annum from Adidas that has previously been reported. © LFC
