Real Madrid Block Transfer of Young Defender

Morocco World3 days ago
Real Madrid have blocked the transfer of Castilla defender Diego Aguado after head coach Xabi Alonso intervened, reportedly viewing the youngster as a long-term asset.
According to Marca, Aguado is one of the most sought-after talents from the club's academy. Several clubs have shown interest, including Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, who reportedly tabled an offer close to €3 million. Parma were also said to be in the running.
However, Real Madrid rejected all approaches. The 18-year-old is considered a key player for Castilla and remains firmly on Alonso's radar. The club is unwilling to part with him this summer.
Aguado recently signed a contract extension until 2029. He made his senior debut earlier this year in the Copa del Rey and is capable of playing both left-back and centre-back. He has become a regular in the B team, now managed by former first-team defender Álvaro Arbeloa.
Aguado is expected to continue with Castilla or be promoted to the first team during pre-season, with the club viewing him as a prospect for future roles. Tags: CastillaDiego AguadoReal MadridXabi Alonso

Mourinho Wants Brahim Díaz at Fenerbahçe – But Madrid Say No

Brahim Díaz is expected to remain at Real Madrid this summer, despite reports linking him with a move to Fenerbahçe and interest from Saudi Arabia. Turkish media recently claimed that Fenerbahçe were pursuing the Moroccan international, fuelled by his close friendship with former player Arda Güler. Fans of the Istanbul club stormed his most recent Instagram post with over 120,000 comments urging him to join them. However, Spanish outlet AS reports that Díaz has no intention of leaving the Santiago Bernabéu. He remains committed to Real Madrid and is in discussions with the club to extend his contract beyond 2027. The club values his professionalism and sees him as an important squad player, despite not being a regular starter. He is considered a reliable backup to Jude Bellingham and someone who offers depth across attacking positions. Meanwhile, Fichajes reports that a Saudi club has made a €65 million offer for the player. The unnamed club's bid reportedly surprised Real Madrid's board and is being evaluated. The offer could be tempting, given the depth in Madrid's attacking line-up. Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has reportedly told Díaz he is not in the starting plans for the 2025–26 season, according to Marca. The midfielder is expected to begin the campaign on the bench, but has been assured that all players will be given chances to fight for a place. Díaz played just 103 minutes at the Club World Cup and was left out of important fixtures against Juventus and Borussia Dortmund. He also struggled for consistent minutes under former manager Carlo Ancelotti. Despite that, the 25-year-old has collected six trophies with Real Madrid, including the UEFA Champions League. He also won a Serie A title during his loan spell at AC Milan. Díaz's current contract runs until 2027.

West Ham and Wolves in race for Amine Adli

West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen forward Amine Adli this summer. The 25-year-old Morocco international, who is keen on a move to England, is valued at around £23m ($30.9m) by the Bundesliga side. Adli won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal with Leverkusen in 2023-24, contributing 10 goals and 12 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions. However, his 2024/25 campaign was hampered by a broken fibula, which sidelined him for over three months. He returned in January but managed only two goals and two assists. French football journalist Julien Laurens reported: 'I'm told that Amine Adli is attracting interest from Premier League clubs. Wolves and West Ham are keen on the Bayer Leverkusen forward. He is keen on a move to England. His valuation is around £23m.' West Ham are looking to bolster their attack after selling Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham Hotspur for £55m ($73m). Wolves, who recently sold Matheus Cunha to Manchester United for £62.5m ($84m), are also in the market for a versatile forward. Adli, who has 23 goals and 24 assists in 142 games for Bayer Leverkusen, can operate across the front line and in midfield. He moved from Toulouse to Germany in 2021. Xabi Alonso praised the Moroccan during his time in charge at Leverkusen, saying: 'Amine shows hunger, intensity and he has that quality. If he can combine the lot consistently, we'll see what a good player he can be.' Leverkusen's sporting director Simon Rolfes added: 'Amine's very fast, has good technique, is extremely agile and skilful.' Both Premier League sides are monitoring the situation closely. While Wolves have struggled to compete financially this window, they are reportedly willing to allocate funds to sign Adli. West Ham, meanwhile, are yet to make an attacking addition to their senior squad. Adli, capped 15 times by Morocco, is under contract until June 2026.
