Welsh TV presenter Gethin Jones is making a career move and BBC Morning Live fans will see a totally different side to him
He's famous for hosting BBC's Morning Live alongside presenters like Helen Skelton and Michelle Ackerley but now Gethin Jones has landed a new job - and it's something completely different.
The Welsh TV star has been confirmed among the line-up for this year's pantomime in his home town of Cardiff. Sleeping Beauty takes place at the city's New Theatre this Christmas and the 47-year-old, who is rumoured to be dating co-star Helen, will be playing Prince Gethin. It follows his successful run as Prince Charming in last year's production of Cinderella at the venue.
He will be starring alongside BBC Radio 2 presenter Owain Wyn Evans as The Spirit of Pantomime and entertainer Mike Doyle will reprise his role as panto dame.

"We're thrilled to be returning to Cardiff with such an incredible cast. Gethin, Owain, and Mike were a smash hit in Cinderella last year, and I know audiences will be just as excited to see them bring their magic to Sleeping Beauty," said Michael Harrison, Chief Executive of Crossroads Pantomimes.
Stephan Stockton, Theatre Director of New Theatre Cardiff, added: 'We're delighted to welcome back Gethin, Owain, and Mike - three Welsh favourites who audiences loved so much last year - returning home to bring more of their joy, energy and star power to the New Theatre stage."

The pantomime starts on Saturday, December 6 and tickets are available from the New Theatre website.
Gethin's panto return comes months after he took part in another new challenge when he and Helen undertook a 24-hour skatathon for Comic Relief.
Afterwards an emotional Gethin, who had suffered a tumble, paid tribute to Helen saying: "You were amazing, you were incredible. She was just getting me through."

Meanwhile, Gethin, Helen and Michelle have enjoyed a break from Morning Live this week. Gaby Roslin and Rav Wilding stepped into the hosting duties on Thursday, June 12 when BBC Race Across The World winners, mother-and-son duo Caroline and Tom, gave their first interview after their triumph was broadcast on Wednesday night.
It didn't take long for Rav to quiz the duo on how they managed to keep their big win a secret from everyone including their friends and family.

Caroline admitted: 'With difficulty, real difficulty but we promised we would so we had to just not think about it too much unless we were together alone and then we would talk about it in secret.'
Revealing how she attempted to keep herself distracted, she continued: 'We tried to get back to our normal life as quickly as possible.'

British rapper Yung Filly has faced additional charges over allegations he sexually assaulted a woman while on tour in Australia. The internet personality, real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, appeared before Perth District Court on Friday. In March, he pleaded not guilty to three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, one of strangulation and four counts of sexual penetration without consent. During his initial court hearing in October, Barrientos was granted bail with strict conditions and a personal undertaking of 100,000 Australian dollars (£52,000), alongside a surety of the same amount, the PA news agency understands. Court documents revealed Barrientos pleaded guilty to a reckless driving charge on December 5. The social media star was clocked driving at more than 96mph on the Roe Highway near the Perth suburb of High Wycombe on November 17. Barrientos has appeared on several BBC shows and is known for collaborating with the YouTube collective Beta Squad. The rapper, who was on tour in Australia, has appeared for England on Soccer Aid and The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer on Channel 4. Among his other shows, he hosted BBC series Hot Property and Munya And Filly Get Chilly with comedian Munya Chawawa, a spin-off show of Freeze The Fear With Wim Hof. Neil Forsyth, who pens the drama, expertly weaves together real events and imaginative storytelling in this final chapter of the series. Just like in the first instalment, viewers are greeted with a disclaimer before each episode, which highlights the dramatic embellishments for storytelling purposes. The narrative for the BBC's latest series is spurred on by a host of new characters, some crafted purely for narrative momentum. However, his luck takes a turn after working for Charlie and involving his old university mate Logan. Reflecting on the complex character crafted by Forsyth, actor McGuire expressed: "It was so exciting to come in and be part of the second half. Sally Bretton has portrayed Humphrey Goodman's fiancée, Martha Lloyd, since 2017 Sally Bretton, famed for her stint as Martha Lloyd on the much-loved BBC series Death in Paradise and its spin-off Beyond Paradise, has admitted she wasn't quite ready to leave the sun-soaked detective drama behind in 2017. Taking on the role of the beloved detective Humphrey Goodman's fiancée (portrayed by Kris Marshall), Sally made her debut as Martha in 2017.
