AFSOC command chief relieved amid investigation
Air Force Special Operations Command's top enlisted airman was removed from his post Monday amid an investigation.
Chief Master Sgt. Anthony Green, AFSOC'S command chief, was relieved by AFSOC commander Lt. Gen. Mike Conley, the command said in a statement.
Conley told personnel in an email Tuesday that he relieved Green of his duties 'due to a loss of confidence in his ability to fulfill his duties.' The email was posted to the unofficial 'Air Force amn/nco/snco' Facebook page. AFSOC later confirmed the veracity of the email.
'I want to assure you that this decision was made only after careful consideration of the circumstances,' Conley said. 'As airmen, we are entrusted with incredible responsibility and held to the highest standards of conduct. Upholding these standards is non-negotiable, and maintaining good order and discipline is fundamental to who we are.'
AFSOC spokesperson Lt. Col. Becky Heyse confirmed an investigation into Green is ongoing, but she could not comment on its nature or timing. She said Conley is 'committed to the welfare of all airmen in AFSOC.'
AFSOC has about 21,000 airmen across 10 operational wings and two special operations groups.
As AFSOC's command chief, Green served as its top enlisted leader and advised Conley on the readiness, training, education and resiliency of its enlisted airmen.
Green, who enlisted in the Air Force in 1995, began serving as AFSOC command chief in May 2023. He has served as a maintenance technician on multiple aircraft, including the C-130, and as a flying crew chief — a specially trained maintainer that flies on an aircraft to troubleshoot and fix any problems that might arise during a mission.
He previously served as the senior enlisted leader for force structure, requirements, resources and strategic assessments at U.S. Special Operations Command in Florida, as well as command chief for multiple units, including the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey.

Man, 34, dies days after street row
A man died days after being attacked in the street. On Sunday March 9, Merseyside Police received a report a man had a verbal altercation with a group who then assaulted him in the area of Brighton Street, near Egremont Promenade in New Brighton, at about 8.50pm that night. The victim, 34-year-old Michael Palin, is believed to have sustained injuries to his face and hand. He refused medical attention and returned home on a pedal bike. He was found dead at his home on Oxford Road in Liscard three days later, on March 12. Following a post mortem, the cause of his death has been withheld pending toxicology reports. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances into the death. Detective Inspector Andrew Schofield said: 'We know the six people pictured were on or near an Arriva bus that had travelled along Brighton Street at around the time of the assault, in the direction of Seacombe Ferry/Birkenhead. Village bicycle stands leave people racked off
Bike racks placed near a Worcestershire pub are so messy, according to tongue-in-cheek critics, they seem to have been installed under the influence of booze. Other miffed residents say the county council provision - on narrow pavement next to a road - takes up too much room, posing problems for wheelchairs. But not all feedback to a council Facebook post on the racks, outside the Queen Elizabeth Inn in Elmley Castle, has been gloomy. One user said the comments thread was simply "negative" and "toxic". Another added the stands had been "well used". The council has been contacted for comment. The authority previously said of the installation: "Whether you're out for a scenic spin or just pedalling to the pub, we've got you covered." That rationale, however, has not been enough to stop the naysayers from, well, racking up. The Spacing and angles of the apparatus have been criticised, along with resurfacing work. One Facebook user wrote: "What did they use to install them, a hand grenade?" Another joked that workers seemed to have put in the racks "after a few pints". One a more serious point, someone else remarked of the stands' siting: "That [pub] is a listed building and [the racks look] appalling! Where is the thought for the less mobile residents, wheelchairs and even parents with prams?" They added: "Waste of money in my opinion and detrimental to the character of this beautiful village and building." A commentator feeling more appreciative wrote: "Great initiative – it has been well used since the installation and is much appreciated." Elmley Castle is described by its parish council as "one of the most beautiful villages in Worcestershire and probably in England". Russia launches over 100 drones and Iskander missiles on Ukraine
Russia attacked Ukraine with 103 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of decoy drones on the night of 4-5 June. Ukraine's air defence forces downed 74 Russian drones, 46 UAVs disappeared from radar. Of them, 28 were shot down with firepower, and 46 went off radar or were suppressed by electronic warfare. Enemy airstrikes were recorded in 16 locations." Details: It is reported that on the night of 4-5 June (from 22:30 on 4 June), the Russians attacked Ukraine with 103 attack UAVs from the following directions: Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Russian Federation, and Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea; an Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missile was launched from Rostov Oblast, Russia.
