Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt arrive hand in hand at Sitaare Zameea Par screening, watch video
Actor Aamir Khan is all set to make a return to the silver screen with Sitaare Zameen Par after a hiatus of 3 years. Armed with positive reviews from the likes of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar and author Sudha Murthy, the film is Aamir's attempt to break the hold that OTT currently seems to have on Bollywood and its audience. Sitaare Zameen Par, which has been deemed the spiritual sequel to Aamir's 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, will be depending on the power of word-of-mouth to make any kind of mark on the box office.
Aamir arrived with his girlfriend Gauri Spratt, and his son, Azad at the special screening of the film, a day prior to its release. Aamir's daughter Ira Khan arrived with her husband, Nupur Shikare, with whom she tied the knot last year in January.
While Aamir Khan sported an off-white Jodhpuri suit, Gauri Spratt wore an elegant green and golden saree. Aamir, Gauri and Azad posed in front of the poster of the film before the actor came over to meet the photographers. He shook their hands and asked them, 'Achi Jayegi? (It will go fine, right?),' as he crossed his fingers and went back to pose alone.

Ira Khan and her husband, Nupur Shikare, also posed for some pictures at the screening. While Nupur rocked a simple and sober suit, Nupur mixed it up with a traditional lehenga and some white sneakers.
Directed by RS Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par also stars Genelia D'Souza and 10 debutant actors – Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshka. It will hit theatres on June 20.

Aamir Khan On Andaz Apna Apna 2 With Salman: 'Santoshi Is Writing, But Too Early To Confirm'
Last Updated: Aamir Khan says Rajkumar Santoshi is writing Andaz Apna Apna 2, but he and Salman will only return if they love the script. No greenlight yet. Aamir Khan has finally broken his silence on Andaz Apna Apna 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 1994 cult classic that starred him alongside Salman Khan. While the buzz around a possible reunion has excited fans for years, Aamir has now clarified where things currently stand and it's far from confirmed. In a recent chat with Bollywood Hungama, Aamir said that director Rajkumar Santoshi is indeed working on the script, but the project is still in the very early stages. The actor emphasised that both he and Salman would only move ahead with the film once they're absolutely convinced by the story. 'I really believe that scripts have to come out organically. So Raj Santoshi is working on a version of Andaz Apna Apna 2, but it's too early for me to say that it's being made, because until the script is ready and both Salman and I don't love what he narrates and we say yes — until then, the film actually won't be greenlit," Aamir said. 'So right now, it's in very early stages. But let's all hope that he comes up with a good script. We're all hoping." Aamir had previously spoken about the sequel earlier this year. However, his comments were met with concern by the children of the late Vinay Kumar Sinha, who produced the original film. They clarified that Aamir was never a producer on the original and said they would not be selling the rights to either Aamir or Rajkumar Santoshi. They stated, 'Aamir was never a producer (of the film), he was just an actor. We will never sell the rights to him or Rajkumar Santoshi. Yes, Aamir said that Rajkumar Santoshi is writing Andaz Apna Apna 2, and we are very excited about it. But I do want to tell you that in our father's lifetime, for the longest time, Raj ji and Dad kept meeting and talking about a sequel." Whether the sequel materialises or not, one thing's for sure: fans of the original continue to wait with bated breath for Amar and Prem to return to the big screen. First Published:

SC backing fails to guarantee Thug Life release in Karnataka?
सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कर्नाटक सरकार को लगाई फटकार, कहा- एक दिन में 'ठग लाइफ' की रिलीज पर अपडेट दें Despite a clear Supreme Court directive for its smooth release, Kamal Haasan's Thug Life's theatrical debut in Karnataka remains highly uncertain. Distributors in the state are reportedly unwilling to buy the gangster drama, citing poor box office performance and a looming OTT debut. SUPREME COURT TELLS KARNATAKA TO ACT AGAINST DISRUPTORS The Supreme Court on Thursday recorded the Karnataka government's assurance that it would provide adequate security to theatres screening the film. The court noted the importance of preventing any situation where 'someone's sentiment was hurt by utterances' leading to movie stalls, cancelled shows, or artists being stopped. The bench instructed the state government to contain any 'divisive element' threatening the film's release. The Supreme Court closed the PIL after the state's assurance, stating that no further guidelines were necessary. RELEASING THUG LIFE NOW IS NOT A GOOD BUSINESS DECISION: DISTRIBUTOR Karnataka distributor Venkatesh Kamalakar, has told PTI he won't release Thug Life. Kamalakar added it 'does not make sense to release the film considering that Kannadigas' sentiments were hurt by what Kamal had said about the Kannada language. But mostly it is because it is not a good business decision to release the film now.' He further noted that, 'Thug Life is generally considered as not a good film by many. So, it is too risky… When there is no profit, which theatre owner will agree to showcase the film?'
