The Parkinson's Foundation broke their silence on Ozzy Osbourne's death after the musician's battle with the disease.
"The Parkinson's Foundation is deeply saddened by the passing of music legend Ozzy Osbourne, just weeks after his farewell show. Since his Parkinson's disease diagnosis in 2019, Osbourne publicly shared his journey and brought greater awareness to the challenges of living with PD," the organization wrote in a post via X on Tuesday, July 22.
The statement continued, "We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans as we honor his legacy and continue to fight for everyone impacted by Parkinson's."
The post concluded with the organization sharing resources for anyone impacted by the disease. "If you or a loved one are struggling with a diagnosis, you are not alone. Learn more about how we can help at http://Parkinson.org or call our free Helpline at 1-800-4PD-INFO," they wrote.
Osbourne died at the age of 76 on Tuesday, which his family confirmed in a statement via X. "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love," the Osbourne family's statement read. "We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."
While Osbourne's cause of death has not yet been revealed, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019. 'I'm not dying from Parkinson's,' he said while publicly announcing his diagnosis on Good Morning America in 2020. 'I've been working with it most of my life.'

The "Paranoid" musician's wife, Sharon Osbourne, agreed as she said that the diagnosis was 'not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination.'
Parkinson's disease "is a movement disorder of the nervous system that worsens over time," according to the Mayo Clinic. "Symptoms start slowly. The first symptom may be a barely noticeable tremor in just one hand or sometimes a foot or the jaw. Tremor is common in Parkinson's disease."
