"Falling to bits": Tom Hardy Reveals List of Health Woes from Action Stunts
Tom Hardy got candid about how his body is past the point of healing after a life spent getting beaten up on movie sets and in real life during martial arts tournaments.
The actor is well known for getting physical on screen, be it as Bane in 'The Dark Knight Rises' or as Max Rockatansky in 'Mad Max: Fury Road.' Films such as 'The Revenant,' 'Warrior,' and the 'Venom' trilogy have also gotten Hardy battered over the years.
'I've had two knee surgeries now, my disc's herniated in my back, I've got sciatica as well,' Hardy told
Esquire UK.
"And I have that… is it plantar fasciitis? Where did that come from? And why? Why?! And I pulled my tendon in my hip as well. It's like, it's all falling to bits now, and it's not going to get better.'
Hardy currently stars opposite Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren in the Paramount+ crime series 'MobLand.' He also headlined his latest action movie with Gareth Evans' 'Havoc,' which started streaming on Netflix at the end of April. Hardy's comic book movie days are behind him for now.
He debuted as Venom in Sony's 2018 movie, which grossed a huge $856 million at the worldwide box office. He reprised the character in two sequels, 2021's ' Venom: Let There Be Carnage' and 2025's 'Venom: The Last Dance,' the latter of which was billed as Hardy's last outing as the character and grossed $478 million worldwide.
'I loved playing Eddie in 'Venom,'' Hardy told the publication. 'Juggling chainsaws… Put me on a unicycle and throw everything at me! I was just really trying to push myself as much as I could. But I had no Spider-Man! No Avengers! It's just us. Until those bridges are crossed… That's way beyond my control. And I'd love to do that, but that's not even a conversation to have at my level, of just being an actor in that world.'
Hardy has been outspoken over the years about wanting to make a movie with Venom facing off against Tom Holland's Spider-Man.
He revealed on 'The Discourse Podcast' in March that he 'got as close' as he possibly could to getting a crossover made before talks fell through.
'We played in the Sony counterpoint to Disney's Marvel panoply, of which [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige has a huge amount of cards, and Sony has a huge amount of cards in its own right, including Spider-Man, and then there's just no crossover,' Hardy now said. 'We'd love to cross over! That's not happened. That's what happens, and it's one of those things.'

Rana Raeis Joins Film "Saffah Al-Tagamoa"
Yara Sameh Egyptian actress Rana Raeis is the latest addition to the cast of the star-studded film "The Fifth Settlement Murderer" ("Saffah Al-Tagamoa"). Ahmed El Fishawy, Cynthia Khalifeh, and Mariam El Gendy round out the cast. Written and directed by Mohamed Salah Al-Azab and produced by Ahmed El Sobky, the film features El Fishawy playing Karim Selim, known in the media as the Saffah Al-Tagamoa. This is the second project to be developed about the murderer. In June 2024, Azab, the scribe of the crime TV series "Saffah Al Giza", is penning the series. The 8-episode show is produced by Ahmed El Sobky and has actor Hassan El Raddad lined up to take the lead role. Dubbed "the Fifth Settlement Murderer", in connection with a luxurious gated community on the outskirts of Cairo where he lived and killed his victims, Selim, a 36-year-old man and holder of a US passport, admitted during interrogation in May 2024 that he killed an unidentified number of women, other than the three whose bodies were discovered earlier that month. In the next weeks, the bodies of the women were discovered separately, each unclothed in deserted areas in provinces outside Cairo, as their clothes were extracted in other faraway areas afterward. The autopsy reports suggest that the three women were killed by the same person, as all showed similar signs of torture, including strangulation and flogging wounds. The evidence against the perpetrator also included a fingerprint on one of the women's clothes. Laboratory tests of the components of their stomach and blood further indicated narcotics in their system. Following investigations and the examination of CCTV footage in the areas leading to the location of the bodies, security forces managed to identify and apprehend the suspect. The authorities confiscated two mobile phones and a laptop belonging to him, on which he videotaped the incidents committed inside a soundproof room at his flat allocated for his practices. The videos in question showed him performing intercourse with his victims after they died. During interrogation, the suspect confessed that he knew his victims online, some of whom he claimed were courtesans. The suspect asked them to come over to his home, where he performed unusual sexual activities with them before he forced the women to consume drugs and killed them. The suspect acquired a college degree from the most prestigious university in Egypt, the American University in Cairo, and had worked as a teacher at an international school before he quit his job. He created a TikTok channel where he taught American English. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani

Zach Cregger's "Resident Evil" Movie Will Tell a Different Story
Yara Sameh Zach Cregger (Weapons, Barbarian) remains adamant about not remaking any story within the 'Resident Evil' saga for his big-screen adaptation. While he wants to have an original plot, the actor/writer/director told Inverse that he's 'not breaking the rules of the games.' He added, 'I am the biggest worshiper of the games, so I'm telling a story that is a love letter to the games and follows the rules of the games.' Cregger will direct the movie based on the hugely popular horror video game franchise from a script he co-wrote alongside Shay Hatten. Constantin Film is producing and co-financing the film. Constantin's Robert Kulzer, Vertigo Entertainment's Roy Lee and Miri Yoon, and PlayStation Productions are also producing. Cregger is set on creating a project that is 'outside of the characters of the games,' but he reassured fans that the game's roots will be respected. 'It is obedient to the lore of the games, it's just a different story,' Cregger added. 'I'm not going to tell Leon's story, because Leon's story is told in the games. [Fans] already have that.' 'Resident Evil' was released in 1994 as a PlayStation game before being ported to other platforms. In 2002, the first 'Resident Evil' film premiered in theaters with Milla Jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez as the leads. Jovovich went on to lead the following 'Resident Evil: Apocalypse' (2004), 'Resident Evil: Extinction' (2007), 'Resident Evil: Afterlife' (2010), 'Resident Evil: Retribution' (2012), and 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' (2017). In 2021, filmmaker Johannes Roberts took on the franchise reboot 'Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City' as the writer and director. Ahead of the August 8 release of 'Weapons,' Cregger told Variety he hopes to capture the cinematic experience of 'Resident Evil.' 'Those games pioneered something special,' he said. 'The pacing of those games is so unique and effective, and just being locked in with one character moving from point A to point B, knowing you're going to pass through this gauntlet of terror, and you've got to be methodical and thoughtful about it. That's cool. That's cinematic. So I want to tell the story in the world of the games that honors the lore of the games, but it's a new story.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani
