Texas A&M baseball's disappointing season came to an end on Monday, after the Aggies weren't selected for the NCAA tournament.
Texas A&M was not listed as a First Four Out team by the NCAA selection committee, either, meaning it was at least four teams back of being picked for the tournament. The NCAA tournament miss marks the first time the preseason No. 1-ranked team missed out on making the field since 1991.

The Aggies went 30-26 this season, finishing 11-19 in SEC play. They finished the season ranked 50th in RPI, one year after falling to Tennessee in the national championship.
Texas A&M returned Gavin Grahovac, the SEC Freshman of the Year last season, and outfielder Jace LaViolette, a projected first-round pick, for 2025. However, it had to replace coach Jim Schlossnagle, who left the Aggies for Texas after the 2024 College World Series.
Grahovac also went down with a season-ending injury early in the season, which was one of many injuries for Texas A&M in 2025 as Gavin Kash and Caden Sorrell also missed extended time. Pitcher Shane Sdao also missed the entire season after having elbow surgery last offseason, and designated hitter Hayden Schott played the entire year with a torn meniscus, similar to the injury he played through in the College World Series last season.

Regardless, it was quite the disappointing season for Texas A&M, who was expected to be a powerhouse this season under first-year coach Michael Earley, who was the Aggies' hitting coach in 2024.

Texas A&M also wasn't particularly close to being in the field, either, as it wasn't one of the First Four Out teams, according to the NCAA selection committee.
The Aggies went 30-26 this season, finishing 14th of 16 SEC teams in the regular season standings. Texas A&M was also notably swept at home by Missouri this season, which marked Missouri's only three wins in SEC play this season. The Tigers were 16-39 on the year and 3-27 in conference play.

Former Texas A&M defensive back earns United Football League honors

Former Texas A&M defensive back earns United Football League honors Former Texas A&M defensive back Leon O'Neal Jr. has become known as the heart of the United Football League's Houston Roughnecks organization with his dedication and determination on the gridiron. The hours of hard work have paid dividends for the former Aggie Heart Award winner, as he was named to the All-UFL Team on Monday morning. O'Neal Jr. made an immediate impact with Texas A&M in 2018, where he recorded 14 total tackles and one interception in 13 games played as a freshman. From that moment forward, he was all over the field for the Aggies. He finished his collegiate career with 161 total tackles, 18 pass deflections, and six interceptions, becoming one of the most experienced and talented defensive backs in the Southeastern Conference. Following his four-year career in Bryan-College Station, Texas, O'Neal Jr. entered his name into the 2022 NFL Draft. After being undrafted, he would eventually sign with the San Francisco 49ers, before being cut in 2023 and venturing into the Canadian Football League with the Edmonton Elks. Since being signed by the Roughnecks on January 28, 2025, the former Aggie has recorded 46 total tackles, one sack and one pick-six during the UFL regular season. Above his play on the gridiron is his heart and gritty personality that uplifts everyone around him. That, among many other noble personality traits, is the reason that O'Neal was also named as a UFL Sportsman of the Year nominee, which is awarded to the player in the league who demonstrates excellent dedication to serving the community and incredible aptitude on the field. Congrats Leon O'Neal Jr., UFL Sportsman of the Year Nominee 👏 — Houston Roughnecks (@XFLRoughnecks) June 2, 2025 Although the Roughnecks are not competing in the UFL's postseason, O'Neal Jr. announced that he is already on the grind preparing for next season. Texas A&M men's basketball head coach adds new assistant to 2025 staff

Texas A&M men's basketball head coach adds new assistant to 2025 staff After an impressive offseason with multiple talented transfer additions, Texas A&M men's basketball head coach Bucky McMillan added a new assistant for the Aggies' staff on Monday evening. First announced by Statesman reporter Tony Catalina, former DePaul staffer Corey Felder is headed to College Station, Texas, to become the program's new video coordinator. The Closter, New Jersey, native has a wealth of experience serving as a staff member and assistant in the sport, including an internship as the Vice President of Basketball Operations with the New York Knicks for two summers during his time as an undergraduate at Ohio State. After collecting his bachelor's degree with the Buckeyes, Felder spent two years handling the creation and implementation of player development programs, video/scouting analysis and transfer portal data management for the Blue Demons. He served under two head coaches in Tony Stubberfield (2023-2024) and Chris Holtmann (2024-2025) during his time at DePaul. McMillan's addition of Felder to the Aggies' staff only helps provide experience in well-needed areas heading into his first season at the helm at Texas A&M. Coach McMillan has already added multiple portal players, including the likes of former Creighton guard Pop Isaacs and Indiana forward Mackenzie Mgbako. As he continues to build up his staff, the excitement for hoops in Reed Arena is escalating for Aggie fans.
