Soja Zara (Baahubali 2)
This soothing lullaby tops our list of songs for Krishna Janmashtami. With classical roots, Madhushree's voice and the addition of flute, veena, and mridangam creates a magical track. The lyrics are playful, as the singer jokingly threatens to tell Kanha's mother, Yashoda, if he doesn't go to sleep.
Go Go Govinda- Oh! My God
Next on the list is this high-energy dance number, composed by Himesh Reshammiya. This track featuring Sonakshi Sinha and Prabhudheva is perfect for Dahi Handi vibes. It's fun, festive, and full of Govinda energy.
No list of Krishna Janmashtami songs is complete without this track. It is a timeless Hindi bhajan that praises Krishna in his many forms. This track is meditative and soul-stirring, making it perfect for quiet moments of devotion.
Woh Kisna Hai (Kisna)
A song that never gets old! Blending classical and folk music, this Radha-Krishna number has a divine feel. Sung by Udit Narayan and Madhushree, the song is a must-play during Janmashtami.
Radha Kaise Na Jale (Lagaan)
A musical portrayal of Radha's jealousy, crooned by Udit Narayan and Asha Bhosle, is a fan favourite to this day and we can't agree more.
Sri Krishna Govind Hare Murari
This mantra-like devotional song glorifies Krishna through his many names. Be it Govind, Hari, or Murari, this bhajan radiates calm, peace, and spiritual energy as each name represents different divine qualities.
Maiya Yashoda (Hum Saath Saath Hai)
Coming to this classic by Kavita Krishnamurthy, Anuradha Paudwal, and Alka Yagnik, it is a very popular song the star-studded Hum Saath Saath Hain. Maiya Yashoda celebrates little Krishna's mischief and Radha's love.
Govinda Aala Re (Rangrezz)
Filled with festive fervour, this track channels the spirit of Govinda with full energy. It's a lively and energetic go-to choice for street celebrations and Dahi Handi events. Play this track and everyone present nearby will be forced to join you in the festivities.

Indian techie applies for 'CEO of Spotify', suggests shifting HQ to Mars; gets epic reply from streaming giant

In a quirky yet bold move, an Indian techie pursuing his computer science degree decided to apply for none other than the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at global music streaming giant Spotify. Interestingly, the techie, Shaunak Pathak , is just an 18-𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳-𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘰𝘺, studying computer science 𝘢𝘵 the 𝘝𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘉𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘢𝘭. Sharing his unusual job application story on LinkedIn, Shaunak wrote, 'I shot my shot. Thought I'd skip the ladder directly and apply to be CEO of Spotify. Apparently, shifting HQ to Mars was a bit much. Rejection happens. But real ones don't pause, they hit play again. Playlists > promotions.' He later posted the response he received from Spotify — a hilariously worded rejection letter that has now gone viral. The company, while appreciating his enthusiasm, pointed out that some of his suggestions were not exactly practical. The letter read: 'Your cover letter included the phrase: 'As my first action I'll replace all ads with fun facts about dinosaurs.' This was seen as catastrophically unprofessional. Additionally, your proposal to 'Move Spotify HQ to Mars' was flagged as disruptive by Legal. While we admire your boldness, we've chosen to move forward with a more traditional candidate — one who did not ask for 'lifetime free Spotify Premium only for the CEO.'' The cheeky note ended with, 'We wish you luck in your future endeavors, preferably far away from our platform.' Live Events Shaunak's post drew dozens of humorous comments, with one user writing, 'Thank you sir, you've inspired me to apply to my dream job at NASA.' Interestingly, Shaunak revealed that his inspiration came from Ömer Öztok, who had earlier applied for the CEO position at Clash Royale and received a similarly witty rejection. Öztok's post, which jokingly mentioned banning all Mega Knight users, had also gone viral across platforms.

How Krishna has inspired a wide body of Carnatic compositions.

The Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha's Sri Jayanthi festival featured Archana and Samanvi where the vocalists demonstrated how Krishna has inspired a wide body of compositions. Their choice of repertoire, spanning Dikshitar's kritis, Purandaradasa's devarnamas, Oothukadu's creations, Sivan's Tamil pieces, and the devotional Pasurams of Andal and Ashtapadis of Jayadevar, offered variety. They were supported by Haritha Narayanan (violin), Aduthurai Guruprasad (mridangam) and S. Harikishore (kanjira). The concert opened with Oothukadu Venkata Kavi's 'Ranganatham anisham', a kriti known for featuring of the names of alwars and other devotees of Vishnu in one of its charanams, set in Gambeera Nattai. True to the composer's characteristic verve, the piece unfolded on a vibrant note, setting the tone for the evening. From there, the duo moved to Purandaradasa's 'Gopiya bhagyavidu' in Kapi Narayani, tuned by their guru Arvinda Hebbar. The composition dwells on the bhagyam of Yashoda to bathe Krishna, sing him lullabies and shield him from the evil eye. The next segment featured Dhanyasi, with Samanvi shaping a thoughtful alapana that was ably supported by Haritha. This was followed by Papanasam Sivan's 'Balakrishnan padamalar'. There were occasional moments of vocal misalignment, when the singers didn't seem to be in sync. The percussionists lent a lively support. The niraval at 'neela mugil pol azhagan' was engaging and flowed into a round of kalpanaswaras. The concert then moved to Muthuswami Dikshitar's 'Krishnananda mukunda murare' in Gowli Pantu, distinguished by its use of shuddha madhyamam. Apoorva's alapana in Karaharapriya carried weight, though she briefly paused midway before resuming. The violin's responses were pleasing, setting the stage for Oothukadu Venkata Kavi's 'Rasa keli vilasa', the main piece of the day. While the charanam saw both vocalists momentarily falter over the 'sahrda hrdi' passage and correct themselves, the kalpanaswaras in two kaalams were neatly executed. The segment concluded with a lively tani, where the mridangam and kanjira engaged in spirited dialogue. To conclude, the vocalists chose two lighter yet substantial compositions — Andal's 'Karpooram naarumo', from Nachiyar Tirumozhi, was sung in Khamas with charm, followed by Jayadeva's 'Nijagada sa', in Sindhubhairavi. Both pieces made for a fine finale to a concert dedicated to Krishna.
