Jaipur: Rajasthan's Manika Vishwakarma, who was crowned Miss Universe India 2025, said that former Miss Universe and actor Sushmita Sen and her mother are her two role models in life.
The grand finale of the Miss Universe India pageant was held in Jaipur on August 18, where Manika was crowned by Miss Universe India 2024 Rhea Singha, taking over the title from last year's winner.
After winning the show, Vishwakarma shared that she has two role models in her life, who helped her to win the Miss Universe India crown in Jaipur.
While speaking to ANI after her victory, Manika stated, "I have two role models in my life. First is Sushmita Sen, second is my mother. I think both of these ladies are the reason I have always known Sushmita Sen as someone who not only says something, but also does it. From her Miss Universe journey to her life journey, every single word that she said, she has meant it and she has proved it, till now," she said.
Apart from the Bollywood actress, she also credited her mother for instilling in her the values of integrity and action.
"And same as with my mother, she has taught me that quality, that you don't just speak, you also act upon it, you also say it and you become the embodiment of it so that people know that a person is not just about what they say, but how strong we are as humans," Vishwakarma added.
As for her future, the Miss Universe India 2025 said she aims to explore diverse opportunities that come her way.
"I want to explore all the possibilities that come with it and not just go in one direction, but show people how much more can come with pageants to your life," she said.
Vishwakarma will represent India at the 74th Miss Universe pageant scheduled to be held in Thailand later this year.
Manika is originally from Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan. She was also crowned the Miss Universe Rajasthan 2024.

Chris Martin plans to keep Coldplays kiss cam at concerts despite Astronomer CEO 'debacle'

London [UK], August 20 (ANI): Coldplay frontman Chris Martin seems to have no plans to give up the famous "kiss cam" at the band's shows, even after it led to a viral scandal involving former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company's ex-HR head, Kristin Cabot. According to Page Six, Martin, during Coldplay's "Music of the Spheres" World Tour stop in Hull, England, addressed the crowd about the incident that unfolded last month in Massachusetts. "We've been doing [the Jumbotron] for a long time, and it is only recently that it became a... yeah," Martin told the crowd, hinting at the viral incident. "Life throws you lemons, and you've got to make lemonade. So, we are going to keep doing it because we are going to meet some of you," he added. The singer also interacted with fans, reading out signs from the crowd. Spotting one fan who had attended multiple shows, Martin thanked him for attending the show "three times in three months." "You were at that Boston gig," the "Fix You" singer said. "Well, OK, thank you for coming again after that debacle," he added, referring to the moment when Byron and Cabot were spotted canoodling on the "kiss cam" during the band's tour stop at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts last month. The whole drama began on July 16 when Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot appeared on the "kiss cam" during a Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium. Byron was seen putting his arms around Kristin, and both appeared to quickly hide their faces after realizing they were being shown on the big screen. The woman was seen briskly covering her face, while Byron ducked out of sight. Their awkward reaction, as they tried to dodge the camera, fueled speculation of an affair after Martin joked from the stage, "Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy." The clip exploded on social media, forcing Astronomer to place Byron and Cabot on leave. Within a day, Byron resigned from his role as CEO, as per Page Six. (ANI)

It Ends With Us actor Isabela Ferrer comes out with harassment claims against Justin Baldoni; everything to know

Just when you thought the It Ends With Us drama between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively had finally died down, the saga has taken yet another messy turn. What started as an ugly behind-the-scenes feud is now back in the headlines, thanks to actress Isabela Ferrer stepping forward with her own claims against Baldoni. Blake Lively, Isabela Ferrer and Justin Baldoni According to Variety, Ferrer's lawyer alleged on Sunday that Baldoni is 'harassing' her and trying to use his financial influence to dictate how she responds to Blake Lively's subpoena. The 24-year-old, however, reportedly wants nothing more than to stay out of the Baldoni-Lively legal firestorm. For context: Blake Lively is suing Baldoni for sexual harassment, claiming he retaliated against her after she spoke out, launching a hidden campaign to ruin her reputation. Lively's lawsuit even accuses Baldoni of sneaking in a controversial scene where Young Lily loses her virginity — and then making the young actors uncomfortable by allegedly remarking, 'I know I'm not supposed to say this, but that was hot.' As expected, Baldoni's camp has pushed back hard. His lawyers released text messages from Ferrer where she once described him as a 'great director' and 'wonderful to work with.' Their argument? That Ferrer only began distancing herself when Baldoni's feud with Lively exploded during the movie's promotion. But Ferrer's involvement escalated earlier this year when Lively's lawyers subpoenaed her in February, seeking communications related to the case. That forced Ferrer to lawyer up — and ask Baldoni's team, as her employer, to cover the costs. Instead of cutting a check, Ferrer's lawyer Sanford Michelman says Baldoni tried to make the financial guarantee conditional on influencing her legal strategy. It didn't stop there. Michelman claims Baldoni's team even cited a 'fake case' (which he believes was generated by AI) as justification for why producers deserved to influence her strategy in the case. He also accused them of twisting facts about Ferrer's role in the legal mess. Furthermore, while negotiations were ongoing, Baldoni's team apparently asked Michelman if he'd accept a subpoena on behalf of Ferrer. He refused. Still, Baldoni's lawyers continue to push for Ferrer to produce documents and messages. Now, in her own filing, Ferrer is asking the court to 'deny the Motion in its entirety and impose appropriate sanctions against Baldoni,' per Variety (ANI). From Blake vs. Justin to Ferrer vs. Justin, it's clear that what was once just a film adaptation of a Colleen Hoover novel has turned into a real-life drama of its own — and this one shows no signs of ending any time soon.
