Ryan Lochte's new girlfriend aims thinly-veiled dig at his wife after she hinted Olympics legend 'betrayed' her
It comes a day after the former swimmer, 40, confirmed he is dating blonde mom-of-three Molly Gillihan, 37, in an exclusive interview with Daily Mail.
His wife - former Playboy model Kayla Rae Reid - revealed last month she had filed for divorce in March, insisting her seven-year marriage to Lochte was 'irretrievably broken.'
The shock split went unreported until she wrote about it in a cryptic Instagram post referencing 'trials we didn't choose or see coming', declining to say more.
Then, last week, Reid posted a cryptic message on Instagram where she talked about how 'betrayal' can lead to 'breakthrough'.
Lochte and Gillihan fell head over heels after meeting on the school run – but the dad-of-three is adamant that he never cheated on Reid.
And now his new partner has jumped to his defense, issuing an apparent rebuttal to Reid's suggestion there was some sort of 'betrayal' in their relationship.
'It's okay to be so happy that your heart could explode out of your chest and you want to shout it from the rooftops,' Gillihan wrote on her private Instagram account, according to TMZ Sports.
'If you've felt it, you know this to be true.
'We would not be here if we had anything to hide or if there had been any betrayal that occurred along the way. This little goofball came into my life patiently, sincerely, and honestly. I am choosing him. @ryanlochte.'
Talking to Daily Mail, a besotted Lochte gushed over his new partner.
He said: 'Molly is true to herself. She has a big heart. She's a kindergarten teacher so she has the patience of a freaking saint.
'It's awesome being with her. We're just living our best lives and having fun.'
The 40-year-old also revealed how his split from Reid is as acrimonious as ever.
'Kayla has blocked me on social media. She's the one that wanted this divorce in the first place and now she's playing this pity party,' Lochte added, icily.
'I want people to understand that Molly didn't take me away from my ex-wife. She didn't take me away from my kids.
'We got a divorce and I left. I moved down the street because I wanted to be in my kids' lives and I will always be in my kids' lives.
'There was no infidelity with Molly, like nothing. Molly didn't do anything wrong. She didn't pursue me, I pursued her.
'It was after I got served with the divorce papers. I was out of the house and living by myself. It was all after the fact.'
Two of Molly's children go to the same school in Gainesville, Florida, as the youngest two of Lochte's three kids, Caiden, eight, and Liv, six.
'I'm extremely happy with Ryan,' Molly told DailyMail.com.
'He pursued me some time after Kayla served him with divorce papers and he was living on his own.'

Youth teams representing Texans, Jags capture NFL flag football titles
July 21 - Youth football teams representing the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars won the High School Girls and 14-Under Boys divisions on Sunday at the second annual NFL Flag Championships in Canton, Ohio. The Texas Fury Texans shut out the Bad Rabbits Cowboys 19-0 in the girls final after falling in the semifinals of the inaugural tournament. Game MVP Emery Beckett was 8-for-8 passing for 102 yards and three touchdowns. She connected with Zahara Hill for a 12-yard score, Kelsey Quinn for another first-half TD and Hill again on a 3-yard toss in the game's final five minutes. Kaitlyn Reynolds and Sonya Chalil recorded interceptions for the Fury defense. The Bad Rabbits, representing the Dallas Cowboys, defeated AA Select (Philadelphia Eagles) 7-0 in one semifinal, while the Texas Fury edged Conquer (Los Angeles Chargers) 7-6. On the boys' side, the Jaguars Elite and tournament MVP Brysen Wright posted a 13-0 victory over Showtime, which represented the Atlanta Falcons. Jaguars quarterback Dalton Motes was 8 of 12 for 108 yards and two touchdowns -- a 30-yarder to Jaiden Barnett and a 15-yarder to Ry'land Williams. Wright broke up a pass late in the game when Showtime went for it on fourth down. Wright, 14, scored 10 TDs in seven tournament games, including a tumbling one-handed catch in traffic that went viral and caught the attention of NFL stars Patrick Mahomes and Bijan Robinson, among others. Showtime was 1 of 6 on third-down conversions despite recording more passing yards (117-104). Showtime QB Januel Morales was 8 of 13 for 73 yards and one interception, while teammate Vincenzo Mena was 4 of 10 for 51 yards. The Jaguars Elite eliminated RFP (Buffalo Bills) 41-12 in one semifinal, while Showtime topped High Intensity (San Francisco 49ers) 13-7 in the other. The three-day competition involved about 300 teams representing all 32 NFL clubs across 12 divisions. The event also featured international contests with eight teams traveling from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, Great Britain, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Flag football continues to surge in popularity ahead of the 2028 Summer Olympics, where it will debut as an official sport in Los Angeles. The NFL announced in May that its players will be allowed to compete. --Field Level Media

Angel Martinez chipped in with a single, double and solo home run for the Guardians, who have won eight of 10 bridging the All-Star break. Rookie Nick Kurtz doubled twice and drove in a run for the A's, who won just twice in the six-game season series against Cleveland. Mets 3, Reds 2 Juan Soto scored from third on Luis Torrens' fielder's choice grounder in the bottom of the eighth inning, lifting New York over visiting Cincinnati. Soto started the inning by coaxing a leadoff walk from Brent Suter (1-1), then reached third via Jeff McNeil's one-out double to right-center. Tony Santillan relieved Suter and Torrens welcomed him by rapping a 3-2 pitch to Reds second baseman Matt McLain, whose one-hop throw home was too late to nail Soto at the plate. Edwin Diaz (5-0) got the win for the Mets despite blowing a save chance, courtesy of his two-out, bases-loaded plunking of Spencer Steer that allowed McLain to score the tying run in the top of the eighth. Ryne Stanek pitched the ninth for his second save. Twins 7, Rockies 1 Royce Lewis hit two home runs for his second multi-homer game of his career -- and first in the regular season -- as Minnesota went deep four times to beat Colorado in Denver. Sex and The City hunk Gilles Marini claims ‘it's time' for And Just Like That ‘to go' as fans slam ‘insufferable' show
SEX and The City star Gilles Marini agrees with fans that the reboot 'And Just Like That...' has had its time in the sun, and the writers should "shatter the storyline" and create something new. The French actor appeared in the first movie based on the hit HBO show in 2008 as a love interest for Kim Cattrall's character, Samantha. 5 5 His iconic naked shower scene - that involved hours of filming - launched his acting career and later resulted in a stint on Dancing With the Stars. And although he's entirely grateful for the show, he feels the writers need to go in a new direction after 'And Just Like That...' was slammed as "insufferable" by die-hard fans. In an exclusive chat with The U.S. Sun, he said, "Everything takes its time. It goes up, and then it goes down [in popularity]. We have to know and understand when it's time to go." He feels viewers would still love to see more of the iconic characters, but a different spin-off may work instead of continuing to focus on Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker. "Maybe taking the side of one of the characters and having this history behind of Sex and The City," he said. "But making something so clearly different.. somebody else come in with something new, you know? Really fresh, like the storyline has to be completely shattered. "And something that is meaningful nowadays. Everybody loved this show because everybody could relate. Let's have a show where really everyone can relate a little bit [more]." He said he was aware of the criticism surrounding the show but would also love to hear from those who have watched And Just Like That but never seen the original series. 5 Some TV critics have complained that the show's characters are now unlikeable and the show has become "unbearable to watch," while viewers have joked that the latest season was "written by AI". And Just Like That premiered in December 2021 and focuses on Carrie and friends Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York as they navigate life in their 50s in New York City. Fans were stunned to learn of the death of her husband, Big [played by Chris Noth], and actress Kim has only appeared in a cameo after bowing out of returning as a full-time cast member. The third season has seen Carrie struggle to work out her relationship with ex-fiance Aidan Shaw, who is dealing with family drama in Virginia. Despite its critics, Marini says he has loved seeing the main characters back on screen and would not turn down the opportunity to appear in the future. He said, "If I got the call… I'd run to it. Absolutely. I think one of the most amazing things that I had the chance to do in my life was Sex And The City." Asked about Kim's decision not to reprise her role, he added, "To each their own. Sometimes people want to start something, and then when they're done, they're done with it. "At the end of it, look at the career she has, I mean, everything she's done. She doesn't need [anything]. It's her decision, of course." He told The U.S. Sun had never seen the show before he was cast and had no idea at the time of the impact it had. Marini recalled, "Michael Patrick King, the director of the film, he said, 'Listen, when the movie comes out, your life will never be the same and your phone will never stop ringing'. And I'm like, why? Why is he saying that? And now I know why he said that. I had never watched the show before, and I think that was key in me getting the part." Actor Gilles Marini "At the end of the day he [Marini's character] was not just a guy. What was very interesting is when I developed that character in my mind, it was important for me for [women] to understand that this man is just not like .. he's gonna have sex with you. "No matter what, the moment spent with him will be unforgettable. "He loves what he does. He loves to be with women. And he's the near image in a way of Kim Cattrall's character a couple of years prior. "I needed to play him so that you're not ever threatened. [He's] just a guy that loves to make love. "I've never watched it back, but everybody sends me the scenes every day because ... guys and girls, whatever flavor, send me it, 'Oh look, it's in Korean, it's in Russian, it's in Spanish'. "Every time I hear myself in a different language, I can't resist. I have to post it. "I had never watched the show before, and I think that was key in me getting the part. "But it's an educational show for men. If you're a man and you watch Sex and The City, you understand a lot more the psyche of women. And you get along with them a lot better." Years on from the scene that set pulses racing, Marini has managed to keep his physique in top-tip shape, but said taking care of his health is important, it's not about being a pin-up. "I keep myself in shape because I like to be more of an inspiration than someone that's given up on [themselves]," he said. "I'm about to be 50 years old." Marini is still getting plenty of roles and is also working on a movie, telling The U.S. Sun he's happy to be back in action after the pandemic saw productions in Hollywood grind to a halt. "I'm very excited about the kind of reverse of Hollywood. It has to happen, he said. "Because it's been like really insane for a lot of people, including myself, since the pandemic. "Hollywood should be seen as the leader of everything [in movies]. The last time I shot something here was at Warner Bros. "And you could tell that it was not immensely busy. And that was not even a year ago. I want to work. I must export myself elsewhere. "I just shot a film with a beautiful Kym Johnson, one of the all-time leaders of everything in Dancing With the Stars, that I adore. "She's amazing. And she wanted to do a beautiful film, with dancing and Christmas and love. Christmas in a ballroom. We cannot wait. "It's was very sweet. It was cool. It was difficult for me because I went back to kind of dancing. [Bu] it went more than well. She's just phenomenal. I can't wait to see her again."
