Yahoo Fantasy app gets a refresh just in time for the season
We've given your favorite fantasy app a little refresh so you can play faster, smoother and smarter. With today's update, the Yahoo Fantasy app is refreshed and refocused. We've made it easier to see more leagues, more players and more of what matters most. Setting lineups is easier and navigation is faster so nothing slows you down on your path to the championship. Here's what's new: 1. Updated Homescreen As you play in more and more fantasy leagues, you'll see more matchups on the screen at once — up to 50% more are in view at all times. We've also made it easier to go directly to your matchups from the home page. You can tap anywhere in the matchup preview to take you there. Or, if you want quick access to your team page, tap 'View My Team' and it will take you there! 2. Updated Navigation and Padding Across the App You asked for more data on the screen, and we listened. We tightened up navigation, reduced padding between elements, and freed up more space across nearly every screen to give you more info at a glance. 3. Starting Players Grouped Together All starting players are now grouped together at the top of your Team screen. You can see your full starting squad without benched players breaking things up by position, making your lineup cleaner and easier to manage. It's the same fantasy experience you know and love, just better. Enjoy the refresh and may the odds be in your favor come draft day! Fall Refresh marks day 18 of our 28 Days of Fantasy. Follow it all here.

Random Ramsdom: 49ers trade for a receiver
The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly traded for Sky Moore from the Kansas City Chiefs. Moore, a second-round pick only a few seasons ago, didn't take off for the Chiefs, but he could be the right type of players to fit the 49ers. He also could be a player who never lives up to his early round draft status. We don't know. We are getting closer to the NFL season, so be sure to enjoy these last few weeks off because we're in it, we're in it. Thanks for checking out today's Random Ramsdom! Chiefs trade wide receiver Skyy Moore to 49ers for late-round 2027 draft picks (kmbc) 'Multiple reports say the Chiefs and 49ers will swap sixth- and seventh-round draft picks in 2027 as part of the deal. Moore finishes his Chiefs career with 494 receiving yards and one touchdown.' NFL trade grades: Chiefs offload Skyy Moore to desperate 49ers (fansided) 'The terms of the deal highlight just how disappointing Moore's Chiefs tenure has been. All it took for the Niners to acquire him was swapping 2027 picks in the sixth and seventh rounds. Moore was essentially handed over to San Francisco for nothing. As underwhelming of a deal as this is, it needed to happen. The Chiefs needed to part with Moore, a player who clearly wasn't going to amount to anything in Kansas City, Moore needed a change of scenery, and the Niners needed to add wide receiver depth.' NFL analyst doesn't think the Rams are well-positioned to win in next 5 years (theramswire) 'Sean McVay is only 39 years old, but few around the NFL think he'll be coaching into his 50s — not after he's already flirted with retirement once. If he sticks around, he'll have some rebuilding to do over the next five years, especially with QB Matthew Stafford likely in his final season or two. The good news is GM Les Snead has been able to find some young talent, like WR Puka Nacua, RB Kyren Williams and edge rusher Jared Verse — no small feat considering his habit of trading away high draft picks. He's also proven to be aggressive about getting the players McVay needs. So they won't fade until oblivion in the next few years. But finding that next QB will really be key.'

Will Howard injury update: Is Pittsburgh Steelers rookie playing in preseason Week 3?
Will Howard injury update: Is Pittsburgh Steelers rookie playing in preseason Week 3? originally appeared on The Sporting News The Thursday night preseason contest between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Panthers will be the final dress rehearsal before the regular season for both teams. While the Panthers are not going to play their starters, the Steelers will be playing most of theirs, with the exception of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, wide receiver DK Metcalf, outside linebacker T.J. Watt and defensive lineman Cam Heyward. This will be the last opportunity for rookies and those on the roster bubble to make their final statement before final cuts on Aug. 27. One of the most high-profile rookies on the Steelers' roster is quarterback Will Howard, who was sidelined for the first two preseason games due to injury. Will we see Howard on Thursday night? Here's the latest update on his status for the game and how his recovery from injury is coming along. Is Will Howard playing tonight? No, Will Howard won't be suiting up for the preseason Week 3 contest against the Panthers because of a broken pinky finger. That means quarterbacks Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson will divvy up the snaps for Pittsburgh. Will Howard injury update After initially suffering the injury on Aug. 5, Howard was reportedly going to miss "at least three weeks," which would put his earliest return date at Aug. 26, one day before final cuts on Aug. 27. "I can normally tolerate pain pretty well," Howard said of the injury. "I literally could not grip the football. So, I knew something was messed up.' According to Steelers beat writer Mark Kaboly, Howard was spotted with a smaller wrap on his hand during practice on Tuesday, which is a good sign he's progressing through his recovery. While Howard has been sidelined for quite some time because of the injury, the expectation is the sixth-round rookie will make the 53-man roster. Pittsburgh doesn't have a long-term solution under center, seeing as how Rodgers is likely to retire after this season, so it only makes sense to keep Howard as a developmental option in the hopes he can become the starter in the future.
