Footage of MLB teammates' bizarre sexual handshake goes viral

Daily Mail3 days ago
Footage of the bizarre sexual handshake between Philadelphia Phillies teammates Bryce Harper and Weston Wilson has gone viral after the pair were seen touching each other.
In the dugout of Friday's game against the Detroit Tigers, Harper approached Wilson, with the two high-fiving before appearing to check each other's athletic supporters.
The move was done simultaneously and without eye contact, drawing the attention of the internet.
Some have branded the move as strange, while others see it as two MLB players letting loose and not taking themselves too seriously.
Wilson ended up replacing Harper in the game at first base after the two-time National League MVP was ejected from the contest.
Yet, even in victory, many remember more about the duo's handshake than what occurred outside the dugout.
Bryce Harper and Weston Wilson appeared to do a cup check while the game happened
'Christian Wilkins would THRIVE here,' one MLB fan said about the former Las Vegas Raider who was released in part for kissing a teammate.
'Damn. Keep that play in the clubhouse fellas,' a second person stated.
'Good friends double check if their friends remembered their cups,' a third added.
Dude get Weston Wilson off this baseball team NOW. Bryce's non reaction too… I got my eyes on you now too Mr Harper,' a fourth said.
'Bryce Harper and Weston Wilson's handshake is nuts,' a fifth concluded.
A collection of messages about Bryce Harper and Weston Wilson's bizarre handshake
The Phillies enter Saturday's showdowns a half-game ahead of the New York Mets for first place in the NL East.
Both teams are in solid shape to make the postseason, regardless of which wins the division.
Harper has been an integral part of Philadelphia's push for the postseason this year, and has not been shy of drumming up controversy, including with MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred.
Maybe his secret to staying relevant all along has been his dugout handshake with Wilson.

Rory McIlroy sparks concern among fellow players by skipping the first leg of PGA Tour playoffs

's latest absence from the PGA Tour isn't a surprise, but it is worrying to rivals fighting to legitimize the FedEx Cup playoffs. The five-time major winner is skipping this week's FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis at TPC Southwind, where he will be the only eligible player not participating in a tournament named for its top sponsor. Asked about the world's No. 2 opting out of one of the playoffs' three legs, rival golfer and PGA Tour Policy Board player director Peter Malnati told Golf Week he was 'very concerned.' Unfortunately for Malnati, there's not much the tour can do to stop McIlroy from skipping a third event this season. With 3,444 points in the FedEx Cup standings, second only to Scottie Scheffler, McIlroy has a comfortable 849-point cushion over third-place Sepp Straka. And since the current FedEx Cup format features a progressive cut, McIlroy can count on advancing to next week's BMW Championship in Owings Mills, Maryland. From there, provided he remains in the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings, McIlroy would advance to the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. McIlroy actually played in the St. Jude Championship last year, finishing at the bottom of the filed without much of a penalty. 'I mean, I finished basically dead last there this year, and only moved down one spot in the playoff standings,' he told reporters in 2024. McIlroy has already earned $10 million this year thanks to a Masters win and other successes. But the loophole that allowed him to skate by to the second leg of the postseason could be up for review. 'I think there is stuff in the works and I'll leave it at that,' Malnati told Golfweek. Tour Policy Board member Webb Simpson didn't so quite so optimistic. 'I think it's too hard of a thing to make guys have to play,' Simpson told Golfweek. 'We're still a sport where you can play when you want to play.' The FedEx St. Jude Championship starts Thursday with $20 million in prize money at stake.

Popular comedy show puts Trump in its sights yet again

South Park will continue to satirize the Trump administration, with an upcoming episode featuring Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) descending on the fictional town and a scene depicting Trump with Satan. The previous episode of the long-running animated series launched a scathing critique of Trump, referencing the 'Epstein list', his lawsuits, and the prospect of government censorship. Co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have confirmed they will not hold back on their satirical content, despite the show's move from HBO Max to Paramount+ as part of a $1.5 billion streaming deal. The show depicted Trump suing the town of South Park for 5 billion, eventually settling for 3.5 billion in exchange for 'pro-Trump messaging' in public service announcements. The White House responded to the initial episode with a strongly worded statement criticizing the 'hypocrisy of the Left', despite the episode drawing a record audience.
