Oppo K13x surfaces in Google Play, gets certified too
Oppo launched the K12x in August of last year, and it's now working on its aptly named successor, the K13x. This has already appeared in the Google Play Supported Devices database, and it's been certified for sale in India by BIS.
Hence, it might actually launch sooner in the year than its predecessor, we assume. The K13x will join the K13 which was unveiled last month. Unfortunately, no specs of the K13x have been leaked so far, but since its release is nearing, we're likely to hear more about it soon. Oppo K13
For reference, note that the K12x came with a 6.67-inch LCD screen with 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,000-nit peak brightness, the Dimensity 6300 SoC, 6/8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of storage, a 32 MP main camera, an 8 MP selfie snapper, and a 5,100 mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging. Oppo K12x

New leak claims Dimensity 9500 matches Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 in terms of performance
Qualcomm and MediaTek are almost toe to toe when it comes to flagship chipset. Both chip makers are trying to create extremely powerful, yet very efficient, smartphone chipsets, in an attempt to gain from each other's market just a few months away from the release of Qualcomm's flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, but rumor has it MediaTek is going to launch its own top-tier chip, Dimensity 9500, slightly this doesn't really matter for handset makers, which made plans about their device long before MediaTek and Qualcomm decided when to reveal their chipsets, it does matter for customers, especially if one of the two chipsets is more powerful than the other. According to the latest reports, that doesn't seem to be the case though. After revealing the benchmark scores of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 just a few days ago, reputable leaker Digital Chat Station is back with yet another juicy piece of information, MediaTek Dimensity 9500's benchmark scores. Judging from the numbers, MediaTek managed to beef up its flagship chipset just as much Qualcomm. The Dimensity 9500 and Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 have nearly similar scores, so it will probably a matter of taste when it comes to choosing which phone you want. Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 benchmark scores Single core performance score: 4,000+ — up from 3,100+ Multi core performance score: 11,000+ — up from 9,800+ MediaTek Dimensity 9500 benchmark scores Single core performance score: 3,900+ — up from 2,900+ Multi core performance score: 11,000+ — up from 9,200+ MediaTek Dimensity 9500 is becoming more interesting as we're getting closer to its launch | Image credit: PhoneArena Just like the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 chipset will use TSMC's third-generation 3nm node manufacturing process. The chipset's architecture consists of 1 Travis core, 3 Alto cores, and 4 Gelas cores. The first two are based on Arm Cortex-X9 cores, while the latter is based on Arm's Cortex-A7. In comparison, MediaTek's Dimensity 9400 chipset uses Cortex-X4 cores instead, so this is one of the reasons that the upcoming Dimensity 9500 will be a lot more powerful. The first phones to use MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 chipset could be the Oppo Find X9 and Vivo X300. We have yet to learn when exactly MediaTek plans to announce its new chipset, but we do know Qualcomm's will make the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 official on (or around) September 23.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7's nemesis arrives later this month to heat up competition
One of the most exciting devices coming out this second half of the year is Vivo's X Fold 5, a flagship foldable that promises some unprecedented features no other device in this segment has ever offered. Vivo has just announced that the X Fold 5 will be introduced in China on June 25. There are many reasons the Vivo X Fold 5 is a more interesting piece of technology than Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7, and one of them is the fact that it features Apple ecosystem integration. The Chinese company took to Weibo soon after Apple's WWDC announcement to confirm that its upcoming foldable flagship, X Fold 5, will feature Apple Watch support allowing users synchronize health data recorded on the watch, as well as display all the incoming calls and text message of the phone on Apple's smartwatch. But that's not the only thing that elevates the X Fold 5 above all other foldables currently available on the market. Vivo confirmed its upcoming phone will be the first foldable to feature triple protection thanks to IPX8, IPX9 and IPX5 ratings that certify the X Fold 5 is water/dust resistant and can continue to function even at minus 20 degrees Celsius (minus 4 degrees Fahrenheit). To top it all off, the X Fold 5 is supposed to pack a massive 6,000 mAh battery, the biggest available in a foldable. One of the reasons that the foldable is able to function even under such low temperatures is because Vivo is taking advantage of the fourth-generation silicon-carbon anode technology, which makes it possible for the battery to work even at minus 30 degrees Celsius (minus 22 degrees Fahrenheit). Vivo X Fold 5 can be used an extended monitor for Mac users | Image credit: Vivo If all these didn't pique your interest perhaps the fact that the X Fold 5 will offer state-of-the-art imaging performance, even though it will be one of the slimmest and lightest foldable on the market. According to Vivo, the X Fold 5 comes with a better telephoto camera than the company's previous foldable, the X Fold 3 Pro, which arguably has the best camera in a foldable. Vivo X Fold 5 will be extremely slim and light | Image credit: Vivo Besides that, Vivo also revealed that the X Fold 5 will feature support for 4,500 nits peak brightness on both displays, just like its previous foldables. However, this time Vivo is adding LTPO backplane for true variable refresh rate control. Overall, the X Fold 5 feels like an exceptional piece of hardware that does a lot of things better than its competitors. It remains to be seen how well these features will work and whether or not it makes sense for an Android device to actually offer Apple ecosystem integration (among other things).

vivo T4 Lite's chipset, battery capacity, and launch timeframe leak
vivo is currently working on the T4 Lite, and a new rumor today claims the device will launch by the end of this month in India. The T4 Lite will allegedly be powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 6300 SoC, and it will have a 6,000 mAh battery. In fact, this will be vivo's most affordable 5G smartphone with a 6,000 mAh battery, for whatever that claim is worth. Despite the large battery, it's also rumored to be quite slim. vivo T4 The T4 Lite will be the successor to the T3 Lite which came in June 2024, and it will join the already available T4, T4x, and T4 Ultra. It might also have a twin on the Indian market according to a past rumor - the iQOO Z10 Lite. And both of these might be related to the vivo Y19 and Y29s, because vivo just can't stop playing naming and rebranding games. If all of these 'family relations' are accurate, then don't be surprised to see the T4 Lite sporting a 6.74-inch LCD screen with 720x1600 resolution, 90 Hz refresh rate and 570-nit brightness, 4/6/8GB of RAM, and 64/128/256GB of expandable storage. vivo T3 Lite vivo T4 5G vivo T4x Source
