The 22-year-old briefly trained with Andre Agassi, after he had reached out to the legend to help hone his skills in the lead-up to the final Major of the year, the US Open.
Danish tennis star Holger Rune trained with American legend Andre Agassi for a three-day block ahead of the DC Open in Washington.
The 22-year-old expressed his gratitude to the eight-time Grand Slam winner, Agassi, after he had reached out to the legend to help hone his skills in the lead-up to the final Major of the year, the US Open.
'It was nice. We've been in touch for a while, and we did a couple of days together here in Washington, where he was helping me with a few things, giving his opinion," Rune opened up.
'It was really a big pleasure. He's a very, very wise man. I've never met a guy who sees the game this way," he added.
World No.8 Rune revealed that the legend handed him pointers that could help boost the level of his game in a short time span.
'Obviously he had an amazing return himself and I also return well and he had a few tips there and how I can be slightly better there and then in general about the game."
'It was a really short period but definitely he gave me an insight of where he sees me in the future, where he sees me now and obviously there's a lot of things to improve."
'He helped me to get my focus and my eyes on the right things, together with my coach Lars Christensen. It was really cool to spend some days with him," the Dane added.
'I've watched a lot of him on YouTube and his style and the way of playing was amazing. His career speaks for itself," he continued.
'He's a great man, so I would definitely like that," said Rune when quizzed if he would like to team up with the American sometime again.

AC Milan Boss Hails Modric: 'Top Player.. Technical Brilliance And Leadership'

Last Updated: AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri announced Luka Modric will join the team in August, missing the pre-season tour. AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri disclosed that Luka Modric will join the team in August, which is why he has been left out of the squad that traveled to Singapore for their first pre-season friendly. Modric joined the Serie A side after contributing to Real Madrid's journey to the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup. Consequently, he was omitted from the squad for their pre-season tour, which includes stops in Hong Kong and Perth after facing Arsenal on July 23 to play against Liverpool and Perth Glory. 'We expect him to join us in August. He's a top player who will add technical brilliance and leadership to the squad," said Allegri in the pre-game press conference. Who Is Luka Modric? Since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012, Modric overcame a challenging start to become a legendary figure at Real Madrid. With nearly 600 appearances and almost 30 major trophies, including a record six UEFA Champions League titles and four La Liga crowns, Modric's impact has been monumental. Allegri has returned to AC Milan, having previously managed the team for a four-year stint between 2010 and 2014, during which he led them to a Serie A title in 2010/11 and won the Italian Supercup the following year. Allegri's latest tenure as head coach was with Juventus from 2021 to 2024, marking his second stint with the team. In his first stint, he won five consecutive Serie A titles from 2014/15 to 2018/19 and guided the team to two Champions League finals. Milan reappointed Allegri after Conceicao's five-month tenure left the team without European football next season. The Italian coach is optimistic despite this setback, focusing on the positives. 'It's a different situation than it was 15 years ago. It's not only football that has changed, but the world in general. The positive aspect of not playing in the Champions League is that we'll have more time to work and build a team. The negative is that we're not playing on the big stage. But I'm a glass-half-full kind of guy, so we have time and the chance to work on qualifying. I'm confident in my players, because I think this is a talented group with a good mindset," he added. India Scared Of England's Batting? Harry Brook Makes Big Claim Before 4th Test

Last Updated: Harry Brook believes India were 'scared' of England's chasing ability, leading them to set a 'ridiculous' target in the second Test. England's Harry Brook believes India were 'scared' of his team's chasing ability in the second Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, which led them to set a 'ridiculous' total for the hosts. India secured a 180-run lead in the first innings of that Test and used the significant amount of time left in the match to bat till just before Stumps on the fourth day, setting a target of 608. Some felt it was a gamble that Indian bowlers would be able to bowl England out in just over three sessions. Whereas others thought it was a well-thought-out tactic to entice Ben Stokes and Co. to go after a target they can't reach and extract mistakes. It worked and England were out for just 271. But Brook felt it was more due to fear of them successfully chasing 372 in the first Test at Headingley, even saying that it gave them 'confidence' for the third match. 'We saw them set a ridiculous total for us at Edgbaston. They were a little bit scared of setting us a total that we could potentially get. So that played into our favour and gave us a lot of confidence as well, going into other games going forward," Brook said. He believes that the confidence reflected in England's narrow, 22-run win at Lord's where there bowlers kept the effort up in a variety of conditions and snatched all available points. 'Chasing that total at Headingley was an unbelievable win as well. And then obviously last time, the fight and determination we showed to get that last wicket, and the skills and patience that Stokes showed as well throughout that period where we couldn't quite find a wicket, it was awesome to watch. I'm sure it kept everybody on the edge of their seat," he added. England now lead the series 2-1 with two Tests to go. India, despite being bogged down by injuries to players like Akash Deep and Nitish Kumar Reddy, will aim to settle the score at Old Trafford when the fourth Test begins on July 23. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
