Meet the ultimate Audi RS 6 Avant: Only 85 are coming to the U.S.

Race and rally cars are just plain cool. Seeing the pinnacle of an automaker's engineering abilities distilled into a single automobile is sheer bliss. Audi has made some of the best rally cars around, with its Group B cars arguably being its most recognizable models. The German automaker also participated in IMSA with the 1989 Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO, a five-cylinder, 720-hp behemoth. The 2025 Audi RS 6 Avant GT is the company's tribute to the 90 quattro IMSA GTO car, and is touted as the fastest RS 6 Avant to date. This AWD speed wagon is powered by a 4.0L biturbo V8, outputting 621 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox with optimized shift times.
It can propel itself from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and top out at 190 mph. Stopping power comes from its massive 16.5-inch front and 14.6-inch rear carbon-ceramic brakes.
Other special additions to the RS 6 Avant GT include three-way adjustable coilovers, a tuned Quattro sport rear differential, exclusive 22-inch 6-spoke Avus wheels painted in Ibis White, and a rear spoiler. Despite the racing-focused additions, the RS 6 Avant GT is 88 lb lighter than the RS 6 Avant Performance.Design-wise, this special edition Audi has a redesigned front fascia, lower splitter, side sills, and rear diffuser, as well as unique carbon-fiber front fenders and hood.
Each U.S.-bound RS 6 Avant GT is finished in Arkona White with the red/gray/black racing-heritage livery and RS badging.
Inside, passengers are greeted by RS sport seats wrapped in Valcona leather with an RS 6 GT logo, featuring red and copper double stitching, and complemented by Crimson Red seatbelts. The Alcantara steering wheel, sides of the center console, the center armrest, and door armrests all sport the same red and copper double stitching.
Even the floormats feature RS 6 GT lettering as does the center-console badge that displays your particular example's number out of 660.
Unlike the regular RS 6 Avant, the special edition GT leaves the Neckarsulm production line after body construction works and paint. Each unit heads to Böllinger Höfe, where models such as the Audi R8 and the RS e-tron GT are built.
Final assembly is carried out by seven experienced craftspeople at three assembly stations set up especially for this exclusive special edition, spending an entire day on site. All GT-specific features are fitted by hand, including the hood, fenders, rocker panels, double wing, the front and rear aprons, and the adjustable coilover suspension.Of course, such a tremendous automobile is a limited affair, with only 85 units produced in the U.S. and 660 globally. The Audi RS 6 Avant GT was released in late 2024 with an MSRP of $198,900, but good luck finding one on the second-hand market.
Given its limited release, used examples will undoubtedly command a premium when they do hit sites like Bring a Trailer or Cars & Bids. Do you think a tribute like this is worth the near $200,000 price tag, or would it need to have a lot more added features for that kind of dough?

The Porsche 911 GT3 R Racer Grows More Aggressive With an Updated Design, New Louvers

Two years ago, Porsche rolled out a new 911 GT3 R built to the 992-generation body style. That car won multiple championships in its first season, including the top GT3 class titles in both IMSA and the FIA World Endurance Championship. Never one to rest on its laurels, however, Porsche is now already introducing an updated car set to compete in GT3 categories next year. Porsche racing nomenclature can get a little bit confusing, so it is worth noting that the 911 GT3 R is the race car built for the GT3 class. This is in contrast to the 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 RS, two road cars, and the spec racers that compete in various Carrera Cup championships. Porsche also used to run a 911 GT3 RSR in the GT2 and later GTE classes, but the end of that category of racing has meant the end of that particular nine-character alphanumeric. GT3 racing generally runs off series-specific balance-of-performance updates that change throughout a season, so control, durability, and performance in a variety of conditions are more important goals than all-out, single-lap speed. With that in mind, Porsche says that the revised GT3 R was built for easier handling and driveability. That starts with new front fender louvers, which the brand says are designed to work with the double wishbone front suspension to counteract front-end compression during deceleration and keep the car's aerodynamic platform balanced. A new rear wing Gurney flap and modified rear axle kinematics are also part of the update, both increasing the range of available adjustments and improving the load distribution between axles. Other updates include additional cooling for the power steering system, new ceramic wheel bearings, and new cooling ducts specifically used for drive shafts. These iterations, along with new features like a data logger that records directly to a USB stick that can be swapped during pit stops, will help racing teams with specific problems they encounter during race weekends. Additionally, the brand is making some optional packages from the last model standard on all new 911 GT3 R purchases. Since GT3 cars run everything from all-amateur track days to 24-hour all-pro endurance races, the new 911 GT3 R has to handle a wide variety of problems that could be encountered in open-track running, during wheel-to-wheel racing, and even when completing hasty rebuilds after in-race crashes. This is the challenge of modern GT3 racing, and the latest Porsche racer is designed to meet all of those problems head-on. Price hike for used diesels as new car supply dries up

The values of some used diesel cars are actually increasing despite the fading appeal of the powertrain in the new car market, say leading vehicle valuation experts. In the first half of 2025, just 58,722 new diesels were registered, down 11.3% on 2024. This continues a decline that can be traced to 2017, amid the fallout from the Dieselgate scandal and concerns about future vehicle taxation and emissions penalties. Diesel's days appear numbered. Only a few car makers still produce diesel models – among them Audi, BMW and JLR (especially with the Defender) – and other types, such as petrol, hybrid and battery-electric vehicles, are experiencing rising demand. For most diesel models, this is reflected in increased rates of depreciation, but, bucking this trend, some have actually increased in value over what they were worth a year ago. For example, according to Cap HPI, a three-year-old diesel Honda HR-V with 60,000 miles is worth 11.3% more today than the same model was at the same point last year. In addition, the value of an equivalent Mercedes CLS has risen 8% and a Ford Mondeo 6.5%. Explaining the figures, Dylan Setterfield, head of forecast strategy at Cap HPI, said: 'There is still demand for diesel in the used market from both consumers and dealers, with fuel economy continuing to be a significant factor for high-mileage drivers. 'New [diesel] car volumes have been decreasing for some time, and this is translating into reduced used car volumes. We expect these reductions to be partially offset by the ongoing reduction in consumer demand and that prices will behave similarly to petrol [car prices] in the next few years.' However, the market is experiencing wild valuation extremes and some models are instead depreciating at higher than expected rates compared with what they were worth last year. Those suffering the biggest falls in value include the Ssangyong Korando 2.2D, with a three-year-old example with 60,000 miles worth 24.5% less. An equivalent Vauxhall Astra is down 20.2% in value and a Range Rover Evoque down 12.7%. These losses are atop the models' regular year-on-year depreciation. Setterfield said: 'The Korando's falls seem to have been caused by uncertainty and confusion in the marketplace as the brand transitioned from Ssangyong to KGM. Astra diesels with above-average mileage are now suffering increased penalties, while the Evoque's figure can be explained by an increase in used volumes following a shortage of supply.' Consumers unsure about buying a diesel are unlikely to be reassured by these wild extremes. Fortunately, these cars aside, the bulk of the sector is actually quite stable, with the average three-year-old diesel worth just 2.1% less than its equivalent 12 months ago. The equivalent figure for a petrol car is 1.3% less. At 12 months and 20,000 miles, their positions are reversed, with the diesel worth 1.4% less and the petrol 1.6% less. Philip Nothard, insight director at Cox Automotive International, a vehicle auction and remarketing company, welcomed the return of stability to most areas of the diesel market. He said: 'After the highs of the immediate post-Covid years, when even two- to four-year-old diesels were worth 73% of their new price and ones less than a year old 98%, order is returning to the market. In 2023, diesel values fell at a steeper rate than petrol as sentiment shifted to the latter and, thanks to tax changes, to some extent also to EVs. 'The fall in the sales of new diesels that year means that today, there are only155,000 three-year-old diesels on the road. Values are sliding but just about holding firm, with two- to four-year-old diesels currently worth around 51% of their new price compared with petrol cars at 58%. Electric cars are worth around 36%.' The shortage of used diesels and the stability of their values are reflected on dealer forecourts. Motorpoint is a leading car supermarket and typically stocks around 5000 cars, most no older than four years. Currently, only around 350 of them are diesels and diesel hybrids. They include a 2023 Audi A4 35 TDI S Line S Tronic with 14,500 miles for £22,699 and a 2022 Ford Kuga 1.5 Ecoblue ST-Line X with 17,000 miles for £19,999. Motorpoint Group CEO Mark Carpenter believes that although demand for diesels has fallen considerably, the declining number of new ones being produced means that used examples will soon be the only ones readily available to customers. However, he doesn't expect that any future increase in demand for them will necessarily trigger a steep rise in their prices. He said: 'While any uplift in demand for used diesel vehicles will have some impact on prices, with fewer new diesel cars on the road, used diesel stock will continue to get older, reducing its appeal for motorists wanting a nearly new car.' ]]>

2026 Honda Civic Si Review: Expert Insights, Pricing, and Trims

Neither as gnarly nor as expensive as the mighty Type R, the 2026 Honda Civic Si deserves credit for being the first performance Civic in the U.S. Today, the sport sedan still packs a lot of fun for the price, offering sharp handling, a turbocharged engine, and a manual transmission. Small athletic sedan competitors include the Hyundai Elantra N Line, Mazda 3 sedan, Volkswagen Jetta GLI, and Kia K4 GT-Line Turbo. What's New After a year of offering a stickier summer tire option for the Civic Si, Honda has pulled it off the menu, so there's only one version of the sedan once again. This generation of the Si arrived for 2022 with a broader torque curve, the Civic Type R's rev-matching transmission, trim-specific spoilers, sport seats, Blazing Orange Pearl exterior paint, and a new customizable Individual drive mode setting. What We Think Although it doesn't match the outright speed of the full-tilt Type R, the Civic Si delivers sharp handling, a limited-slip differential, and a satisfyingly athletic feel, albeit with trade-offs like a firm ride and noticeable tire noise at highway speeds. In a market dominated by automatics, the fact that the Si still comes standard with a six-speed manual feels almost miraculous. Still, some enthusiasts may miss the affordable summer tire package offered last year, which is absent from this model. Like its Civic siblings, the Si benefits from clean styling, strong fuel economy, and a generous suite of standard driver assistance features. However, Honda missed a chance to enhance the sporty vibe with more distinctive drive screen customization. Overall, the Civic Si remains a highly approachable sport compact—and a natural stepping stone for those considering the even higher-performance Civic Type R. Top-Ranked Competitors: Hyundai Elantra N Line Mazda 3 2.5 S Sedan Kia K4 GT-Line Turbo Volkswagen Jetta GLI MotorTrend Tested Preceding generations of Civic Si came with a naturally aspirated 2.0- or 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine (older models came with even smaller non-turbo engines), but the current variant boasts a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four. It produces 200 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. Like all Civics, the Si is FWD only, and this is one of the few that comes with a six-speed manual (most Civics come with an automatic transmission). In MotorTrend testing, the 2025 model can launch to 60 mph in 7.4 seconds. That's off the pace of a similar 2022 model, which can do the same in a quicker 7.1 seconds. That's also how quick the K4 GT-Line Turbo is to 60 mph. The FWD Kia compact sedan features a slightly bigger 1.6-liter turbo-four that makes less horsepower (190 hp) but more torque (195 lb-ft). MPGs and Range For an athletic turbo model, Civic Si fuel economy isn't terrible. EPA ratings come in at 27/37 mpg city/highway. The sport sedan can travel as far as 384 miles with a full tank of gas. The K4 Turbo isn't too far off. Fuel economy measures 26/36 mpg, and total range is as much as 360 miles. Safety Ratings and Features In its most recent safety testing for the 2025 model year, the Civic sedan earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick, the institute's second highest distinction. It also nabbed an NHTSA five-star overall safety rating. Standard Honda Sensing active safety features include: Automatic emergency braking Lane keeping Adaptive cruise control Traffic sign recognition Blind-spot monitoring Rear cross-traffic monitoring Automatic high-beams Cargo Space and Interior Room The Civic Si, Kia K4, and Mazda 3 sedan share identical front legroom measurements. Rear legroom and cargo capacity compare favorably to the Mazda. Technology Infotainment The Civic Si comes in a single specification that includes a 10.2-inch driver display and 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Two USB-C ports for the front seats and a 12-volt outlet are also standard. Sound System All Civic Si models come with a Bose 12-speaker arrangement that includes a subwoofer. Available Upgrades The only Civic Si add-ons are dealer-installed options like a trunk tray, splash guards, floormats, and wheel locks. Value Standard Features The spiciest non-Type R Civic is built with a potent little turbo engine and a manual transmission packing a standard limited-slip differential—all for a lot less than the CTR. What Does the 'Si' Mean in Civic Si? It stands for "Sport Injected." Back in the 1980s, it was used to show that the Civic had upgraded from a carburetor to fuel injection—a big deal for performance back then. These days, fuel injection is standard on pretty much every car, but Honda kept the "Si" badge to mark the Civic's sportier, more performance-focused version.
