There Bayern were drawn against Celtic and needed a late equaliser in the second leg to avoid extra-time, taking the tie 3-2 on aggregate. Things were a bit more straightforward in the last 16 though, as Bayern beat German rivals Bayer Leverkusen 5-0 across the two legs.
This game sees a repeat of the 2010 final, when Inter last lifted the trophy. The Italians have been tough to beat in the Champions League this season, finishing fourth in the group with six wins, one draw and one defeat. They boasted the toughest defence in the group, conceding just one goal. They conceded one goal in the last 16 too, but that came with a 4-1 aggregate victory over Feyenoord. They now hold the upper hand after their 2-1 win in Germany, and with an impressive defensive European record, they will be confident of seeing the job through.
Inter hold a six point lead at the top of Serie A, although their closest rivals Napoli have a game in hand. The side have picked up four wins from their last five games, with a draw against Parma being the only thing keeping them from holding a perfect record coming into this game.

The Nerazzurri signed the Italian international from Sassuolo. Frattesi has certainly had his ups and downs during his two seasons at Inter.
