Inter Milan vs Bayern Munich predictions, odds, betting tips and team news
Inter Milan will host Bayern Munich at the San Siro on Wednesday, April 16th, for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie. The game kicks off at 20:00 and will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 2.
The Italian side managed a 2-1 win in the first leg with goals from Lautaro Martinez and Davide Frattesi, while Thomas Muller was on the scoresheet for Bayern in his final season with the club. Inter are the 1/3 favourites with most bookmakers to progress to the final four of the Champions League, and for those looking to get Bayern on-side, 9/4 is available.
Lautaro Martinez Anytime Scorer (15/8 with Sky Bet)
Champions League fans were treated to some incredible goals in the first leg ties, with one of those coming from Lautaro Martinez when he opened the scoring with a beautiful outside-of-the-foot finish.

The Argentine has been in excellent form in the Champions League and has scored on each of his last four appearances in the competition, including a hat-trick against Monaco in the final league phase game. Martinez has a further 11 goals in Serie A this season and can once again trouble the German defence on Wednesday.
Konrad Laimer to be Carded (7/4 with Paddy Power)
No player has been shown more cards in the Bundesliga for Bayern this season than Konrad Laimer, who looks a strong proposition to be carded in this clash. The Austrian averages a card every 175 minutes in the Bundesliga this season, with seven cautions in total. He has also been booked twice in the Champions League and found his way into the book in the DFB-Pokal earlier in the campaign.

How both teams go into Inter Milan vs Bayern Munich
In the Bundesliga, Bayern have been their usual imperious selves and currently sit top of the league by six points with six games remaining. They've hit a couple of speedbumps along the way recently, falling to a defeat against Bochum and only managing a draw against Union Berlin but they got back to top form in the two games since, beating St Pauli and Augsburg, scoring six goals in the process.

Bayern will still be confident that they can turn this tie around after the 2-1 defeat in the first leg. The final is being held at their Allianz Arena this term, but they have not shone in the competition like in other years. Kompany's side finished 12th in the group stage with five wins and three defeats, so had to go through the knockout phase play-offs. There Bayern were drawn against Celtic and needed a late equaliser in the second leg to avoid extra-time, taking the tie 3-2 on aggregate. Things were a bit more straightforward in the last 16 though, as Bayern beat German rivals Bayer Leverkusen 5-0 across the two legs.
This game sees a repeat of the 2010 final, when Inter last lifted the trophy. The Italians have been tough to beat in the Champions League this season, finishing fourth in the group with six wins, one draw and one defeat. They boasted the toughest defence in the group, conceding just one goal. They conceded one goal in the last 16 too, but that came with a 4-1 aggregate victory over Feyenoord. They now hold the upper hand after their 2-1 win in Germany, and with an impressive defensive European record, they will be confident of seeing the job through.
Inter hold a six point lead at the top of Serie A, although their closest rivals Napoli have a game in hand. The side have picked up four wins from their last five games, with a draw against Parma being the only thing keeping them from holding a perfect record coming into this game.
Inter Milan team news
After missing the first leg, Denzel Dumfries could be back for Inter by the time this game comes around, but Stefan de Vrij remains a doubt.
Bayern Munich team news
Bayern should have Manuel Neuer back in time for this game, after Jonas Urbig played in goal in the 2-1 defeat against Inter a few days ago. Alphonso Davies is out for the season with an ACL injury, while Dayot Upamecano is also sidelined until the summer.
Bayern Munich vs Inter Milan head-to-head
This will be the 11th meeting between these two sides, with Bayern and Inter most recently facing off in the 2022-23 Champions League group stage prior to this quarter-final. Bayern hold the advantage with five wins to four, but Inter do have the 2-0 victory in the 2009-10 Champions League final.

They report that the asking price would be €50 million, whilst the Premier League could be another destination. Roma had seemingly taken midfielder Manu Kone off of the market this past week. (Photo by Juan Manuel) According to Il Messaggero, however, behind the scenes Roma are still wavering. The reason for this is that the Giallorossi still want to do a fair bit of incoming transfer business. And at the moment, the financial margins are not really there. Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini openly admitted yesterday that he's not certain about Kone's future. He didn't hide that he wants more signings before the transfer window closes. Il Messaggero report that Roma want a fee of at least €50 million for Kone. Apart from Inter, the newspaper name Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich as potential suitors for the 24-year-old. Then, the Premier League would also be a possibility.

Neom Coach Galtier Not Hiding Interest In Inter Milan Star: ‘We've Tried To Convince Him'

Neom coach Christophe Galtier does not hide the fact that his club are hoping to sign Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard. The French coach spoke after his team's friendly clash with Roma yesterday, via FCInterNews. He also acknowledged that Neom would face competition for the 29-year-old's signature. Recent reports have suggested that Inter are ready to sell Benjamin Pavard. Inter signed Pavard two years ago from Bayern Munich. And the France international has certainly had his part to play, helping the Nerazzurri to the Serie A title in his first season at the club. But perhaps Pavard, who turns thirty next season, is not in line with the future of Inter's project. The likes of Galatasaray and Lille have shown an interest. And it is not just these European clubs who have reportedly identified Pavard as a target. From the Saudi Pro League, Neom have also reportedly emerged as suitors for the 2018 World Cup winner. 'He's a fantastic player,' the former Paris Saint-Germain coach said. 'I know him well both as a player and as a man.' Galtier acknowledged that 'we've tried to convince him to join.' 'But Benjamin: If you want to come here, you're always welcome,' Galtier said with a smile.

Report – Inter Milan Reject Newcastle United Advances For Italy Midfielder

Inter Milan have reportedly rejected an advance from Premier League club Newcastle United for midfielder Davide Frattesi. This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. Midfielder Davide Frattesi has been an Inter player since the summer of 2023. The Nerazzurri signed the Italian international from Sassuolo. Frattesi has certainly had his ups and downs during his two seasons at Inter. The 25-year-old has had a knack for scoring important goals. He scored crucial late winners against Hellas Verona and Udinese when Inter won the title in his first season at the club. Then, last season, Frattesi popped up with the extra time winner against Barcelona in the Champions League semifinals. However, Frattesi never managed to nail down a starting place under Simone Inzaghi. Therefore, it was no secret that the Italian wanted to leave the club. (Photo by) Had Inzaghi stayed on as Inter coach, then it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Frattesi would've left. However, Inzaghi left for the riches of Al-Hilal. And therefore, it appears that Frattesi has a new lease on life at Inter under coach Cristian Chivu. Accordingly, Inter reportedly want to keep hold of Frattesi. So much so that they are even working to extend the midfielder's contract. That does not mean, however, that there is not transfer interest in the 25-year-old. According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Premier League side Newcastle United have approached Inter about the possibility of signing Frattesi. However, the newspaper report, Inter rebuffed this interest.
