Google's AI ‘Flight Deals' Search Promises To Help You Save Money On Tickets: Here's How
Looking for best flight deals online and want AI to help you find them? Google claims it has the best solution for your needs and it is called Flight Deals. The company is spreading its AI wings and showing off the technology to help people find better deals for their travel plans.
If your main aim is to save money on flight tickets, this new AI search tool promises to do the best and all you have to do is give it the right text prompts and see the answers unfold in front of your eyes.
Flight deals search is coming for users in the US, Canada, and India over the next few weeks. It will work on both web and mobile for these users and you can access it via the Flight Deals page.
Google's AI Flight Deal Feature: How It Works
Google says Flight Deals will be using its advanced AI models to understand the exact context of what the person is looking for and then rely on its live Google Flights data to give you the relevant and latest results.
As you can see here, this is what the Flight Deals search interface will offer and the search tab will have the Gemini-powered way to understand your needs and give you the flight details based on that and also the budget you have set. 'You can describe when, where and how you'd like to travel and Flight Deals will take care of the rest," Google highlights in its post.
But does the availability of Flight deals mean the end of the regular Flights feature from Google? The company says Flight Deals is currently an experiment to see how AI can improve travel planning and assures the classic Google Flights is here to stay.
It has even suggested using prompts like 'week-long trip this winter to a city with great food, nonstop only," to get the best flight ticket results from the AI-powered search tool.

The Data Center Coalition, which represents data center owners including Google, Amazon and Microsoft, called on U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to uphold existing rules for wind and solar energy subsidies, saying they have enabled the industry to grow quickly and stay ahead of competition from China. Between 2017 and 2023, the U.S. data center industry contributed $3.5 trillion to the nation's gross domestic product and directly employed over 600,000 workers, according to the DCC. The Treasury Department is expected to issue updated guidelines as soon as August 18.

Analyst Dan Ives's blunt take on Apple AI; says ‘No one on the Street believes…'
Apple's artificial intelligence (AI) strategy is a 'disaster' and the company is falling far behind rivals such as Microsoft, Google, Meta and OpenAI, Wedbush analyst Dan Ives said in an interview with Bloomberg Tech. Ives said that Apple's internal AI efforts have failed to impress, pointing to Siir as an example. 'Nothing's going to happen internally,' he said, adding, 'It's not happening internally and there's no one on the Street that believes any innovation is coming out of Apple when it comes to AI organically.' Speaking on the show, Dan Ives reiterated that Apple will need acquisitions and partnerships to stay competitive. 'They're going to have to do an acquisition. I mean, look, it's the reality of the situation,' he said. He has previously suggested a three-pronged plan for Apple: acquire AI search firm Perplexity, recruit top AI talent, and consider integrating Google's Gemini AI. ED raids Tamil Nadu Minister I Periyasamy, son in money laundering case
Last Updated: Chennai, Aug 16 (PTI) The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday searched multiple premises linked to Tamil Nadu Minister and DMK leader I Periyasamy and his MLA son as part of a money laundering investigation, official sources said. The raids were undertaken in Chennai and Dindigul under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The premises of I P Sentilkumar, the son of the 72-year-old minister for rural development, panchayats and panchayat unions, were also searched, according to the sources. Periyasamy represents the Athoor assembly constituency in Dindigul district. There was no immediate comment from Periyasamy or the DMK on the ED action. The money laundering investigation stems from an April order of the Madras High Court, which directed a special court in Dindigul to frame charges against Periyasamy and his family members in connection with a Rs 2.1 crore 'disproportionate" assets case. The order came in response to some criminal revision petitions filed by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), challenging a special court order discharging Periyasamy and his family members from the case. The HC also directed the special court to conduct the trial on a day-to-day basis and complete it within six months. The prosecution's case was that Periyasamy had amassed wealth to the tune of Rs 2.1 crore in his name and in the names of his wife, P Suseela and sons P Sentilkumar and P Prabhu, disproportionate to his known sources of income when he was a minister between 2006 and 2010.
