Audiobooks+ is now available in several more countries |

Countries where the Audiobooks+ add-on subscription is now available:
Australia
Austria
Belgium
Canada
France
Germany
Liechtenstein
Luxembourg
New Zealand
United Kingdom
Spotify announced that Audiobooks+ is available in the UK for £9 per month, but that's all we know so far. The add-on subscription is not yet available in the United States, but Spotify says it will bring this option to Spotify Premium customers in the country in the 'coming weeks.'
Audiobooks+ : Available to Premium Individual subscribers as well as Family and Duo plan managers, this add-on unlocks an additional 15 hours of listening each month for the existing base plan.
: Available to Premium Individual subscribers as well as Family and Duo plan managers, this add-on unlocks an additional 15 hours of listening each month for the existing base plan.
Audiobooks+ for Plan Members : For the first time, additional members on Premium Family and Duo can access 15 hours of monthly audiobook listening through this recurring add-on. They can also purchase a one-time 10-hour top-up if they run out of hours before their monthly billing cycle refreshes.
Spotify's new plan options aren't that competitive
Launched back in 2023, Spotify's Audiobooks service had a positive effect on audiobook sales. According to a survey by the Audiobook Publishers Association, audiobook sales grew by 13 percent in 2024, with 99 percent of the revenues generated by digital audiobooks.
More importantly, Spotify's publishing partners specifically name Spotify as a key contributor to the growth. Despite that, Spotify's Audiobooks plans are nowhere near as good as Audible, probably the best service aimed at those who love reading.
Audible offers two subscription options, which are both superior to anything that Spotify has launched to date:
Audible Plus :
Unlimited listening: Members can stream or download any title from the Plus Catalog.
Cost: $7.95 per month.
Content: Includes audiobooks, podcasts, and Audible Originals.
Titles: A constantly updated catalog of thousands of titles.
Audible Premium Plus :
Includes everything in Audible Plus, plus credits for premium selection titles.
Cost: Starts at $14.95 per month.
Credits: One credit per month for a premium selection title, which is yours to keep forever.
Exclusive sales and discounts: Members get access to sales and discounts on additional premium selections.
In comparison, Spotify's select Premium plans include 15 hours of audiobook listening time every month. The cheapest Premium plan that includes that many hours of listening time costs $10.99 in the United States.
Since Audiobooks+ is not yet available in the US yet, we can't accurately compare it with Audible, but let's just put its price at around $10 just because Spotify is offering the plan in the UK for £9.
Audible's plan options |
Screenshot by PhoneArena
That means that for 30 hours of listening time, Spotify customers will have to pay around $21 per month. But if you keep your Spotify Premium plan and pick Audible Plus instead of Audiobooks+, you get unlimited listening and pay about $19 per month.
If you're a UK resident, it's easier to compare the two subscription options. Audible Premium Plus costs £9, the exact same price as Spotify announced for Audiobooks+, while Audible Standard is available for £6.
In order for Spotify to make Audiobooks+ more appealing it needs to either lower the price or make it unlimited. However, based on its actions, Spotify has no intention of competing with other audiobooks services and is relying on the fact that Audible is only available in several regions like Canada, Ireland, United Kingdom, and United States.

Spotify has just announced plans to bring its Audiobooks+ service to more countries after the successful initial trials launched earlier this year. Audiobooks+ will be slowly rolled out to several European countries, as well as Australia and New Zealand.Initially introduced in Canada and Ireland, Audiobooks+ allows Spotify Premium users to listen to an additional 15 hours of audiobooks included in the service's catalog. This is added on top of the hours of listening time per month included in Premium Individual and Family plans.Typically, Spotify Premium plans include 15 hours of audiobook listening time per month from a catalog of over 250,000. Customers can buy top-ups if they need more audiobook listening time. With Audiobooks+, the total hours of audiobook listening time per month reaches 30 for Premium Individual subscribers, as well as Family and Duo plan managers. However, Audiobooks+ doesn't come for free, so you'll have to pay a monthly fee on top of your Spotify Premium subscription.

Samsung's hugely successful Galaxy A56 5G mid-ranger is up for grabs in the US at last
After reportedly striking gold at the European box-office, Samsung's best 2025 mid-range smartphone is today making its highly anticipated (by some) and long overdue (by all standards) US commercial debut. Unlocked, 128GB Storage, 8GB RAM, Exynos 1580 Processor, 6.7-Inch Super AMOLED Display with 2340 x 1080 Pixel Resolution and 120Hz Refresh Rate Technology, IP67 Water and Dust Resistance, Android 15, 50 + 12 + 5MP Triple Rear-Facing Camera System, 12MP Single Front-Facing Camera, 5,000mAh Battery, 45W Charging Capabilities, Two Color Options Buy at Samsung Unlocked, 128GB Storage, 8GB RAM, Exynos 1580 Processor, 6.7-Inch Super AMOLED Display with 2340 x 1080 Pixel Resolution and 120Hz Refresh Rate Technology, IP67 Water and Dust Resistance, Android 15, 50 + 12 + 5MP Triple Rear-Facing Camera System, 12MP Single Front-Facing Camera, 5,000mAh Battery, 45W Charging Capabilities, Awesome Graphite Color, $50 E-Gift Card Included Buy at BestBuy The 6.7-inch phone with a homebrewed Exynos 1580 processor under the hood and 8GB RAM can be purchased stateside for the time being only from Best Buy and its manufacturer's official regional e-store starting at $499.99. That's enough for an entry-level 128GB storage variant, with double the local digital hoarding room setting you back just 50 bucks more on Samsung's US website. Coated in "Awesome Graphite" and "Awesome Lightgray" colors (which, between you and me, are not the most eye-catching paint jobs possible for a Samsung phone nowadays), the Galaxy A56 5G clearly takes most of its cosmetic cues from last year's Galaxy A55 5G mid-ranger rather than this year's high-end Galaxy S25 family. Interestingly, the camera island at the back looks... unique, giving the budget-friendly device a somewhat unexpected air of distinction and elegance. Unfortunately, $499.99 is simply not a very competitive price point in a market where the OnePlus 13R exists and Google's Pixel 9 is so easy to come by at a hefty discount. As highlighted in our comprehensive Samsung Galaxy A56 5G review a little while back, this is by no means a bad product, but it's not an exceptional one either, shining as far as long-term software support goes while delivering solid battery life, respectable (at best) overall performance, excellent charging speeds (for once), as well as limited AI capabilities (at least for the time being), mediocre audio quality, and unimpressive camera performance. In short, you're looking at a decidedly mixed bag here that probably needs more than a $50 gift card to overshadow the aforementioned OnePlus 13R and Pixel 9 or even Samsung's own Galaxy S24 FE as far as bang for buck is concerned. Switch to a 2-month Total 5G or 5G+ plan with Total Wireless and score this foldable deal. We may earn a commission if you make a purchase Check Out The Offer

This phone could've been the bold new flagship we needed
Nothing's third-generation phone doubles down on its visual identity with even more customizable LEDs, a distinct UI design, and a refined aesthetic that's unlike anything else in the Android space. It's easy to admire the ambition, and as someone who's craving something different, a break from the mold, I respect it. The Nothing Phone (3) wants to feel special, expressive, and fun in a sea of polished rectangles. But once you get past the unique presentation, it becomes clear that being different doesn't always mean being better, even more so when you're charging $800. We've tested the Phone (3) in-depth, comparing it to the best alternatives at its price, and the results aren't flattering. Whether it's the performance, camera quality, video capabilities, or even display brightness, Nothing's latest effort consistently lands behind the competition, sometimes by a significant margin. That makes it hard to recommend, no matter how much I'd like to root for the underdog. The two color options of the Phone (3). | Image credit — Nothing Let's start with the good. The design of the Nothing Phone (3) is undeniably striking, particularly for tech enthusiasts like us. The transparent back, enhanced Glyph lighting, and symmetrical borders still turn heads, and build quality remains top-notch. I dig it, as it reminds me of something from Star Wars. This phone was made to be seen and felt, not just also commendable that Nothing doesn't overload the phone with bloatware or visual clutter — the clean software skin and thoughtful haptics help it feel more premium than most mid-rangers. However, this attention to design doesn't change the fact that it's entering a segment ($800 and above) full of excellent phones that don't compromise on essentials, such as the Pixel 9, Galaxy S25, OnePlus 13, and the iPhone 16. And that's where the Nothing Phone (3) stumbles, hard. The Phone (3)'s screen looks good indoors, but outdoor brightness is well behind the competition. | Image credit — PhoneArena Despite its sleek look, the Phone (3)'s display doesn't impress when it comes to real-world performance. It's a 6.7-inch OLED panel with good resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate — all specs that sound great on paper. But in our lab tests, it had the lowest brightness levels at 20% APL (just 1501 nits) among its peers, meaning visibility outdoors suffers compared to rivals like the Pixel 9 or Galaxy S25 , both of which push brightness well over 2000 nits. At the other end of the scale, its minimum brightness was the highest (2 nits), making it less comfortable to use in bed or dim lighting. A surprising saving grace was the color accuracy, which turned out to be the best compared to the competition. That said, this is something that can vary drastically between units, so it is definitely not a guarantee that all other Nothing Phone (3) devices will show such results. The chip performance presents a similar mixed-bag type of situation. With a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip inside, the Phone (3) is finally using a flagship silicon — the first phone to use this chip. It easily beats the Pixel 9 's Tensor G4 and even Apple's A18 in some cases, but it is still nowhere close to the Snapdragon 8 Elite powering phones like the Galaxy S25 and OnePlus 13 . Our performance score confirmed the gap. The Phone (3) scored 7.6 in light tasks and 7.2 in heavy tasks. For comparison, the OnePlus 13 hits 9.0 in heavy workloads — a massive difference in responsiveness when gaming, multitasking, or using demanding apps. Despite stacked specs, the Phone (3) struggles with oversharpening, noise, and uneven image quality. | Image credit — PhoneArena On paper, the Nothing Phone (3) is stacked: it boasts a 50 MP main camera with a large 1/1.3" sensor and OIS, a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom, and a 50 MP ultrawide shooter with a 114˚ field of view. Even the selfie camera is a high-res 50 MP sensor. It's one of the most spec-heavy camera arrays you'll find at this price — but unfortunately, the real-world results don't match the all cameras, we noticed aggressive oversharpening that made images look unnaturally crisp, especially in skin tones and textures. While the main camera is capable of sharp images thanks to its large sensor, the processing often strips them of depth and realism. The ultrawide shots showed decent consistency in color but lacked fine detail. The periscope zoom lens is a nice surprise in this segment, but results were hit-or-miss — with good sharpness at 3X, but poor dynamic range and visible noise in lower clear the hardware is there, but Nothing's tuning holds it back. In a side-by-side comparison, the Pixel 9a consistently produced more balanced, natural-looking photos with better dynamic range and color handling. The OnePlus 13R, despite fewer lenses, delivered more reliable results in both photo and video. And let's not even start comparing it to the Galaxy S25 or iPhone 16 . Big battery, underwhelming results. | Image credit — PhoneArena Battery life should have been one of the few areas where the Nothing Phone (3) holds its own, given it's massive 5150 mAh battery and tuned software. But in our Nothing Phone (3) review, it scored only 6.7. Our tests showed an estimated battery life of just 6h 45 min. That's only a tad better than the iPhone 16 's 6h 21 min and close to the Pixel 9 's 6h 48 min. This doesn't sound bad until you remember that the iPhone and the Pixel have much smaller batteries. Charging, on the other hand, is actually one of the Phone (3)'s bright spots. It supports 65W wired charging and 15W wireless, and in our test it delivered one of the fastest top-ups in its class (around 1 hour), beating out the Pixel 9 and iPhone 16 , and even outpacing the Galaxy S25 . That said, the OnePlus 13 still reigns supreme here with even faster speeds and better thermal control. It's clear that Nothing has a strong identity and a vision for what phones should be — playful, expressive, and thoughtful in their design. The Nothing phone (3) is the closest Nothing has ever come to a true flagship phone. But for most users, especially those spending $800 and more, the core experience is what truly matters, and it is not quite polished at the 'flagship level' in this case. The Nothing Phone (3) is — as I've put it several times now — a mixed bag. If you go and purchase it, there will undoubtedly be some things you love about it, but also an equal amount that you get annoyed by. I would have a much easier time recommending it if it cost $700, as that price difference would have made sense considering the lack of polish. As it stands right now, though, I feel this is a product that is not well-rounded enough to be in this category. One last thing worth noting — while I personally enjoy gadgets with a bold, industrial aesthetic, the Nothing Phone (3) 's design definitely won't appeal to everyone. This kind of look is a double-edged sword: distinctive and refreshing to some, off-putting to others. And as the price climbs, that edge only gets sharper — just like the pool of potential buyers, which inevitably gets smaller.

Better yet, the surprisingly powerful OnePlus 13 is right there at an almost shockingly low price, and pretty much the same goes for the Motorola Razr (2024). That one remains an extraordinary budget-friendly alternative to Samsung's just-unveiled Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Flip 7 FE clamshells, while the OnePlus 13 is likely to be preferred by many Android power users to the ridiculously thin and still slightly-too-costly Galaxy S25 Edge. And let's not forget about the Nothing Phone (3), which has very recently made its US commercial debut at a cool $100 discount in a 512GB storage variant. $30 off (23%) Wi-Fi Only, 64GB Storage, 4GB RAM, MediaTek Helio G85 Processor, 8.7-Inch IPS Touchscreen with 1340 x 800 Pixel Resolution, Android 14, Guaranteed Android 15 Update, 8MP Rear-Facing Camera, 2MP Front-Facing Camera, Dual Speakers with Dolby Atmos Technology, 5,100mAh Battery, 15W Charging Support, 3.5mm Headphone Jack, Luna Grey Color Buy at Lenovo $110 off (28%) Wi-Fi Only, 128GB Storage, 8GB RAM, 12.7-Inch LCD Screen with 2944 x 1840 Pixel Resolution and 144Hz Refresh Rate Technology, Android 14, MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Processor, 10,200mAh Battery, 45W Charging Support, Quad JBL Speakers with Dolby Atmos, 13MP Rear-Facing Camera, 8MP Front-Facing Camera, Luna Grey Color, Lenovo Tab Pen Plus Included Buy at Lenovo Wi-Fi Only, 11-Inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD Screen with 2360 x 1640 Pixel Resolution, Apple A16 Processor, 128GB Storage, 12MP Rear-Facing Camera, 12MP Front-Facing Camera, Top-Mounted Fingerprint Scanner, All-Day Battery Life, USB Type-C Port, Four Color Options Buy at Amazon 256GB Storage, 12GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Processor, 8.8-Inch LTPS Display with 2560 x 1600 Pixel Resolution and 165Hz Refresh Rate Technology, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, Android 14, 6,550mAh Battery, 65W Charging, Two Superlinear Speakers with Stereo Audio and Dual X-Axis Haptics, 13 + 2MP Dual Rear-Facing Camera System, 8MP Front-Facing Camera, ColdFront Vapor Chamber Tech, Eclipse Black Color, Folio Case and Rapid Charge Adapter Included Buy at Amazon $100 off (13%) Wi-Fi Only, 256GB Storage, 16GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus Processor, 12-Inch Touchscreen with 2196 x 1464 Pixel Resolution and 90Hz Refresh Rate Technology, Windows 11, Windows Hello Face Authentication Camera, 10MP Rear-Facing Camera, 2W Stereo Speakers with Dolby Atmos Support, All-Day Battery Life, Two USB-C Ports, Platinum Color Buy at BestBuy $330 off (28%) Wi-Fi Only, 256GB Storage, 12GB RAM, MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ Processor, 14.6-Inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display with 2960 x 1848 Pixel Resolution and 120Hz Refresh Rate Technology, Galaxy AI, IP68 Water and Dust Resistance, 13 + 8MP Dual Rear-Facing Camera System, 12 + 12MP Dual Front-Facing Cameras, 11,200mAh Battery, 45W Charging, Four Speakers, MicroSD Card Slot, S Pen Included, Moonstone Gray Color Buy at Walmart Believe it or not, the Lenovo Tab One, Idea Tab Pro, and Legion Tab Gen 3 are all still available at lower-than-ever prices as part of the company's surprisingly lengthy "Black Friday in July" campaign. This is simply unbeatable, and it makes Samsung's objectively good smartwatch from last year more attractive than ever before... for an undoubtedly limited time. Of course, I can totally understand if you'll manage to resist the temptation and go for the Galaxy Watch 8 or Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) instead, although you do need to keep in mind that both of those products are likely to score better discounts in the relatively near future. The source? Trust me.
