Yemen's Ministry of Agriculture warns of environmental disaster following Dolphin Deaths in Socotra

Sana'a - SABA: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources strongly condemned what it described as an environmental crime along the coast of Socotra Island, after more than 80 dolphins were found beached in the Shu'ab area, many of them dead. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the Ministry noted that this is the second such incident in a short period and poses a serious ecological threat to the island's marine system. The Ministry emphasized that the repeated occurrence of this phenomenon cannot be considered natural or accidental, but rather a dangerous indicator of suspicious human activity and potential marine pollution, allegedly linked to illegal operations by foreign vessels in Yemeni waters. The statement specifically accused the UAE occupation forces of being behind these destructive activities, carried out under the guise of developmental projects with colonial motives. The Ministry suggested that chemical or acoustic marine pollution caused by large vessels and heavy maritime equipment could be a major factor, as such disturbances disrupt the dolphins' navigational senses, leading to erratic group behavior. The Ministry also stated that its environmental and technical teams are exploring other scientific hypotheses, including potential outbreaks of viral or bacterial diseases affecting the dolphins' nervous systems, or environmental factors such as disrupted ocean currents and changes in sea temperatures, which may have destabilized Socotra's surrounding ecosystem. The statement stressed that what is happening off the coast of Socotra is a deliberate assault on Yemen's marine resources and a blatant violation of national sovereignty. It held the UAE and other complicit foreign entities fully accountable for the escalating environmental crimes and their consequences. The Ministry called for an urgent national and international investigation to hold the responsible parties accountable. It also urged the United Nations and global environmental organizations to intervene immediately to protect the Socotra Archipelago, which is listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, from what it described as deliberate and systematic destruction. Lastly, the Ministry called on the citizens of Socotra, in particular, to remain vigilant and steadfast in defending their marine environment against all attempts at sabotage and exploitation. Palestinian Al-Ahrar Movement: "Anyone who thinks resistance in Gaza ended & will raise white flag is delusional"

Gaza – Saba: The Palestinian Al-Ahrar Movement affirmed on Wednesday evening its commitment to "national unity, which we urgently need in the face of this aggression and the war crimes committed against our children , women, amid international silence and full alignment with the Zionist occupation." In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the movement emphasized that "our unity lies in our cohesion, strengthening our steadfastness, and unifying our goal: confronting this occupation by all means, foremost among them armed resistance." The statement noted that "amid the ongoing Zionist aggression and genocide in Gaza, voices have emerged calling for the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Palestinian Authority to take over the administration of the Gaza Strip." In response, the movement asserted that "anyone who thinks the resistance in Gaza has ended and will raise the white flag is delusional. Our heroic fighters continue to shackle the Zionist enemy daily through deadly ambushes, unleashing hell with the stones of David, inflicting human and material losses on their soldiers, equipment, and Gideon forces. Resistance operations remain at their peak despite the scorched-earth policy implemented by the Zionist occupation army in Gaza." The statement added: "Once the war ends and the aggression against our people stops, the next day will be purely Palestinian. Through national consensus—and while we recognize that the PLO has been afflicted by senility and Alzheimer's—there is no harm in it assuming Gaza's affairs after restructuring and rebuilding its internal system, integrating all Palestinian factions, and forming an honorable stance aligned with our people's resilience and sacrifices. Without this, no party, regardless of its status, has the right to lead the Palestinian scene." The movement further stated: "We view these calls, at a time when our people's blood is being shed, as a systematic and reprehensible intelligence operation aimed at exploiting the current security situation to benefit the Authority at the expense of our people's suffering. These voices ignore the Authority's complete silence regarding the crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza, as well as documented reports and videos implicating some of its elements in security chaos, internal strife, and collaboration with the occupation. Their stance seems to say: 'When will Gaza be entered, even if on the back of a Zionist-American tank?'" The movement concluded: "Those demanding the Authority's rule over Gaza are either blind in sight and insight or complicit in its security, moral, and national collapse. Its disgraceful model of governance in the West Bank is evident to all, with its security agencies' violations against resistance fighters under the guise of 'sacred security coordination,' as declared by its leaders, and its crimes against our people—suppressing rights and freedoms while playing interchangeable roles with the occupation." Awqaf Authority launches "Ita'am" Project for poor, needy, & frontline defenders

Sana'a - Saba: The General Authority of Awqaf launched on Wednesday the "Ita'am" (Feeding) project by distributing 130 heads of cattle to the poor, needy, and frontline defenders. During the launch ceremony, attended by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Scholar Mohammed Miftah, the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi, praised the efforts and contributions of Awqaf Authority in addressing the needs of the poor, needy, and those defending the nation on the frontlines through humanitarian charity projects that alleviate their suffering and meet some of their needs. He emphasized the righteousness of Yemen's path under divine leadership, which has restored the country's dignity and honor. Minister Al-Saadi also highlighted Yemen's honorable stance in supporting the Palestinian people, a position made possible only by the wise leadership bestowed upon the nation by God. He urged Awqaf Authority to implement more charitable projects, especially under the current circumstances. For his part, the Chairman of the General Authority of Awqaf, Scholar Abdul-Majeed Al-Houthi, stated that the Authority has launched the "Ita'am" project for the fifth consecutive year, distributing sacrificial meat to the poor, needy, orphanages, centers for the blind, and frontline defenders, in line with its responsibility to manage endowment funds according to donors' intentions. He described the support provided to the frontline defenders and families of martyrs as modest compared to their sacrifices, which have shattered the false prestige of America. Al-Houthi noted that the Authority timed this project to coincide with Eid al-Adha, making the occasion one of generosity and giving. Scholar Al-Houthi stressed that a strong connection with God leads to sacrifice and benevolence, affirming that Yemen's absolute submission to God has enabled its people to stand firm in supporting Gaza and confronting the tyrants of the era, despite the immense sacrifices made. He reiterated Yemen's sincere stance, rooted in the fear of God, at a time when Arab and Islamic regimes have failed to aid their Palestinian brethren. "If the Yemeni people could deliver aid to Gaza, they would sacrifice their own provisions for their Palestinian brothers, who face genocide, starvation, and a criminal siege by the Zionist entity—amid shameful silence from Islamic nations and disgraceful inaction by Arab regimes," he said. In turn, the Secretary-General of the Yemeni Scholars Association, Scholar Taha Al-Hadhari, and the Director of Al-Nour Center for the Blind, Hassan Ismail, commended the Awqaf Authority's dedication to implementing charitable projects targeting the poor and frontline defenders, particularly on this sacred religious occasion. They emphasized the importance of such initiatives in alleviating the suffering of the needy, highlighting how the Authority's projects foster social solidarity , reflect the compassion of Islam and humanity.
