GMA Network7 days ago
Jollibee's Chickenjoy was hailed as the No. 1 "Best Fast Food Fried Chicken" in the United States for 2025, marking its second consecutive win.
The Filipino favorite beat out major American brands, including Popeyes, KFC, and Chick-fil-A. The rankings were determined by a panel of USA Today editors, food experts, and public voting.
"Jollibee is the largest and fastest-growing Asian restaurant company in the world. They're best known for Chickenjoy, the signature juicy, flavorful fried chicken. Order it in buckets or accompanied by sides — and don't forget to dip it in their silky gravy," said USA Today 10Best.
Trailing Jollibee on the list were Pollo Campero from Guatemala and Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken from Ohio.
Jollibee USA also celebrated the win on Facebook, thanking fans and supporters.
"WE LOVE YOU JOLLIBEE FAMILY!!! Thank you to USA TODAY 10Best and all our fans for naming us the #1 Fast Food Fried Chicken two years in a row!!!" it said.
This isn't the first time Jollibee's Chickenjoy has received top recognition in the US. In 2024, it also topped USA Today's list, and in 2022, it was hailed as the "Best Fried Chicken in America" by global food site Eater.com. — Hermes Joy Tunac/LA, GMA Integrated News

Chef Sau Del Rosario reinvents Pampanga's sisig with duck liver

Chef Sau Del Rosario presented his unique version of the beloved sisig on 'Unang Hirit.' On Monday's episode of the Kapuso morning show, the proud Kapampangan chef said he highly respects the classic recipe of the pork dish. While periodic reinvention is always possible, Chef Sau said it's important to taper it with respect to the classic recipe. 'Classic pa rin because ang importante sa sisig, hindi pwedeng palitan masyado ang recipe,' Del Rosario said. 'In fact, ni-submit naming ito sa UNESCO, the recipe, para hindi pwedeng i-dilute [or] palitan, so this has become the mother sisig [recipe],' he added, referring to the classic recipe. According to Chef Sau, the classic recipe or the 'mother sisig,' can give birth to other variants, just like his version with duck liver or foie gras. 'Pwede mo lagyan ng kung anu-ano. 'Yung iba, they put mayonnaise, pero please, sa aming mga Kapampangan, murder sa amin 'yun,' he said with a laugh. 'Normally, [sisig] goes with chicken liver, but for my version, I use duck liver,' he said. On the morning show, Chef Sau presented three versions of sisig: the classic one, another in a pastry shell, and the third – his version – the classic sisig topped with duck liver and calamansi caviar. Internationally acclaimed Filipino chefs are set to gather from August 7 to 10 at the Newport World Resorts for the International Manila Food Festival. The tickets are now on sale. — Hermes Joy Tunac/LA, GMA Integrated News
