He appeared in 38 games with the Hornets across four seasons, missing the 2020-21 campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and posted 142 tackles.

Wilder's mother, Lakeisha, is Lewis' sister.
The retired linebacker, 50, played for the Ravens throughout his 17-year career and won two Super Bowls.
Lewis was elected to the Pro Bowl 13 times and earned First-team All-Pro honors seven times.

49ers wide receiver Jacob Cowing did not practice Wednesday. Coach Kyle Shanahan said on KNBR that Cowing is dealing with the same lingering hamstring injury that sidelined him early in camp. "Yes, it is [the hamstring]," Shanahan said on the radio, via David Bonilla of "He felt it yesterday, so we had to hold him back today." Cowing initially injured his hamstring on the first day of training camp. He returned to the field Aug. 11 after three weeks rehabbing. A fourth-round pick in 2024, Cowing played 15 games last season as a rookie but saw only 106 offensive snaps and 64 on special teams. He caught four passes for 80 yards. The 49ers' wide receivers room has been hit hard with injuries. Brandon Aiyuk continues to work his way back from ACL/MCL surgery that ended his 2024 season; Jauan Jennings is dealing with a calf injury; and Jordan Watkins has a high-ankle sprain. In addition, Shanahan confirmed wide receiver Demarcus Robinson will miss the first three games of the season. The NFL suspended Robinson after his no contest plea to a misdemeanor DUI charge.

(AP) — The New York Jets have agreed to terms on a trade for veteran nose tackle Harrison Phillips from the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday night to bolster their defensive line, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press. The Jets are sending sixth-round draft picks in 2026 and 2027 to the Vikings, who are trading a 2027 seventh-rounder along with Philips — pending the 29-year-old D-lineman's physical — according to the person who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the teams didn't announce the deal. ESPN and NFL Network first reported the trade, which came a few hours after New York made another addition to its defensive line when it acquired defensive tackle Jowon Briggs and a seventh-rounder next year from Cleveland for a sixth-rounder. The 29-year-old Phillips played the past three seasons for the Vikings after spending his first four with Buffalo. He was a third-round pick out of Stanford in 2018. Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer expects Micah Parsons to play in season-opener amid messy trade request
Though there hasn't been much movement publicly, Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer is confident that star Micah Parsons will be out on the field for their season opener in a few weeks. Whether or not that means Parsons and the Cowboys have a new deal in place, however, is a different question. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] 'I feel good about that, yeah,' Schottenheimer said on Wednesday when asked if he thought Parsons would be taking the field in Week 1, via The Dallas Morning News' Calvin Watkins. 'I feel good that Micah is going to be out there against the Philadelphia Eagles.' Parsons is entering the fifth-year option of his rookie contract this fall, which is set to pay him about $24 million this season. He has undoubtedly proven himself to be one of the best defensive players throughout the league already. He had 12 sacks and 43 total tackles in 13 games last season while dealing with an ankle injury. But despite having months to get it done, Parsons and the Cowboys failed to reach a contract extension this offseason. That led to Parsons making a trade request early in training camp, something that owner Jerry Jones said he doesn't plan to honor. Parsons has been with the Cowboys throughout the entire preseason, but he's been limited in part due to a back injury. Jones and the Cowboys don't appear to be any closer to a new deal, either. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, things have gotten 'personal' and each side is 'dug in.' 'I don't know if necessarily talks will [pick up], but we've got a game coming, and he's under contract,' Jones said last week as the team wrapped up its California portion of training camp. There is plenty of time to go before the Cowboys take the field against the Eagles on Sept. 4. Jones, who has been in this position plenty of times before in his time with the franchise, could easily reconcile with Parsons in time and strike a new deal. But at least for now with negotiations looming, both Jones and Schottenheimer are clear on one thing. They expect Parsons out on that field in Week 1.
