Super Junior Reveals 20-Year Teamwork Secret - "We Missed the Timing to Disband"
The legendary K-pop group Super Junior has revealed their unique teamwork secret as they celebrate their 20th debut anniversary.
In a recent broadcast appearance, Kim Heechul, Eunhyuk, and Ryeowook shared surprising insights about what kept them together for two decades.
When the MC asked about their secret to staying together for 20 years, Kim Heechul responded, "Eunhyuk said it's because 'we missed the timing to fall apart.'" Eunhyuk then confessed even more honestly, "Actually, there were several opportunities to disband. Because we fought way too much."
This reminds us of how India's cricket team missed several World Cup opportunities over the years, but those experiences ultimately forged a stronger team. Sometimes missing the "perfect" timing can lead to even greater success - a lesson that resonates deeply with young Indians who often feel pressured to achieve everything at the "right" time.

Kim Heechul even revealed incidents where he got so angry with members that he kicked over dining tables and stomped on ramen packets. Eunhyuk recalled, "I was even there for that. I thought, 'There are only crazy people here.'"
Last year, they faced a serious disbandment crisis during contract renewal negotiations with SM Entertainment. Kim Heechul described the atmosphere as "deadly serious." Donghae and Eunhyuk left SM to start their own company, while Kyuhyun moved to Antenna, leaving the members' future uncertain.
This situation mirrors the dynamics of Indian joint families perfectly. When siblings grow up and pursue different paths, conflicts arise, but the family bond eventually brings them back together. It's that cycle of conflict and reconciliation that makes relationships stronger - something every Indian youth can relate to, especially those navigating family expectations while chasing personal dreams.
Learning from Other Success Stories
Super Junior's approach finds parallels in BTS's leadership model.
BTS leader RM once explained, "The secret to teamwork is clearly recognizing that we're all on the same boat, maintaining appropriate distance - sometimes like family, sometimes like partners - while trusting and respecting each other." This aligns perfectly with Super Junior's method of facing conflicts head-on while maintaining mutual respect.
The corporate world offers contrasting examples. When Daewoo Group faced a liquidity crisis in 1999, it ultimately led to the group's dissolution.
This shows what happens when team members can't unite during crisis situations and choose individual paths instead - a stark contrast to Super Junior's choice to stick together despite their differences.
For Indian youth, this resonates strongly with the startup ecosystem. Many promising ventures fail not due to lack of talent or resources, but because founding teams can't navigate conflicts effectively. Super Junior's story offers valuable lessons about the importance of commitment over convenience.
True Teamwork Isn't About Perfection
What's most impressive about Super Junior's story is their honest admission that they're not a perfect team. Leeteuk once revealed that they faced "disbandment crises every single day." In 2012, what started as playful banter escalated into the "Eunhyuk bullying controversy" that even made it to real-time search rankings.
However, instead of hiding or avoiding conflicts, they chose to face them directly and work through solutions.
This approach reflects the Indian philosophical concept of 'Satyagraha' - persistence in truth. Even in difficult situations, their commitment to honesty and understanding each other ultimately led to greater harmony.
This mindset is particularly relevant for Indian millennials and Gen Z, who often struggle with the pressure to present perfect lives on social media. Super Junior's transparency about their struggles offers a refreshing perspective on authentic relationships and the value of working through difficulties rather than walking away.

The trailer of the show has already made a strong impact, and Pankhuri's appearance has caught everyone's attention for its emotional intensity. Pankhuri says, 'This may be a cameo, but it's one of the most emotional roles I've done after Kya Qusoor Hai Amala Ka. The moment I heard the scenes, I felt something deep inside. I knew it was going to stay with me. Especially the fact that I was playing a mother after becoming one myself really connected with me. There was pain, helplessness, silence, and strength all in one… so much to express and perform, which is what made it more powerful for me. ' She shares, 'There are such emotional scenes that I had tears in my eyes while just reading them on paper…' Adding further, she says, 'This show is actually a sort of comeback for me after delivering my twins. Figuring out how to balance my work and my babies was something I was very skeptical about—and a powerful cameo seemed like the right way to test the waters and return to what I love most: acting.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like An engineer reveals: One simple trick to get internet without a subscription Techno Mag Learn More Undo Even though her role in Dhakad Beera is brief, her performance leaves a deep impact. Fans have already begun talking about her emotional presence and expressive depth. She shares, 'Another aspect that truly drew me to this show was its strong social relevance. It sheds light on pressing issues that still exist in certain parts of our country—even today, many people are not free to live their lives on their own terms. The storyline is rooted in the harsh reality of honour killings, and beyond its emotional and narrative depth, I was deeply moved by the intention behind it. As an actor, I feel incredibly fulfilled when I'm part of projects that aim to create awareness, spark conversations, or bring about change in society. Even if the story manages to touch just one heart or change one mindset, it means the show has done its job. I truly believe we, as artists, have the power to influence thought and inspire change—and being part of something with that kind of impact is what makes me feel most connected to my craft.' She concludes, 'Every second I was on screen, I gave it my full heart. I'm truly glad I got to be a part of this story, and I hope it touches the audience's heart as well.' 'Ramayana' is now the most expensive Indian film in history: Learn the jaw-dropping budget of Ranbir Kapoor-Yash-starrer
Namit Malhotra , an influential producer and visionary CEO of Prime Focus , is currently steering what could become the most transformative project in Indian film history—a grand, two-part reimagining of Ramayana. With Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor cast as Lord Ram and a powerful ensemble featuring industry giants like Yash, Amitabh Bachchan, Sai Pallavi, and Sunny Deol, this retelling is poised to push the boundaries of scale, ambition, and technology in Indian cinema . However, what's truly making headlines around the world is its astonishing production cost: an unprecedented $500 million, or roughly Rs 4000 crore—positioning it as the most expensive Indian film ever produced. A Vision Powered by Personal Investment Malhotra's endeavor isn't backed by outside investors or major studios—the producer himself is fully financing the project. In his candid conversation with content creator Prakhar Gupta, he revealed that the idea, once considered outrageous and unrealistic, has evolved into a full-blown mission. When the concept was conceived nearly six to seven years ago, just after the pandemic, many industry insiders doubted the feasibility of such a colossal project. At that time, no Indian film had ever dared to dream this big in terms of budget and scope. Yet, Malhotra remained committed. With experience from supervising visual effects on globally celebrated films such as Inception, Interstellar, and Dune, he brings with him the technical prowess and cinematic wisdom required for an undertaking of this magnitude. In his words, the Ramayana he envisions will rival some of the largest Hollywood franchises—and perhaps, even outshine them in cost-efficiency. For Malhotra, this is not just a film; it's a historic opportunity to put Indian storytelling on a world stage. A Childhood Spark That Ignited a Lifelong Dream The inspiration for this colossal venture dates back to Malhotra's younger years, when he first watched Jurassic Park. The immersive spectacle of that film sparked his fascination with world-building and visual effects, ultimately influencing his career path. Although he never ventured into direction, he built Prime Focus into a global post-production behemoth—a studio that has contributed to multiple Oscar-winning projects. Yet amid his global success, Malhotra always carried a persistent sense of cultural discontent. He observed that Indian films, in the international domain, often portrayed the country in a limited, disadvantaged light. This misrepresentation of India's rich identity became a deep-seated concern for him—one he's addressing through Ramayana. His goal is to showcase India's spiritual depth and mythological richness through a story that has captivated generations and cultures across centuries. A New Dawn Begins Diwali 2026 The first part of this ambitious cinematic saga is scheduled for release during Diwali in 2026. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari—best known for acclaimed hits like Dangal and Chhichhore—the film will blend cutting-edge VFX with emotional depth and mythological grandeur. With this film, Indian cinema could take a decisive leap forward, offering not just commercial entertainment but also a culturally enriching experience tailored for global audiences. If successful, Malhotra's Ramayana could become a defining milestone in how Indian stories are told—and how they are received around the world.
