Pakistan condemns Modi's ‘reckless provocation'
ISLAMABAD: Condemning the provocative comments, Pakistan has taken note of the recent remarks by the prime minister of India, delivered in Gujarat with the theatrical flourish of a campaign rally rather than the sobriety expected of the leader of a nuclear-armed state.
Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said, 'The hate-driven invocation of violence in his remarks is deeply disturbing, not only for its content but for the dangerous precedent it sets in a region already burdened by volatility.'
We regret the continued erosion of maturity and decorum in Indian statecraft, he added.
Such statements blatantly violate the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter, which obliges member states to resolve disputes peacefully and to refrain from the threat or use of force against the sovereignty or political independence of other states. Modi in his address to a Gujrat rally said that people of Pakistan should come forward to get their country rid of terrorist.
The FO spokesperson said Pakistan views these remarks as a reckless provocation, intended to distract from the ongoing human rights abuses and demographic engineering in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan's record as a leading contributor to UN peacekeeping and its consistent cooperation in global counter-terrorism efforts speak louder than any hostile soundbite.
Ambassador Shafqat said, adding if extremism is indeed a concern for the Indian government, it would do well to turn inward—toward the alarming rise of majoritarianism, religious intolerance, and the systematic disenfranchisement of minorities under the increasingly brutal Hindutva ideology.
Pakistan remains committed to peace based on mutual respect and sovereign equality. However, any threat to its security or territorial integrity will be met with firm and proportionate measures, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
The spokesperson urged the international community to take serious note of India's escalating rhetoric, which undermines regional stability and the prospects for lasting peace.

After the ceasefire with India, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appointed Bilawal to lead a high-level delegation tasked with presenting 'Pakistan's case for peace' on recent Indian aggression to the international community. The committee will engage with global leaders and institutions to raise awareness about India's actions and Pakistan's concerns regarding the Indus Waters Treaty. North Korea says military ties with Russia to ensure ‘peace'
SEOUL: North Korea on Monday defended its military cooperation with Russia, saying ties were aimed at 'ensuring peace and stability' in Europe and Asia. The two countries have strengthened military cooperation in recent years, with Pyongyang supplying arms and troops to support Moscow's war against Ukraine. Around 600 North Korean soldiers have been killed and thousands more wounded fighting for Russia, according to South Korean lawmaker Lee Seong-kweun, citing the country's intelligence service. A multilateral sanctions monitoring group including South Korea, the United States, Japan and eight other countries on Friday condemned those ties as 'unlawful'. In response, Pyongyang said its cooperation with Moscow was 'aimed at protecting the sovereignty, territorial integrity and security interests of the states' as well as 'ensuring peace and stability in the Eurasian region'. The statement by a foreign ministry official described ties with Russia as the 'cream of inter-state relations'. Pyongyang and Moscow, they added, could 'establish a multi-polar world order based on genuine respect for sovereignty, equality and justice'. The Multilateral Sanctions Monitoring Team, launched last October, monitors and reports violations of UN Security Council sanctions on North Korea, though it operates independently of the UN. Its creation followed Russia's veto of a Security Council resolution that effectively ended the system in place to monitor Pyongyang's compliance with UN sanctions first implemented in 2006 and subsequently strengthened several times. According to the group, Russian-flagged cargo vessels delivered as many as 'nine million rounds of mixed artillery and multiple rocket launcher ammunition' in 2024 from North Korea to Russia. In return, 'Russia is believed to have provided North Korea with air defence equipment and anti-aircraft missiles', it said. North Korea in April confirmed for the first time that it had deployed troops to Russia to support Moscow's war in Ukraine.

Field Marshal must act on Kashmir, Palestine too: Hafiz Naeem
Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has called on the country's military leadership to actively take up the causes of Kashmir and Palestine. Addressing a large rally titled "Down with Israel and India" at Koh-i-Noor Chowk, he said Pakistan must go beyond statements and play a leading role in supporting oppressed Muslims globally. He said, "If we don't raise our voice for Gaza and Kashmir, we will lose the nation's support. One who saves a life saves all humanity-this is our duty." He also criticised Pakistan's political elite for remaining silent on Israeli aggression, accusing PML-N, PPP and PTI of fearing US displeasure. Hafiz Naeem praised countries like South Africa, Spain and Ireland for taking a bold stand against Israel, and urged Pakistan to lead a Muslim world summit, both political and military, to demand an end to Israeli atrocities and Indian occupation in Kashmir. He warned that continued silence and inaction from Muslim rulers and Pakistan's own establishment would erode public trust. "People backed you against India despite their grievances. But if you stay quiet on Palestine and Kashmir, the nation will stop standing with you," he said.
