The Dallas Cowboys get to go to Philly to open the 2025 NFL season against the defending Super Bowl champs. Some fans of the Washington Commanders might feel disrespected, but their team gets to go to ... Spain.
Lincoln Financial Field or Madrid. Who are we kidding?

While the NFL has officially announced Cowboys-Eagles as the kick-off game on Sept. 4 and the Kansas City Chiefs playing the Los Angeles Chargers Sept. 5 in Brazil, a well-respect schedule-leaker is projecting the Commanders will play the Miami Dolphins in Week 11, Nov. 16 in the first NFL game played in Spain.
Jayden Daniels vs. Tua Tagovailoa could provide some offensive fireworks in Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
The Commanders and Dolphins have played each other 16 times heading into the 2025 season, with Miami leading the series, 10-6. The teams have played each other five times since 2007 and Washington has won two of those contests - the most recent coming in the form of a 17-16 win in 2019.

While marquee NFL games begin to trickle out, the NFL's full schedule will be released Wednesday at 8 p.m.
The Commanders will be looking to building on last season's surprising 12-5 record and appearance in the NFC Championship Game. This offseason Washington added protection for star quarterback Jayden Daniels in the form of free-agent left tackle Laremy Tunsil and first-round draft pick offensive lineman Josh Conerly.
The Commanders also signed receiver Deebo Samuel, while the Dolphins are dealing with more drama and a trade demand from their star, Tyreek Hill.

Cowboys optimistic Micah Parsons will play in opener

Dallas Cowboys first-year coach Brian Schottenheimer said he is confident Micah Parsons will take the field for a Week 1 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Rumors have swirled since the beginning of the month when the All-Pro edge rusher requested a trade, stating on social media that "I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys." Both sides remain in a stalemate as Parsons continues a hold-in. He has sat out all training camp practices while seeking a long-term extension to make him one of the NFL's highest-paid defensive players. However, the four-time Pro Bowler has attended team meetings and walkthroughs. "The business side of it is going to take care of itself," Schottenheimer said Wednesday. "I think at the end of the day, we feel like Micah's going to be out there when we line up against Philadelphia here in 15 days or whatever it is. "I feel good about that, yeah." Parsons, 26, is under contract with a fifth-year option that would pay him $24 million in 2025. In 63 games over four seasons with Dallas, the superstar pass rusher has 256 tackles (63 for loss), 112 quarterback hits, 52.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. He tallied 12 sacks, 43 tackles and two forced fumbles in 13 games last year. The Cowboys must finalize roster cuts down to 53 players by Tuesday, and the status of Parsons will affect other moves ahead of the team's meeting with the Super Bowl champions. "I feel good that Micah's going to be out there against the Philadelphia Eagles," Schottenheimer said, smiling. "All those things will play into things." --Field Level Media Field Level Media 2025 - All Rights Reserved

Wide receiver trades galore but the Steelers stand pat

Wednesday was a busy day in the NFL. Teams pulled off multiple trades, including two quality wide receivers. First the Denver Broncos traded Devaughn Vele to the New Orleans Saints and then the Kansas City Chiefs traded Skyy Moore to the San Francisco 49ers. But one team that wasn't involved in any wide receiver deals and doesn't seem interested in it at all are the Pittsburgh Steelers. In fairness, the Steelers did have free agent wide receiver Gabe Davis in this week for a second visit and presumably a physical, but Davis left without a contract. It's been reported that Davis wants to play for a contender and it's down to Pittsburgh or his old team, the Buffalo Bills. I think you know where this is going. Pittsburgh made multiple wide receiver moves this offseason, first trading for DK Metcalf and signing veteran Robert Woods. Things seemed to be set. Then later in the offseason, the Steelers pulled the rug out from under everyone when they traded George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys. The Steelers' lack of interest in these wide receivers tells us they are pretty sold on guys like Calvin Austin III and Roman Wilson. The proof will show itself this season when the offense hits the field in the regular season.
