Holkham Bay loves Ascot but he can make his mark at Goodwood too in the ultra-competitive Stewards' Cup

While other value picks Raafedd and Endless Victory also finished in the places - beaten just over a length combined.
Here, our top tipster, who's enjoying a hot run of form, picks out two others at eyecatching prices he fancies over the coming weeks.
GOLDEN MILE (Goodwood, Fri Aug 1): Back ARISAIG each-way at 16-1
Glorious Goodwood is just around the corner and ARISAIG looks a solid each-way bet in Friday's Golden Mile.
The Johnston stable has an excellent record in this race with Mark lifting it three times in four years between 2009 and 2012.
He also saddled Maydanny to take it in 2021 and Charlie was second with Dutch Decoy at long odds 12 months ago so they know what it takes to win.
Arisaig has a win over course and distance from a hot handicap at last year's Festival and it looked like that was her level for a while.
That was until she ran an absolute belter in the Coral Challenge at Sandown last time.
She was a little unlucky in that she didn't get the clearest of runs through the pack and that allowed the winner to steal a march.
She came home like a train for second and was gaining with every stride.
There's always a little luck involved thanks to her hold-up style but her two visits to Goodwood have been excellent and 16-1 looks rock solid for her to make the frame again.
She has performed on fast and good ground along with slow on the all-weather so it shouldn't matter too much what the weather does.
STEWARDS' CUP (Goodwood, Sat Aug 2): Back HOLKHAM BAY each-way at 16-1
HOLKHAM BAY is in plenty of notebooks thanks to his barnstorming fourth in the Wokingham when he was beaten less than half a length ploughing a lone furrow up the stands' side.
Plenty will have lost faith in him after a modest effort back at Ascot last weekend when he didn't enjoy dropping back to five furlongs.
The main problem was he was upset by a ridiculously loud PA system near the parade ring before the race and being drawn on the wrong side only made matters worse.
So I'm happy to keep the faith for the Stewards' Cup where hopefully Goodwood will turn the sound down!
The 16s on offer looks a fair price as he'll enjoy the six-furlong test and the ground is likely to suit.
We obviously need some luck with the draw but that's reflected in his odds.

Westridge powers clear in Chesterfield Cup
Trained by John and Thady Gosden and ridden by Billy Loughnane, the four-year-old has been faring well in handicaps recently and started a 6-1 chance in a field of 18. From stall eight he hit his stride quickly and after a prominent passage through the race he took up the lead in the final furlong, then pulling clear of the chasing pack to score by an eventual three and a quarter lengths. 'He enjoyed the space around him today and Billy gave him a lovely ride. It is not easy in a big handicap field but he broke well and made use of him,' said John Gosden. 'He is owned by Glen Manchester, my wife and Nicholas Wrigley, so it's a proper partnership. 'We did have him in the July sales but wisely we chose to take him out three days before the sale, thank God we did that. 'He's a grand horse and he's done well, the handicapper will get him now but to win the Chesterfield Cup is a dream come true because Glen is very much Goodwood orientated. 'It'll have to be York now though I'm not sure which race, Mr Wrigley will demand it. Rachel is just the silent partner, she does whatever they want!' Ruth Carr's Brazen Bolt made the long journey from Yorkshire to Sussex worthwhile with success in the Coral Golden Rewards Shaker Handicap, where he prevailed by a nose at 28-1 under Warren Fentiman. Peter Furr, Doncaster-based winning owner-breeder, said: 'He has been an unbelievable horse. We have bred a few horses but nothing like him. He went to Bahrain and won last year and when he came back he was not very well. 'He had ulcers, a bad tummy, stress, everything. Me and my daughter got him back and had him on a nebuliser. We took him to Ruth this season and she has been fantastic. 'We didn't expect to win at York last time and we came here today thinking it would be really firm ground and when it wasn't we didn't expect this again. It doesn't happen to people like us.' Stellar Sunrise got off the mark for Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes. The Space Blues colt had been placed in both starts prior to his Goodwood run, and that experience served him well as he came to the fore at 6-1 to win by a length and a quarter from evens favourite Naval Light. 'He had the experience, and I think the draw helped as well,' said Balding. 'He was given an astute ride, as the stands rail was definitely an advantage in a big field with these younger horses. 'He'd shown a fair level of form in his previous races, but he's getting more streetwise and he was very professional today. 'We'll look at nurseries now and we'll find out more next Tuesday (when he is given a rating).' Roger Varian's Protest built on recent Listed efforts to make a winning handicap debut in the Ridgeview Fillies' Handicap over a mile. The Cheveley Park Stud owned and bred chestnut struck at 11-2, steered by Silvestre de Sousa to a one-length win.

Templegate's Galway Plate tip, 1-2-3 prediction and runner-by-runner guide
TEMPLEGATE takes on a cracking Galway Plate confident of having found the winner. One of two feature races at the seven-day Festival, the Plate is off at 6.40pm today and shown live on Racing TV. 1 Joseph O'Brien versatile performer Nurburgring is favourite for the Galway Plate Credit: PA You'll find his full guide to all the runners and riders below and his tip and 1-2-3 prediction at the very bottom. He rates each horse out of five - with one the worst and five the best. Back any horse you fancy simply by clicking their odds. Templegate's Galway Plate runner-by-runner guide Senecia 2 MAKES no sense. Highly tried last season and ran well in blinkers over C&D in November. Looks held on form this year and may prefer softer. Others preferred. Zanahiyr 4 ZAN the man. Was a cracking third in this last year. Losing run adding up but could bounce back for Gordon Elliott. Jesse Evans 4 GREAT Jesse. Goes well at Galway, ran well over hurdles last time and stays this far. Strong traveller with a turn of foot. Live contender despite fairly testing weight. Western Fold 4 BEST Western. On a roll with two emphatic wins at staying trips; improving rapidly and jumps well. Ground and track no issue. Big player if coping with 11st10. Amirite 3 RITE stuff. Probably doesn't win as many as he should but often runs well like when fourth in the Topham an Aintree. Comes here off a win and isn't ruled out. Nurburgring 5 RING of fire. Won Galway Hurdle in 2024 and impressed on latest chase win. He likes this trip and looks capable of better. Not a big price but he has a big chance. Buddy One 2 ONE to miss. Tough hurdler with top-level form, but not the same force over fences. Flat winner this month and stays well but needs career best. Down Memory Lane 3 UP and Down. Novice who won well at Navan but has struggled a little. Still unexposed and trip suits and could do better on this drop in class. Three Card Brag 3 CARD sharp. Didn't enjoy the Grand National last time but still early days over fences and has more to offer. Chemical Energy 2 CHEMICAL reaction. Runner-up in National Hunt Chase in 2023 but hit and miss since. Looks on the downgrade now and hard to fancy on recent evidence. Ashdale Bob 2 BOB not job. Capable on his day around this trip and Harrington runners always respected. Modest run last time and needs to improve on that. Jazzy Matty 3 WELCOME Matty. Won the Grand Annual at Cheltenham and stays this trip well. Pulled up last time but could bounce back. Best form on decent ground. Not discounted. Anyway 4 WAY can pay. Improving chaser who was second at the Cheltenham Festival and won well at Kilbeggan. Has a good profile and staying potential. High on the shortlist. Common Practice 3 PRACTICE improving. Good novice win at Thurles in March over similar trip and has won well here before. One of many who are capable of better. Thecompanysergeant 4 COMPANY profits. Good second in the Festival Plate on last spin over fences and solid run over hurdles latest. Only 2lb higher and from top yard. Contender. Duffle Coat 2 GET me Coat. Comes here badly out of form and is struggling to finish a race. On the plus side, he was second in this last year so could bounce back now. Shecouldbeanything 2 ANYTHING goes. Solid mare with graded chase form but only a fair run in the Irish Grand National last time out Needs to find more off current mark. Zenta 2 ZEN won't master. Talented mare but poor jumper and flopped badly on past two outings. Needs the blinkers to wake her up again. Adamantly Chosen 2 NOT Chosen. Has some quality and ran okay at Punchestown last time. Has come up short a few times in races like this. Pass despite Townend being up. Sea Music 3 DEEP Sea. Won big race at Punchestown before dodgy jumping proved costly last time. Place claims if bouncing back. Olympic Man 3 TOP Man. You never write off a Willie Mullins horse, especially off this sort of low weight and his best has come around this trip. Was poor at Sandown latest but could do better here. Gaelic Arc 3 UPWARD Arc. Beaten in a photo last time at Killarney and has some fair handicap chase form. One of the better huge prices. Templegate's Galway Plate tip and 1-2-3 prediction NURBURGRING can motor to victory in the Galway Plate. Joseph O'Brien's charge has a Galway Hurdle win on his CV and stays this trip well. He ran well at Cheltenham earlier this year and has more to come. Western Fold arrives in great heart after dominant wins at Tipperary and Ballinrobe. He's improving fast and could be a Grade 1 horse in time. Zanahiyr ran a cracker in this last year so a return to form would be no surprise. Jesse Evans was impressive when winning a Tipperary Grade 3 hurdle last time and was a winner here over fences last season. Others with form claims include Thecompanysargeant and Anyway. 1st Nurburgring 2nd Western Fold 3rd Zanahiyr FREE BETS - GET THE BEST SIGN UP DEALS AND RACING OFFERS Commercial content notice: Taking one of the offers featured in this article may result in a payment to The Sun.
