Flights, local train services too are disrupted and heavy traffic congestion was reported in certain areas on Tuesday morning due to relentless rainfall in the Mumbai and nearby regions. As per officials, the red alert for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Palghar districts will be in place till Wednesday morning.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai, forecasting very heavy rainfall in isolated regions. Additionally, until August 21, half of Maharashtra's districts are under either a red or orange alert. Thane and Raigad too have received the red alert tag.
Waterlogging was also seen at Mumbai Airport amid heavy rains.
Amitabh Bachchan brought the bungalow Prateeksha after the success of Big B's 1975 film Sholay and they moved into it in 1976. Big B resided with his parents — poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and mother Teji in this house. It holds a special place for the Bachchan family, as both Shweta Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were born here. Prateeksha remained with the star for over 45 years after which he shifted to Jalsa.
Amitabh Bachchan's has gifted Prateeksha to his daughter Shweta Bachchan. It is spread across 10,125 sq ft. A kilometre away from Prateeksha, is the bungalow Jalsa, which means 'celebration,' and this is the place where the Bachchan family currently resides.
In one of his blogs, Amitabh Bachchan revealed how the house got the name Pratiksha and wrote, 'Babuji saw the house as we invited him and Maa Ji to now live with us and named it, Prateeksha… It came from a line of one of his works: 'Swagat sabke liye yaha par, nahi kisi ke liye prateeksha'.'
Interestingly, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's wedding took place at Prateeksha in the year 2007. The bungalow is valued at approximately Rs 50.63 crore.
Apart from Prateeksha and Jalsa, Amitabh Bachchan has two more bungalows called Janak and Vatsa.
Big B was last seen on-screen in Rajinikanth-starrer Vettaiyan, alongside Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, and Ritika Singh, among others. He is currently hosting the 17th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, and will next appear in Ribhu Dasgupta's Section 84. Additionally, he is set to reprise his role as Ashwatthama in the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, featuring Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone, with production beginning in December this year.

Anita Advani recalls falling for Rajesh Khanna as a teenager, says the superstar left a deep impression on her heart: ‘I couldn't accept another man touching me'
Rajesh Khanna's relationship with Anita Advani is no secret to the public. Over the years, Anita has spoken candidly in interviews about her bond with the late superstar, and most recently chronicled their dynamic in a book. Now, in a heartfelt conversation on REEL Meet REAL, Anita revisited how it all began, back when she was just a teenager. 'I was a teenager when I first met him, and it was a whirlwind romance between us at a very young age. He left such a deep impression on my heart and mind that no one else ever appealed to me. Then destiny played its part, we kept bumping into each other. And finally, when everyone in his life had gone, when there was no one from his family around, we reconnected. After that, we lived together for about 12 years,' she said. Also Read | 'Rajesh Khanna fought with income tax officer over overdue tax amount of Rs 45 lakh,' recalls Anita Advani: 'He threatened to seal his bungalow' Reflecting on the early phase of their bond, Anita Advani spoke about how young and emotionally vulnerable she was at the time. 'I couldn't have asked for a better man than him. He was one in a million. The thing is, I was in a relationship with him at a very impressionable age. I came from a conservative family, so I thought he was my everything, When I grew up, people pursued me, but I couldn't see anyone else. I was just caught up in that comparison. I couldn't accept another man touching me, it became a mental block,' she shared. Anita also recently recalled the pain of being excluded from Rajesh Khanna's chautha (a traditional prayer meeting held on the fourth day after someone's passing), a moment that added to the emotional weight of their history. 'They had bouncers stationed there to stop me from coming in, I learned this from friends. When I told them I planned to go, they warned me I wouldn't be allowed inside. Still, they said, 'If anything happens, we're here for you.' But I was stunned and asked, 'Why all this?' Some of my staff and close friends encouraged me to go, even suggested I carry a camera to record what they do. But I thought, how can I do such a thing on such a solemn day? So I didn't go. I held my own chautha for him alone at a temple,' she revealed.
