People Are Fighting Over Roadster's Summer Campaign – So We Decided To Just Settle It Once & For All
Billboards. Stories. Reels. TikToks. Even your cousin's beach day post on Instagram somehow managed to feature that tagline.
And, of course, because this is Lebanon in 2025, people have Opinions™.
Some are all in: 'YES, we do deserve summer! Bring on the burgers and sunsets!'
Vaha, commenting on the campaign in a Reel, pointed out how the campaign was on point after everyone suffered the consequences last summer:
Others… not so much: 'Deserve summer? After the traffic on the way back from Batroun? Please.'
Some completely had absolutely no clue what the campaign even was.
Eddy, commenting on the billboard in a TikTok video, said he liked the visuals but questioned what this has to do with Roadster:
The debate and theories continued in the comments.
So, instead of letting the comments section keep throwing shade, we decided to go straight to the source and get the real story.
The Truth Behind We Deserve Summer
We spoke directly with the Roadster team about what the campaign REALLY means and why they went all-in with this vibe, and here's what they told us:
'Last year, Lebanon missed out on summer. No long nights out, no spontaneous road trips, no dancing until sunrise. We stayed in, held back, and carried the weight of everything we couldn't have.
But this year? This year, we deserve summer – a real one. Loud, messy, sun-soaked, and full of life. We've earned the right to let go, break the rules, and feel free again. Because summer isn't just a season – it's a state of mind, and we're finally ready for it.'
And honestly… they're not wrong. Especially after everything we went through for the past over year and a half.
How They're Bringing It To Life
Roadster went for a full 360° summer takeover – not just simply a slogan with some ads:
A brand-new summer menu with new fresh additions
New décor at every branch to give you that summer energy – including at its iconic Jal el Dib location
Summer uniforms for the staff (because the vibe has to match the mood)
Sponsorship of summer events across Lebanon
They even roped in basketball champ Wael Arakji and actress Yara Bou Monsef as the faces of the campaign.
Big summer energy, confirmed.
So… Is It Deserved?
Look, whether you've been spending your weekends at the beach, dancing till sunrise, or just trying to find parking anywhere, one thing's clear – after the summer we missed, maybe we do deserve to make this one count.
And if that means a new burger, fries on the side, and a milkshake in hand while soaking up the summer vibe… we're not complaining.

Taylor Swift announces 12th studio album, 'The Life of a Showgirl'
by Naharnet Newsdesk 13 August 2025, 17:50 Look what you made her do — Taylor Swift has announced her 12th studio album, "The Life of a Showgirl." Swift announced the album on her website shortly after a countdown timer expired at 12:12 a.m. Tuesday. No release date was announced, but her site said vinyl editions of the album would ship before Oct. 13. Fans have long theorized that Swift's 12th album would soon arrive. On Monday, Taylor Nation — an official branch of the pop superstar's marketing team — posted a TikTok slideshow of 12 images with the caption "Thinking about when she said 'See you next era…'" Swift is seen wearing orange in every image. A special limited vinyl edition of the album will be released in "Portofino orange glitter," according to a preorder page on her site. A special cassette edition is also available for preorder. Sensing a pattern, eagle-eyed fans noticed that 12 minutes before Monday's Taylor Nation post, the popular "New Heights" podcast posted a tease for Wednesday. The show, hosted by Swift's boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce alongside his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, posted an orange image on social media with a mysterious silhouette that many believed to be Swift. The podcast later announced that Swift would indeed appear on "New Heights" and a teaser video posted about her appearance showed her pulling the album from a briefcase. The actual album artwork, just as it is on her website, is blurred. How to watch Taylor Swift on the 'New Heights' podcast Swift's episode of the "New Heights" podcast will premiere at 7 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday. It will be available to stream in full on YouTube. Fans who'd prefer to listen to the show, instead, can do so via most podcast streaming platforms: Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Audible, Spotify and Wondery among them. Episodes typically run around one hour to two in duration. The road to 'The Life of a Showgirl' "The Life of a Showgirl" follows last year's "The Tortured Poets Department," announced during the 2024 Grammys and released during her record-breaking tour, which raked in over $2.2 billion across two years and five continents, making it the highest-grossing tour of all time. The album is also Swift's first release since she regained control over her entire body of work. In May, the pop star said she purchased her catalog of recordings — originally released through Big Machine Records — from their most recent owner, the private equity firm Shamrock Capital. She did not disclose the amount paid. In recent years, Swift had been re-recording and releasing her first six albums in an attempt to regain control of her music. The project was instigated by music executive Scooter Braun's purchase and sale of her early catalog. Previous "Taylor's Version" releases have been more than conventional re-recordings, arriving with new "from the vault" music, Easter eggs and visuals that deepen understanding of her work. So far, there have been four re-recorded albums, beginning with "Fearless (Taylor's Version)" and "Red (Taylor's Version)" in 2021. All four have been massive commercial and cultural successes, each debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Swift's last re-recording, "1989 (Taylor's Version)," arrived in October 2023, just four months after the release of "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)." That was the same year Swift claimed the record for the woman with the most No. 1 albums in history.

Ronaldo Engaged to Long-Term Partner Georgina Rodríguez
Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has gotten engaged to his long-term partner Georgina Rodríguez. She announced the news on social media alongside a picture of a large ring, writing "Yes I do. In this and in all my lives" in her native Spanish. No further details have been shared. Ronaldo, who is the most followed person on Instagram, has not yet made a comment about their engagement. The couple have been together for nine years, after they met at a Gucci shop in Madrid where Rodríguez was working. He was playing at the Spanish club Real Madrid at the time. The Portugal and Al-Nassr player has five children in total, two of whom he shares with Rodríguez. Their youngest daughter Bella was born in April 2022, alongside a baby boy who was stillborn. Rodríguez has also helped to raise Ronaldo's other three children. The 31-year-old, who starred in her own Netflix reality show I Am Georgina, previously addressed speculation around her engagement status. On the programme, she said her friends were "always joking about the wedding." "Since Jennifer Lopez's song 'The Ring Or When' came out, they started singing it to me. And well, this is not up to me," she added. Famous faces including Kim Kardashian have liked the engagement announcement on social media. Piers Morgan, who interviewed Ronaldo in 2022, wished them "as much success in their marriage as he's had on the football pitch!" Celebrity make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury commented that it was "fabulous news". Lauren Sanchez-Bezos, who married Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in June, said she was "so happy" for the couple. The family currently live in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh, where the Ronaldo plays for Al-Nassr. He joined the club in December 2022 for a reported annual salary of £177m ($238m). In June 2025, it was announced that the 40-year-old's contract had been extended until 2027 after speculation that he was preparing to retire.
