Husker head coach Matt Rhule impressed with offseason growth of quarterback Dylan Raiola
Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule was a guest on the Always College Football podcast earlier this week and talked about the development of quarterback Dylan Raiola.
Raiola had a strong freshman season. He recorded 2,813 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions last season. He finished the season by leading the Huskers to a bowl game victory against Boston College in December. Now, the quarterback enters his sophomore season looking to continue that high level of play.
'To me, it's not about his highs being higher, it's about his loads not being so low. It's the same for our whole team. And so what I loved about Dylan is the consistency that he's got. He's the same guy every day. He's holding people accountable, starting with himself. His body looks great. And he and Dana Holgerson, I think, are going to make a dynamic duo. I think they have a chance to be really special on offense. '
Consistency from Raiola is going to be crucial as the Huskers look to make another leap in 2025. The quarterback has shown that he can be an explosive playmaker and leader under center. Now, it's going to be about putting it all together for an entire season. The offensive side of the football has been upgraded from last season, and it should lead to more success. Time will tell with results on the field, but Raiola has a chance to be successful in 2025.
Nebraska will open the 2025 college football season on Thursday, August 28, when the Huskers face the Cincinnati Bearcats at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. K ickoff time is set for 8:00 p.m. CT.

The WNBA revealed on Friday that Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark leads the league in the first returns of WNBA All-Star Game fan voting. The voting numbers' makeup is as follows: Fans account for 50%, while all current players and a media panel will account for 25% each. Through her seven games played this season, Clark averages 19.9 points, 8.7 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game on 41.7% shooting from the field, 35.5% from 3-point territory and 79.4% from the free throw line. It looks like the WNBA could be pacing for record fan voting numbers, which Clark is excited to see. "It seems like it's certainly going to set some sort of record for the amount of votes cast compared to last year, if I'm not mistaken. I feel like we're on track for that, which just shows how much engagement we're driving across the league for all different sorts of players and teams. "And, you know, that's exactly what the league needs, is people are excited about that type of stuff and wanting to be involved, feeling like their vote really counts, and feeling like they can make an impact on All-Star Games. So, it's really exciting to see, and hopefully as we continue to grow here year after year after year," Clark said. Oregon football offers brother of 5-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho
The Oregon Ducks are hosting 5-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho on an essential official visit this weekend, hoping to get him on board and in the 2026 recruiting class before he leaves town at the end of the weekend. It appears that they are going the extra mile to do so, as well. On Sunday morning, it came out that the Ducks extended an offer to Michael Iheanacho, the younger brother of Immanuel. Michael is a member of the 2028 class, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound offensive tackle who is currently unrated by 247Sports. Meanwhile, Immanuel stands as one of the most significant players on Oregon's recruiting board in the 2026 class, rated as the No. 8 overall player in the class while standing at 6-foot-6, 345 pounds. He is considering Oregon alongside the Penn State Nittany Lions, LSU Tigers, and Auburn Tigers. Iheanacho has set a commitment date for August 5, but there is some speculation that he could end up announcing his commitment as soon as Sunday before his visit is over. If offering his younger brother — someone who could ultimately be a highly-touted recruit in the 2028 class — is something that will help push that decision along, then the Ducks made the right call in doing so. Florida football lands first 2027 commitment from blue-chip athlete Tramond Collins
Florida football landed its first commitment from the 2027 recruiting class this weekend from four-star athlete Tramond Collins following his appearance at the program's annual Grille in the Ville event. The 6-foot-2-inch, 183-pound prospect out of Cottondale (Florida) who is also listed at wide receiver by 247Sports chose the Gators over seven total offers, which also include the Florida State Seminoles, Kentucky Wildcats and Tennessee Volunteers. Billy Napier and Co. put on a show for the young recruit on Saturday, which was clearly enough to earn the verbal pledge. Collins amassed 661 yards on 31 carries and nine rushing touchdowns while catching 13 passes for 402 passing yards and six touchdowns during his high school sophomore campaign. On defense, he recorded 33 tackles, two fumble recoveries and one interception. The Sunshine State product is also a standout on the track and the basketball court. Collins earned the regional title in the 200-meter dash last season, running times of 10.89 in the 100-meter dash and 21.89 in the 200-meter dash; he averaged 13.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game on the parquet.
