Guwahati: Ten Kuki-Zo tribal MLAs, including seven of the BJP have resolved that no Kuki-Zo Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) shall participate or take part in any manner in the formation of a new Popular Government in Manipur.Manipur is under President's rule and there are efforts to form a popular government.Khaikhohauh Gangte, general secretary, Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) stated, 'This is to inform all concerned that a joint meeting of the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) along with its federating units Kuki Students' Organisation-General Headquarters (KSO-GHQ), Kuki Khanglai Lawmpi-General Headquarters (KKL-GHQ), Kuki Christian Leaders' Forum (KCLF), Kuki Women's Union-General Headquarters (KWU-GHQ), Kuki Women Organisation for Human Rights-General Headquarters (KWOHR-GHQ), Kuki Chiefs' Association-Manipur (KCA-M) - including all District Units of Kuki Inpi and Heads of Departments was held on 4th July, 2025 at the Conference Hall. After due deliberation, it has been unanimously resolved that, No Kuki-Zo Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) shall participate or take part in any manner in the formation of a new Popular Government in the State of Manipur'.KIM added, 'Under no circumstances shall the Kuki-Zo people compromise our ancestral land, culture, identity, and political, social and economic rights. This resolution is the collective political will and aspiration of the Kuki-Zo people and is binding upon all Kuki-Zo representatives and community organisations.Ten MLAs have given the assembly session of Manipur a miss since the violence broke out on May 3, 2023.Meanwhile BJP MLA from valley districts Y. Khemchand Singh, who is in the race for chief ministership stated that the Central Government has been taking various steps to resolve the crisis in Manipur, which erupted on 3 May, 2023, and has now exceeded two years.He added, 'Among the significant measures taken to restore peace and normalcy in the state, security forces have been conducting search operations to recover illicit arms and ammunition. Notably, in the past month, a substantial quantity of arms and ammunition was seized from the various part of the valley districts, and recently, a significant cache was recovered from the hill districts as well. These efforts are crucial for maintaining law and order in the state and have instilled a sense of hope and security among the populace.Furthermore, functionaries of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) are engaging in talks and peace dialogues with leaders and representatives of various stakeholders, including civil society organizations (CSOs). These discussions have been instrumental in catalysing efforts to bring about peace and normalcy in the state."He said,'Under the able leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah Ji, several initiatives have been undertaken as a first step towards resolving the crisis. His responsible and accountable approach to addressing the crisis, which may take considerable time to resolve, is highly commendable. It is hoped that any hardships faced by the people as a result of the crisis will be acknowledged, and necessary steps will be taken sensibly in the coming days.'

BJP national president and Union minister Jagat Prakash Nadda on Saturday criticised Himachal Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh for allegedly thrashing two NHAI officials in Shimla a few days ago and said, 'What would happen to people when those supposed to protect the law take matters into their own hands?' Addressing the media in Bilaspur, Nadda dubbed the incident 'alarming and unprecedented' for a peaceful state like Himachal, which is known as 'Dev Bhoomi (land of the gods)', and expressed concern over 'the deteriorating law and order'. 'It is a worrisome incident. This incident has two aspects. First: it hurts the Dev Bhoomi culture of our land; and the second: the government, which job is to protect, has become predators…what would happen to people when those supposed to protect the law take matters into their own hands…it shows what kind of government is running in the state,' Nadda said. On Monday, an FIR was registered against the Himachal minister for allegedly assaulting NHAI officials — manager Achal Jindal and site engineer Yogesh Verma. Nadda announced that work on 25 national highways, spanning 2,592 kilometres, was underway across Himachal. 'Of these, 785 km are being constructed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), 1,238 km by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), and 569 km by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO),' he said, expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari for approving and supporting these major infrastructure initiatives. Nadda highlighted four key infrastructure projects under the NHAI, most of which are expected to be completed by 2026-27, with the remaining scheduled for completion by 2028. Barring the Shimla-Motor National Highway for which preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) is underway and completion is slated for 2028, the Parwanoo-Shimla, Kiratpur-Manali and Pathankot-Mandi National Highways would be completed in 2026 and 2027, he said. Nadda said he would write to the chief minister and also hold discussions with him on two important matters, including the exclusion of highway construction equipment from the industrial category. Nadda said temporary construction setups like crushers, hot mixers, and bitumen heating units, used in NHAI projects, should be exempted from requiring annual NOCs from the State Pollution Control Board. 'These temporary installations,' he said, 'are slowing down progress due to bureaucratic delays,' Nadda stressed the urgent need for a decision on dredging in the Beas river region.

Dalai Lama is a Mongolian term that means "Ocean of Wisdom'', and the Dalai Lamas are the manifestations of the Bodhisattva of compassion. Bodhisattvas are enlightened beings who have postponed their own enlightenment and chosen to take rebirth to serve, according to Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The Dalai Lama assumed full political powers in 1950, after the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1949. In March 1959, after the suppression of the Tibetan National Uprising , the Dalai Lama was forced to escape into exile in India with over eighty thousand refugees. For over six decades, the Dalai Lama has been working for the promotion of peace, love, and compassion.

AICC demands white paper on BJP's poll promises in Puducherry
PUDUCHERRY: All India Congress Committee (AICC) spokesperson and Puducherry in-charge Dolly Sharma on Friday came down heavily on the BJP-AINRC coalition government, demanding a white paper on the status of promises made in the BJP's 2021 election manifesto. Addressing reporters at the Congress party office here, Sharma described the BJP-AINRC alliance as a 'factory of fake promises' and accused the government of operating as a 'betrayal machine' rather than one focused on public welfare. 'What have you promised, and what have you delivered?' she asked, challenging the administration to account for its performance over the past four years. She alleged that the government was functioning under the remote control of the Centre, sidelining the voices and concerns of Puducherry's residents. 'There is no government here—only deception and betrayal. Corruption is widespread across departments, and even temple lands are reportedly being encroached upon, with some BJP leaders allegedly involved,' Sharma charged. Calling for an immediate audit of central funds sanctioned under schemes such as Smart City and PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana), she questioned whether there had been any tangible benefits for the public. 'Roads remain in poor condition, and drainage systems have seen no major improvement. Only contractors with proximity to BJP leaders seem to have gained,' she said, dubbing the Smart City initiative a 'smart scam'.
