'Harry's Father's Day tribute from Meghan speaks volumes on compromised life'
Prince Harry's Father's Day tribute from Meghan Markle shows he "doesn't have it all" despite the song it is set to, according to a royal expert. Meghan posted a video to Instagram showing Harry alongside Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, set to the song Have It All by Jason Mraz.
The compilation showed photos and videos of Harry laughing, dancing and spending quality time with his children through the years. Meghan captioned the post: "The best. Happy Father's Day to our favourite guy." The post came hours after Harry's estranged brother Prince William was also seen in a new picture with his children in a post on the official Prince and Princess of Wales social media accounts.
Kensington Palace said the photographs were taken by professional photographer Josh Shinner in Norfolk earlier this year. And according to royal expert and historian Dr Tessa Dunlop, there was a vast gulf between the two posts.
She told the Mirror: "Hail Prince William, the model father. Or rather the model English father, with a before-and-after duo of professional photographs featuring a handsome, upstanding man, beautifully blended with his children; a foursome united in different shades of 'Norfolk' green.
"The post dropped early on Father's Day via Kensington Palace's Instagram account, giving that other royal family plenty of time to tweak their own paternal efforts for a later LA release.
"In Britain, it was bedtime before we caught a sneaky peak of the Sussexes' alternative Californian vibe: Harry the hands-on dad - forget formal posing in tweedy greens, this was 'au naturel'. Well, sort of.
"A hotch-potch of sunbaked vibes, bubble machines and sea-side shots cast to the Jason Mraz track 'Have it all.' Except Harry doesn't have it all."
The tribute to Harry comes just weeks after he spoke out about his rift with his own father King Charles, and said he would love reconciliation with him.
And Tessa added: "Despite his professed desire to resume relations with his own father the King, the Duke of Sussex remains something of an orphan, stranded on the other side of the Atlantic. A discordant backdrop that cast his otherwise happy little video in a poignant light.
"Poor Harry. These days having it all even means sharing images of his children's faces, albeit blurry ones taken when they were much younger.
"Such are the compromises celebrities make when no longer protected by the royal coffers. Meghan's Instagram account is a hungry beast.
"Long gone are the effortless days of a shared fraternal photograph; it was 2017 when William and Harry posted an early photograph with their dear Papa in the Scottish Highlands for Father's Day.
"It had been declared the holiday snap indicative of the brothers' close bond, proof that when it comes to the Royal Family, what you see is only ever half the story."

Couple slammed for 'embarrassing' gender reveal, as ‘self centred' dad-to-be ‘makes the whole thing about him'
The pair are expecting another daughter in a matter of weeks SHOW OFF Couple slammed for 'embarrassing' gender reveal, as 'self centred' dad-to-be 'makes the whole thing about him' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A COUPLE have been slammed for their "embarrassing" gender reveal, which centred almost entirely around the dad-to-be. A video of the big reveal was shared by fitness pro Shai Ross on his Instagram, but was changed to black and white at the last second to keep his and his wife's baby's gender a secret. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Shai has been slammed for taking centre stage in his baby's gender reveal Credit: 2 He flexed his muscles doing various moves, before concluding with a back somersault landing on a mat - which then exploded in pink smoke, signifying they're having a girl Credit: In the clip, a shirtless Shai was seen flexing his muscles as he lifted a huge weight bar above his head. He then bought it back down on the back of his neck and shoulders, before jumping onto a box and swinging the massive bar around his back. Once he'd done that, he prepared to do a back somersault. After getting himself ready for the daring move, Shai jumped into it, turning impressively in the air. As he landed, his feet hit a large mat on the floor, which then exploded with smoke and confetti. While they'd edited the video to conceal their baby's gender at first, the pair have since revealed they're having a baby girl - so the smoke and confetti were pink. And despite their sheer joy over the gender reveal, the couple quickly found themselves targeted by people online, who questioned why Shai was virtually the only one seen in the video. His wife made a blink and you'll miss it appearance at the end of the clip, as she and Shai hugged. And the comments section of the Instagram post was immediately flooded with messages from angry viewers, with one writing: "This is so embarrassing!" "Why is something so special all about him and not the woman who's actually carrying the child?" another questioned. Love Island Shaughna Phillips reveals unborn baby's gender in emotional video with jailbird boyfriend out on day release "Bro is not the main character," a third raged. "Self centered reveal," someone else said. "Bro made this whole thing about him," another sighed. And as someone else called it "f**king cringe", another agreed, adding that it was "the corniest s**t ever". However, there were those who defended Shai for the gender reveal, with one writing: "Oh all are can do whatever he wants!" "Why are people hating? Men don't have to put in any work to make the baby so let him put some effort in to announce it!" another grinned. What's the Deal with Gender Reveals & Why is Everyone Having Them? Meghan Markle's 'pattern of behaviour' as she faces claims of 'copying Kate'
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Meghan Markle is confronting renewed claims she's "mimicking" her sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales, after her latest television agreement with Netflix. The Duke of Sussex, 40, and the Duchess of Sussex, 44, revealed a fresh "first-look" arrangement last week with the American streaming platform. Beyond placing Meghan under additional examination, specialists inform the Mirror that the particulars represent an obvious "reality check" for the pair. The agreement features a fresh festive instalment of Meghan's With Love programme, inviting audiences to "join Meghan in Montecito for a magical holiday celebration". Royal observers were swift to claim Meghan was attempting to hijack the seasonal spotlight from Kate, 43, who presents her own yearly Christmas gathering, reports the Mirror. Kinsey Schofield, a podcaster and Royal specialist in the US, maintains, though, that the Sussexes have demonstrated a "pattern of choosing moments" that threaten to eclipse other Royal events – and Christmas could prove no different. "It's become so noticeable it was reported recently that Harry had offered to share his schedule with the family as an 'olive branch' to avoid competing in the future," she explains. This emerges as Royal couple secretly welcome second baby and reveal tot's adorable name. Previously this year, Harry faced accusations of "stealing the limelight" from his father and stepmother when he turned up at the Royal Courts of Justice in London shortly before King Charles and Queen Camilla commenced their state visit to Italy, which also aligned with their 20th wedding anniversary. The launch of the paperback version of his explosive memoir, Spare, made global headlines, coinciding with the King and Queen's tour of Australia. Back in 2020, Meghan's team faced criticism when a series of fortnight-old photos were posted on her Instagram account on the same day Kate embarked on a UK tour. When Harry and Meghan announced their so-called "Megxit" on the eve of Kate's 38th birthday, they were accused of "overshadowing". However, regarding their Christmas plans, Kinsey suspects that Meghan is unlikely to replicate the feel-good celebration hosted by Kate. The mother-of-three organises an annual Christmas service at Westminster Abbey, which has become one of the most significant and touching events in the family's festive calendar. Kinsey, who presents the To Di For Daily podcast, doubts that Meghan's event will resonate in the same way, stating, "Catherine's carol concert is about unity, love, and hope. She arrives with her family, with a sense of togetherness and faith." In contrast, Meghan's Christmas special feels more like a branding opportunity. She's timed product launches from her lifestyle line, As Ever, to coincide with the release. "Catherine's carol concert is about unity, love, and hope. Kinsey adds. "Without the warmth of family or shared tradition, it comes across less as a holiday celebration and more as a commercial venture. When compared, Catherine's feels authentic and meaningful, while Meghan's risks appearing transactional. "The Sussexes' most recent television announcement arrives five years after they inked a Netflix agreement reportedly valued at over $100m (£74m), shortly after abandoning their roles as senior working fresh arrangement – characterised as a "multi-year, first-look deal" – means Netflix will fund the right to receive initial consideration of the couple's projects, but remains uncommitted to purchasing McNamara, a talent manager and PR crisis specialist, reckons the shift in conditions delivers a powerful signal. "It's not necessarily a humiliation, but it is a reality check for Meghan and Harry and also a reflection of the ever-changing entertainment world," he tells us. Every network and streamers' belts are tightening. Netflix wants to see sharper ideas and stronger delivery before committing to mega-budgets again. The upside is that this could help Meghan and Harry define what they actually stand for, creatively. "The duo's output thus far, including Harry's polo documentary and Meghan's With Love series, weren't precisely record-shattering triumphs, with the latter unable to penetrate Netflix's roster of the 300 most-viewed programmes of the year to also proposes that whilst Meghan won't appreciate the "copying" remarks, she would have been completely conscious that parallels would unavoidably be drawn. "Every broadcaster, charity and celebrity under the sun produces holiday specials. It's a warm, family-friendly format that audiences respond to. That said, Meghan knows the optics. Wanting to be seen in the same aspirational light as Kate isn't the worst strategy, but Meghan's challenge is to make it feel authentic to her own brand, not a re-skin of someone else's."
