Deion Sanders is a proud father who, like any good dad, just wants the best for his son. His son is, of course, Shedeur Sanders, one of the top prospects in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft, alongside names like fellow quarterback Cam Ward, elite dual-position threat Travis Hunter, and pass-rusher Abdul Carter.
And according to comments Sanders made at ProMat 2025, Sanders believes the best for his son is being drafted by the New York Giants, either at No. 3 overall or otherwise. For anyone who knows and understands Sanders, it is the least surprising thing ever to hear that he wants Shedeur playing in a big media market like New York for one of the NFL's traditionally premier franchises.
The Sanders family doesn't shy away from the limelight. It clearly and usually has almost always embraced it:
The good news for both Deion and Shedeur is that it appears they just might get their wish. Most mock drafts seem to be centering on Shedeur falling to the Giants at No. 3 overall. In fact, that's where our Christian D'Andrea placed the ex-Colorado quarterback in his latest mock draft. In other words, the stars are kind of aligning here.
I, for one, can't wait to see how the Sanders family potentially tackles New York. It genuinely does seem like the perfect fit.

"The Steelers are loading up for a potential Super Bowl run after signing Aaron Rodgers to a one-year deal. Could they target Alexander, his former teammate, to help provide depth and talent at cornerback?" Camenker wrote. "Pittsburgh already added two veteran corners to its roster during the offseason in Darius Slay and Brandin Echols, but at this stage in his career, Alexander is better than both. The Steelers could consider signing him and having him split playing time with the 34-year-old Slay to keep both healthy long-term." Alexander has had injury issues that have derailed his career. He has played in just seven games in each of the last two seasons. However, the numbers that he produced in just seven games last season show the amount of talent that he possesses. He racked up 16 tackles, a fumble recovery, two interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and seven defended passes. At the very worst, the team could just move on from him following the 2025 season. Should things work out, Alexander would take the Pittsburgh defense to the next level. His playmaking would be a welcome addition, and his sticky coverage would be valuable in an AFC North division with high-powered offenses. Now that the NFL draft is over and the first-timers that were selected have gone through rookie minicamp, the entire rosters of NFL teams can get on with the status quo of starting to get other camping opportunities underway, all leading up to fall camp and the start of the season. Former Ohio State defensive tackle Tyleik Williams was one of the 14 Ohio State football players taken in this year's draft, and he landed in an uncomfortable spot if you will, up in Michigan with the Detroit Lions when they selected him with the No. 28 pick in the first round. He isn't the first -- nor will he be the last -- former Buckeye to play his professional ball at TSUN (Chris Spielman anyone), but he'll have to make a good impression or perhaps face the wrath of those who loved to root against him in college. Advertisement One way to do that is to make the rounds in the community, and Williams was doing just that over this past weekend by not only attending a Detroit Tigers baseball game but by throwing out the first pitch. It wasn't a seed thrown to the plate, but rather a smooth and soft delivery that at least won't get any viral moments, though it was a bit high. Rams named potential landing spot for recently-released star CB The Los Angeles Rams didn't make many changes to their secondary and could be looking to add a veteran ahead of the 2025 NFL season. While most eyes are on the Miami Dolphins and one-time ex-Rams star Jalen Ramsey, there is another name out there who could be on the Rams' radar: Jaire Alexander. The Green Bay Packers recently released the two-time Pro Bowler after seven seasons when they couldn't find a trade partner or agree to a new contract. In the wake of this news, Pro Football Focus' Trevor Sikkema named the Rams as a potential landing spot for Alexander for the same reasons as Ramsey: They need star power in the secondary. "The Rams surprisingly didn't make any changes at cornerback this offseason," Sikkema wrote. "Darious Williams (865), Cobie Durant (843) and Ahkello Witherspoon (598) played the most snaps at cornerback for the team last season, but none earned a PFF coverage grade above 62.0. "Alexander is the kind of veteran whom Los Angeles has been interested in before. The team traded for fellow star cornerback Jalen Ramsey in 2019, which proved a worthwhile addition. A move for Alexander wouldn't be as big of a splash, but it would be in the Rams' wheelhouse." The pros and cons of adding Alexander are obvious: He's elite when he's healthy, but he's expensive and recently very injury-prone. Alexander is only 28 but played just 14 games over the past two seasons. He tallied 10 interceptions in his first five seasons but just one in his past two. If the Rams add him, it will likely be for less than he could get elsewhere. But if he wants to chase a ring, the Rams offer a path to that possibility.
