14 Shows That Stayed Perfect Vs. 10 That Flopped

Buzz Feed06-06-2025
Some shows are perfect. Maybe Schitt's Creek had it right when they said they'd rather quit while they were ahead than overstay their welcome.
Cause doesn't it drive you crazy when your favourite show starts going off the deep end? You've spent hours falling in love with the characters, dreaming about the plot, and guessing where it will take you next, only to find out that Barney from HIMYM will undo his entire redemption and revert back to his tired and depressing character arc from season one? (I'm still not over it.)
In a recent post, we shared some shows we loved from start to finish...and some that majorly fell off with disappointing endings. Then we asked the BuzzFeed Community to let us know what TV series we missed. And I'm here to share all...
Let's talk about those "perfect" shows first.
"Brooklyn 99 remained perfect throughout the entire story! Every single episode made me laugh out loud at least once!"
"Where's Modern Family for being perfect?"
"Both MASH and Barney Miller had long runs that were good from beginning to end."
"How could you not have The Sopranos, The Wire, or Six Feet Under? OG HBO has almost perfect shows. Also, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is still very funny after like 20 seasons."
"The Golden Girls! From the first episode, it only got better."
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer was great from the first episode to the last."
"Jane the Virgin was a great show beginning to end."
"This is Us ran from 2016 to 2022. I have binge-watched many episodes, and it never disappoints."
"Everybody Loves Raymond went out at number one and was beloved the whole time it was on."
"The Big Bang Theory. Great all the way through."
Now...the ones that disappointed us:
"Sabrina the Teenage Witch. In season five, she had left high school, and suddenly, there were all these new "college friends" characters introduced. Just felt like an entirely different show. Then they awkwardly threw in a romantic reunion with Harvey at the end, which just came out of nowhere..."
"Westworld still breaks my heart…had so much potential to be great."
"The good thing about Scrubs is that the Season 8 finale serves as a perfect ending for the show. You can just entirely skip Season 9."
"That '70s Show! My all-time favorite show, but holy shit, fuck the final season. Even Season 7 was a drag. Whenever I binge-watch the show now, I immediately skip to the finale after finishing Season 7."
"If Heroes had been a one-season wonder, it would rightly be recognized as one of the best shows ever. Each subsequent season became progressively worse."
"I thought the first two seasons of Ted Lasso and Derry Girls were perfection, but I wasn't a fan of the third season of Derry Girls, and the third season of Ted Lasso was all but unwatchable for me at times."
"I love The West Wing, but after Aaron Sorkin left following the fourth season, I only stuck around to see if Josh and Donna would ever get together."
"I think I'd add Gossip Girl because the reveal didn't make any sense."
"Sons of Anarchy had a great first 3 seasons, but I think Kurt Sutter lost control of some plot lines and left a lot of unanswered stuff on the table."
And lastly: "Any show that added a baby or young child to the cast near the end is a show that started well and ended badly."
I have a few of my own. I tragically had to stop watching Downton Abbey after the season three finale, because my heart couldn't take it. (If you know, you know.) And a perfect show? To me, that is Search Party. Every season, you tell yourself, "This show can't get any more bonkers." But it never ceases to prove you wrong. Plus, I'm just a girl who loves some murder, stalkers, and MOST OF ALL cults. Pure television magic.

2000s Disney Channel Movies: BTS Fun Facts

"Let's watch a Disney Channel Mooovieeee." The nostalgia hits hard while watching that classic opening theme of 2000s DCOMs. Now that we're all older, you might be interested to learn some little-known facts and behind-the-scenes stories that went into bringing these Originals to life. I'm Jeremy Hayes, and you're reading a BuzzFeed list of 20 BTS facts for 2000s Disney Channel Original movies *moves glowstick with a forced smile*: In The Phantom of the Megaplex (2000), the clips that are shown as "Glimpses of Genevieve" are actually from Alice, Sweet Alice, a classic and frightening 1976 horror film. Watch it on Disney+. Alana Austin, the lead in the movie Motocrossed (2001), said she believed she would be wearing a wig for her disguise as a boy when she was cast. Unfortunately, she later learned that she would actually be required to cut her hair (which I imagine was very distressing for a young teen). Watch it on Disney+. In Zenon: The Zequel (2000), Raven-Symoné, who played Nebula in the first movie, had a commitment to filming Dr. Dolittle 2 at the time, so she was recast and replaced by Shadia Simmons. Watch it on Disney+. In The Luck of the Irish (2001), Director Paul Hoen wanted houses to have a "leprechaun-feel" thinking, "what if the houses all looked like leprechaun houses with colored doors?' Watch it on Disney+. In Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge, the first spell used is actually a German song. Daniel Kountz, the actor who plays the evil son, came up with it on the spot, remembering the song he learned from his high school choir. Watch it on Disney+. Chloe Bridges, who plays Dana Turner in Camp Rock 2, almost played Demi Lovato's character, Mitchie, in Camp Rock (2008). According to Page Six, Bridges says, "The funny thing is I actually auditioned for Camp Rock, I tested against Demi [Lovato] for the role of Mitchie – it came down to her and me." Watch it on Disney+. In Twitches (2005), the exterior shots of Camryn's mansion are the same home of Regina George from Mean Girls. Hopefully, there were no Burn Books in Camryn's house. Watch it on Disney+. High School Musical Director Kenny Ortega kept a jar on set, and whenever a cast member was caught yawning, they had to put cash inside. Watch it on Disney+. The two leads of In Hatching Pete, Jason Dolley and Mitchel Musso, were actually born just four days apart in 1991. Watch it on Disney+. Shia LaBeouf balanced filming Holes (2003) in between wrapping the Even Stevens show and The Even Stevens Movie. Watch it on Disney+. Although a work of fiction, Tiger Cruise is based on the real experience of the USS Constellation being on a Tiger Cruise during the September 11 attacks. This gave the Disney Original movie a TV-PG rating. Watch it on Disney+. In Cadet Kelly (2002), the characters wear cadet uniforms that feature real military unit patches. The Washington National Guard members use the same patches. Watch it on Disney+. Get a Clue (2002) was the last film of Lindsay Lohan's three-film deal with Disney. The other two were The Parent Trap (1998 ) & Life-Size (2000). Watch it on Disney+. Despite being "The Cheetah Girls" in the film of the same name, the characters are mostly seen wearing leopard print throughout the entire movie. I guess The Cheetah Girls (2003) sounds better than "The Leopard Girls." Watch it on Disney+. In Pixel Perfect (2004), actor Raviv Ullman, who plays Roscoe, is told that he's "always looking to the future." This is hilariously ironic or perfectly planned, because Ullman went on to play Phil in the Disney show Phil of the Future shortly after. Watch it on Disney+. In Now You See It..., outside of the magic tricks that utilize obvious special effects, the young cast actually learned and performed real illusions often used by magicians. Watch it on Disney+. If you remember Cow Belles, you might recall a little show that premiered on the same day: Hannah Montana. Little did anyone know at the time that the Miley Cyrus-led show would go on to become a huge hit. Watch it on Disney+. Speaking of Cyrus, she makes a brief cameo in High School Musical 2 (2007) toward the end of the "All for One" number. Watch it on Disney+. In Life is Ruff (2005), the dog Tyco's real-life name is Jed. Calvin's real name is Kyle Massey, best known for his role as Cory Baxter from That's So Raven. Watch it on Disney+. And lastly, in Double Teamed (2002), Annie McElwain and Poppi Monroe had to wear padded shoes to appear taller than their fellow cast members. Watch it on Disney+. Why 'Modern Family' star Ty Burrell left Hollywood for Utah: 'No regrets'

After the sitcom ended, the actor and his wife decided to raise their daughters outside of Los Angeles. Ty Burrell is enjoying his post-Dunphy life, far away from the glitz and glamor of Hollywood. The Modern Family star, who spent 11 seasons as lovable man-child Phil Dunphy, has revealed that when the long-running ABC sitcom wrapped in 2020, he moved his family from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City. "It's just been spectacular," the actor, 57, told PEOPLE of his big move. "We moved here right after [Modern Family] ended, and I don't have any regrets. It's been lovely and a great place to raise the kids." That said, the Muppets Most Wanted actor admitted that Salt Lake City was an adjustment for him, wife Holly, and their daughters, Frances, 15 and Greta, 13. Burrell said he wasn't a lover of the outdoors when they chose the mountainous region. "My parents weren't really those kinds of people," he explained. "So at first, when we moved here, it almost felt like cosplay, like we were pretending to be people who were outdoorsy." He added, "And now we really truly love it." Though it wasn't until after Modern Family concluded that Burrell set down roots in Salt Lake City, he previously voiced affection for the Utah capital in a 2014 HuffPost essay, in which he recounted falling for the city while doing a play there in 1999. It also played a major role in his love life, as he took the job to be closer to his then-girlfriend whom he would later marry. "Over the next 10 years my wife and I travelled back and forth to spend time with family and began to fall deeper in love with your incredibly affordable lifestyle and immediate access to the outdoors," he wrote. "We fell so deeply that we didn't feel like we could be apart anymore and we moved from New York in 2008." While Burrell's connection to SLC is his own, the two-time Emmy winner is certainly not the only Modern Family alum who stepped away from Hollywood after a long tenure on the beloved family sitcom. His onscreen daughter, Ariel Winter, also departed Los Angeles for a quieter life. The L.A.-born actress, who began her career at 4 and landed a role on the comedy at 11, recently opened up about her choice to depart the city where she endured severe emotional trauma. "The experiences I had in person and online as a child have affected me so deeply that I've had to go to therapy for it," she told PEOPLE in May. "The movie and TV industry is a dark place."Winter, who now lives in Nashville with her boyfriend and fellow actor Luke Benward, continued, "I didn't leave the industry, I just left the city of L.A. It holds some not-great memories for me, and I'm young and never lived anywhere else, and thought, 'Why not?' If you're no longer on a network show that shoots there, you don't really have to be there, and if I get a network show, I can easily go back." Show Us Your Jaw-Dropping Before And After Cosmetic Surgery Results

First of all, we love celebrating people as they are, and don't think anyone should feel the need to have plastic surgery. That being said, some people want to make a change simply for themselves, like a woman named Michelle Wood who shocked the internet with her plastic surgery transformation... Related: She had a face lift and some other procedures done in Guadalajara, Mexico, saving her well over $30,000 by doing so! But others might need cosmetic surgery for other purposes, like to repair a cleft lip, for example. Related: Maybe you are someone who has microtia, when someone is born with a small or absent external ear, and you've had ear reconstruction or got a very realistic prosthetic. Related: Perhaps you were in an accident and needed some other sort of reconstruction done, and the doctors did a phenomenal job. Maybe you are just someone who wanted to get a boob job for yourself. Related: Or perhaps you had a facelift like Michelle, and your before-and-after photos always shock people, so you want to share it with us! Whatever it was, we would love to celebrate YOU. If you had a cosmetic procedure done out of the country and saved a ton of money, we want to hear about that, too! Share all the details along with your before and after photos in the comments, and you could be featured in an upcoming BuzzFeed post. Also in Goodful: Also in Goodful: Also in Goodful:
