With Perplexity Max, subscribers gain unlimited access to the company's key tools, such as its spreadsheet feature, web app, and a presentation tool called Labs. They also get early access to a new AI web browser named Comet, which is currently in development. The plan includes access to Perplexity services that use top AI models from other companies as well, such as OpenAI's o3-pro and Anthropic's Claude Opus 4. The new tier is available both on the web and through Perplexity's iOS app.
This new plan comes at a time when major tech companies are showing a growing interest in Perplexity AI. Indeed, Apple (AAPL), which has faced some challenges with its own AI efforts, has reportedly considered either buying or partnering with the company. Before its investment in Scale AI, Meta Platforms (META) also looked into acquiring Perplexity. In addition, earlier this year, Perplexity raised $500 million in a funding round that brought its valuation to just over $14 billion.

Google (GOOGL) Expands Its AI Mode to Over 180 Countries
Tech giant Google (GOOGL) is expanding its AI-powered search tool, AI Mode, to over 180 countries and territories in English, with support for other languages coming soon. This tool helps users ask complex questions and get more helpful, conversational answers. A new feature also lets users share their AI-generated results with others using a 'Share' button. This allows friends or family to continue the conversation from where it left off, which is ideal for planning events or trips together. Importantly, users can delete shared links at any time in order to maintain control. Elevate Your Investing Strategy: Take advantage of TipRanks Premium at 50% off! Unlock powerful investing tools, advanced data, and expert analyst insights to help you invest with confidence. In addition to global availability, Google is rolling out new 'agentic capabilities' in AI Mode. These features help users complete tasks like finding restaurant reservations based on specific preferences such as party size, time, location, and cuisine. AI Mode searches multiple booking sites like OpenTable, Resy, and Tock, then provides real-time options and direct links to book. Google says more capabilities, like booking event tickets or local services, will arrive soon. Currently, these agentic tools are part of an experimental feature for U.S.-based Google AI Ultra subscribers. AI Mode is also becoming more personalized. Indeed, for U.S. users who join the Labs experiment, Google will now tailor results based on previous searches, preferences, and interactions with Maps. For instance, someone looking for a quick lunch may see personalized suggestions that match past behavior, such as favoring Italian food or outdoor seating. This makes search more relevant, while still letting users adjust or turn off personalization in their account settings. Is Google Stock a Good Buy? Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Strong Buy consensus rating on GOOGL stock based on 27 Buys and nine Holds assigned in the past three months. Furthermore, the average GOOGL price target of $216.47 per share implies 8.1% upside potential.

Crypto firm which just filed for IPO won't shut down
Gemini, the crypto exchange founded by billionaire Winklevoss twins, has hit the streets with a new campaign around its Bitcoin credit card. On Aug. 19, Ethan Kimmel, the growth lead at Gemini credit card, posted on X a photograph of a print advertisement for the product on a busy street, "Spend Dollars, Earn Bitcoin." The card lets you make purchases and earn rewards in the form of more than 50 cryptocurrencies. "We'll never stay silent," remarked Kimmel, in response to Gemini co-founder Tyler Winklevoss's X post on July 26, in which he accused the global banking giant, JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM), of not onboarding Gemini as part of an alleged Operation Chokepoint 2.0 against crypto firms. "Sorry Jamie Dimon, we're not going to stay silent," Tyler had said, referring to the JPMorgan CEO. The banking institution had, however, said, 'JPMorgan Chase banks many of the best-known crypto companies in the world and is currently onboarding new crypto clients. It's patently false that we would block this traffic." But it didn't comment on Gemini the crypto exchange doesn't seem to be pulling brakes on its aggressive expansion. The firm recently filed for an initial public offering (IPO), following in the footsteps of other crypto firms like the stablecoin issuer Circle Internet Group (NYSE: CRCL) and the crypto exchange Bullish (NYSE: BLSH). It plans to list its shares on Nasdaq under the ticker GEMI. Gemini founders donate $21M to pro-Trump PAC Founded in 2014, Gemini is one of the most prominent crypto exchanges. The Winklevoss twins, the founders of the exchange, are considered among the world's first Bitcoin billionaires. On Aug. 20, Tyler informed the crypto community on X that he and his brother have donated $21 million in Bitcoin to a pro-Donald Trump political action committee (PAC) called the Digital Freedom Fund PAC. The PAC's aim is to help realize Trump's vision of making America the "crypto capital of the world," he said. It will support pro-crypto candidates in the Republican Party during the midterm elections in November 2026, Tyler added, and criticized the Democratic Party for derailing Trump's agenda. The PAC will also push for "thoughtful" crypto market structure legislation that avoids the pitfalls of overregulation, bloated licensing regimes, and red tape. "We will fight against legislation that attempts to recreate Dodd-Frank for crypto," he said. It will also push for a Bitcoin & Crypto Bill of Rights that codifies the right to own, self-custody, and transact peer-to-peer (P2P) with Bitcoin and other crypto assets, he added. In addition, protections for software developers, anti-central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), fair and open banking access, mandatory rulemaking and exemptions, rejection of regulatory capture, and support for the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) "Project Crypto" are among the agendas on the PAC's table, Tyler underlined. Robots From The Matrix: The NVIDIA Simulation is Real
Last Friday, I wrote some special coverage for my TAZR Trader members on the SIGGRAPH computer vision event that NVIDIA (NVDA) attended in Vancouver. I include those notes below under "Robots From The Matrix" and don't miss the video of a humanoid running over a human in the 1500 did I know that Jensen & Co. were planning a virtual robot party this week, with much to celebrate and new innovations right around the corner, ahead of the company earnings report next week, NVIDIA is celebrating the more than 2 million developers now using the NVIDIA robotics stack. These builders are reshaping industries across manufacturing, food delivery, agriculture, healthcare, facilities maintenance and much NVIDIA Robotics group has been featuring innovations from partners like Peer Robotics, Serve Robotics, Carbon Robotics, Lucid Bots, Diligent Robotics and may have seen Serve robot carts delivering food or other items on busy city streets. Those cute camera "eyes," big buggy wheels, and friendly yellow safety flag fit right in on the sidewalk. I picture a toddler to pop his head out NVIDIA team is going to wrap up the week on Friday with a special product announcement. From the next-generation NVIDIA Jetson Thor platform is built for physical AI and humanoid robotics. It supports any popular AI framework and generative AI model and is fully compatible with NVIDIA's software stack from cloud to edge, including NVIDIA Isaac for robotics simulation and development, Isaac GR00T humanoid robot foundation models, NVIDIA Metropolis for vision AI and NVIDIA Holoscan for real-time sensor a staggering number of industry-changing applications in the market enabled by NVIDIA Jetson. We'll be featuring just some of the companies here daily all week, and stay tuned: some exciting product news is coming on the last find out first on Friday morning, my recommendation is to follow @NVIDIANewsroom, @NVIDIARobotics, and @KevinBCook on X to stay up to date on all the From The MatrixOriginally posted on 8/15/25TAZR TradersIt was a fascinating week for AI and Robotics as NVIDIA presented at SIGGRAPH, the premier computer graphics conference which took place in Vancouver through Research leaders delivered highlights of the key graphics and simulation innovations enabling physical and spatial blog post summarizes many of the innovations around the central theme of worker safety in a world of hybrid human-robotic Safer Spaces: NVIDIA and Partners Bring Physical AI to Cities and Industrial InfrastructureBe sure to visit that one this weekend as it has a compelling graphic with the economic and human stats at stake in this new world of work we are entering, plus lots of research links and Five Companies Advancing Physical check out this video clip now which wonderfully illustrates why we need plenty of training and guardrails for our humanoid work wins the gold medal for the 1500m run at the World Humanoid Robot GamesBreaking: As I'm writing this at the beach, a group of differently-abled adults came by my table. An especially curious young man named Steven, standing about 6"4", wanted to know what I was doing on my laptop. So of course I asked him if he played video games and what he thought about how much better the graphics had become in the last 5-10 years (10X? 100X? 1,000X?).Anyway, Steven likes to tell jokes and after I showed him the video above of a robot running over a human, he said with a grin "That's unsportsmanlike! You should put that in your article. It's a joke."He also had more to say about GPUs... "I like all kinds of chips... Doritos, Crunchers... you see, that's a joke." And now with Cosmos and Isaac GR00T, AI and graphics research breakthroughs in neural rendering, 3D generation and world simulation will power amazing advances in humanoid robotics and autonomous we still haven't crossed that threshold where enough people trust self-driving and that's why NVIDIA's foundational work is still so important. I've said many times in the past 5 years that SIMULATION is everything for the training of physical world of the oldest and best examples is when an NVIDIA 4,000 GPU cluster was used in 2017 to train the European Space Agency telescope Euclid as it set out to map the universe looking for dark matter and dark energy. Knowing that the telescope would consume terabytes of data each day, the scientists and engineers wanted to model and simulate 25 billion galaxies before they sent the equipment into This Just a Simulation? You may have seen the word "NIRATIAS" which is an acronym that stands for "Nothing Is Real And This Is A Simulation".It's a fun concept that people throw around as they fantasize (or doomerize) that we unconsciously live in "The Matrix."Only in this case, NVIDIA is helping researchers reverse-engineer "any matrix" to create real-world innovations.'AI is advancing our simulation capabilities, and our simulation capabilities are advancing AI systems,' said Sanja Fidler, vice president of AI research at NVIDIA. But to keep it simple, just think about how we connect hardware and software to make them operate in feedback now, a ton of AI workloads are dependent on the cloud to connect them. But after robots and other autonomous machines are trained and let loose in the wild, they may not always have a good connection to the where "edge" applications become extremely important to run machines autonomously... and safely. As we've seen with humanoids running over humans, the robots may indeed be coming for us. But it might be a softer revolution at Calacanis is as outspoken as they come among Silicon Valley elite VC. It will be 100% robotic, which means all of those workers are going away. Every Amazon worker. UPS, gone. FedEx, gone.'If he's right, Jensen has his work cut out for him. Not necessarily because Amazon needs NVIDIA to build the necessary because the rest of the world last question from Steven: I told him I was betting on a Jetsons future... because I'm betting on Morpheus... err that means I'll get to meet more incredible people like Steven in real life.
