Ridhima ends long title drought by winning 10th leg of WPGT
Ridhima totalled even par 216 with rounds of 72-70-74 while amateur Saanvi Somu, who finished runner-up, ended with a total of 220 at the Zion Hills course.
Vani Kapoor rallied from her first round 79 with 70-72 on the last two days for a creditable third-place finish in a season where she has won four times. Vani started with two birdies and had one more on the 11th while she dropped a double bogey on the Par-4 12th and a bogey on the 18th.
Durga Nittur (74) was sole fourth at 7-over 223 and two behind Vani.
Ridhima, who last won in 2022, had a rough front nine as she dropped a shot on the Par-5 second which she made up for with a birdie on the fourth. However, a bogey on the Par-3 fifth and a double bogey on the Par-4 ninth had her in danger, though she still held the lead.
Ridhima held herself very well on the return journey with one birdie on the 12th and parred all other holes on the back nine for a 35 that saw her card 74 and win by four shots over Saanvi.
When Ridhima was struggling, one of her closest pursuers Amandeep Drall (79) also suffered a front nine 40, while on the back nine Neha Tripathi (78), after an even par 36 on front nine, had a 42 on the back nine.
Ridhima, who has been playing well in patches became the sixth different winner this season and it was her first since the 14th leg of the 2022 season, during which she won twice. It will also give her confidence ahead of some possible starts on the Ladies European Tour and the Women's Hero Indian Open in October.
Neha Tripathi dropped down the leaderboard with a 78 and she was tied fifth with Amateur Tanishka Prithvi (73), Gauri Karhade (75) and Heena Kang (75), all of whom were 8-over 224.
Seher Atwal (77) and Amandeep Drall (79) were tied ninth and rounded off the top-10.
Sneha Singh (72) was tied 11th and last week's winner, Jasmine Shekar (75) was T-14.
Vani with Rs.14,43,667 maintains her big lead at the top of the Order of Merit, while Ridhima with Rs.9,58,000 moved to the second place, edging Amandeep Drall with Rs.9,52,967 into the third place. PTI Cor AH AH

Geoff opened up on the support he received following the demise of the celebrated batter and opined that the more one tries to suppress the struggle, the more flagrant it becomes. 'When he died, I received a lot of letters. This suicide, this mental health, it's a big, big problem. It smothers you if you don't talk." Geoff also touched up on the trait of 'masculinity' retraining men from processing emotions and feeling as they are meant to be inferred. 'I go to his grave occasionally. You have your moments of grief. But you try to find something to do very quickly. We all grieve differently. Sometimes us chaps are a little bit macho. We think we can cope. In fact we can't," Geoff said. Graham's world came crashing down when he lost his job as the assistant coach of the English side following the 2021-22 Ashes tour, which marked the beginning of an unfortunate close to the life of the classy batter. England begin their fifth and final Test of the series against India on Thursday at The Oval, where Thorpe spent nearly two decades plying his trade for Surrey and the national side, and headbands commemorating the fabled batter will be sold with the proceeds going towards charity. India Champions boycotted both their matches against Pakistan in the ongoing WCL 2025. India Champions are officially out of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) tournament after pulling out of their semifinal clash against Pakistan Champions that was scheduled for Thursday. Citing the ongoing diplomatic tensions between, a league match between the two teams was called off earlier before India forfeited the semifinal match resulting in Pakistan advancing to the title clash. The second semifinal between South Africa Champions and Australia Champions will go ahead as per schedule. Explaining the decision, an India Champion insider said the team would've withdrawn even if it was a final match against Pakistan, 'We are not playing against Pakistan (in semis). Our country and nation will always be at the top for us, and then anything. India ke liye kuch bhi (Anything for India). We are proud members of the Indian team. We have struggled and worked hard to put the Indian flag on our shirts, and we earned it. We will never let our country down, no matter what. Bharat Mata ki jai!," quoted the insider as saying. 'Even if we had entered the final and faced Pakistan, we all would have done the same. We all Indians are on the same page," the insider added. The WCL organisers released a statement on Wednesday confirming India's withdrawal. 'At WCL, we have always believed in the power of sport to inspire and bring about positive change in the world. However, public sentiment must always be respected – after all, everything we do is for our audience. We respect the India Champions' decision to withdraw from the semi-finals, and we equally respect the Pakistan Champions' readiness to compete," the statement read. 'Taking all factors into consideration, the match between the India Champions and the Pakistan Champions has been called off. As a result, Pakistan Champions will advance to the final," it added. Sports bill to be moved in LS today
The Lok Sabha (PTI Photo) New Delhi : The two key proposed legislations which many believe will reshape Indian sports administration — National Sports Governance Bill 2025 and National Anti-Doping (amendment) Bill 2025 – look set to sail through the Lok Sabha, as sports minister Mansukh Mandaviya will present the bills on Thursday. 'Mansukh Mandaviya to move that the bill (national sports governance bill 2025) to provide for the development and promotion of sports, welfare measures for sportspersons, ethical practices based on basic universal principles of good governance, ethics and fair play of the Olympic and sports movement, the Olympic Charter, the Paralympic Charter, international best practices and established legal standards and to provide for the resolution of sports grievances and sports disputes in a unified, equitable and effective manner and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto, be taken into consideration.
