K-State was just 1-for-10 with two outs and 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position while leaving nine men on base in the loss to UTSA. Their runs scored on a bases-loaded sacrifice fly by AJ Evasco in the fourth inning and a pinch hit home run by Nick English in the seventh.
The loss snapped a six-game losing streak in NCAA regional games for K-State.
A five-run fifth inning by Texas did in Houston Christian in its first-round loss. The Huskies outhit Texas, 8-7, but had three errors that led to six unearned runs for the Longhorns.
