BTS' V shows off huge muscles in gym selfie with bodybuilder friend, gears up with new look ahead of August surprise

Kim Taehyung is well on his way to becoming the most muscular member among the Bangtan Boys, and here's the latest proof! On July 30, V shared a selfie taken with Choi Han Jin, a professional bodybuilder and someone the BTS member seems to have developed a close friendship with. A casual 'V' pose in the photo of the two, fans immediately went into a meltdown with how handsome the star looked in it.
Drenched in sweat, probably taken just after a workout, V displayed the epitome of K-pop idol beauty in the photo. A grey T-shirt covered his torso with rolled-up sleeves, trying and failing to contain his muscly biceps. Fans who checked out the photo could not help but notice how far along his two arm moles had gotten. The marks which previously stood a couple of inches apart are separate poles now, thanks to the gym gains of the singer. And while he was able to make an 'elephant face' with them earlier, we wonder what it would appear as now.
V boasts muscular growth in just 2 months
More notably, V has hung out with Choi Han Jin in the past, working out at the gym solo and with fellow BTS member Jungkook, showing off their growth. Fans have also made a note of his buffed-up physique over the last couple of months, especially since his military discharge. Once appearing toned, he now looks more muscular.
BTS is said to be working out together as the members opened up about their very competitive sessions in Los Angeles. Now, back in South Korea, Jungkook hung out with Physical: 100 star Ma Sun Ho just a day ago, showing off his own physique and giving a clearer peek at his new chest ink. The two youngest members of the team have been making the fans go crazy with the gym updates and getting them excited for possible shirtless moments.
Meanwhile, the Rainy Days star recently spoke about a surprise for the BTS ARMY, which will be released in August, and while he did not spill any details, the fans are guessing a photoshoot or a new song could be on the way.

Netflix's new K-drama facing boycott in South Korea turns global smash hit with 100% Rotten Tomatoes score

Netflix recently dropped a new dystopian K-drama set in a fictional South Korea where the country's strict gun laws go out the window. Starring Kim Nam Gil, Kim Young Kwang, Park Hoon and others, this new show titled Trigger sparked massive boycott calls even before its release. Many believed it was loosely inspired by the recent shooting incident in Songdo, Incheon. The director denied any such link, but that didn't stop the speculation. Trigger stayed a burning topic even after it hit screens. Meanwhile, globally, it's become one of Netflix's most-watched non-English shows, beating titles like Letters From the Past, Angela, and more. Also read: Trigger Ending Explained: Does Kim Nam Gil's Netflix thriller have a happy ending and who survives the rampage of gunplay? The K-drama dropped on July 25 and instantly shot to the second spot in Netflix's non-English global category. Now in its second week, the show, despite slipping a few positions, still holds strong at number 4, pulling in over 2.9 million views this week and securing its spot in the top 10 across 20 countries, including regions like Romania, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kuwait, Thailand, and, surprisingly, even South Korea. The number one spot is still being held by Squid Game 3 for five weeks straight, and with 28.5 million hours viewed. The animated series My Melody & Kuromi: Season 1 sits at number 2, while fan-favourite anime DAN DA DAN: Season 2 lands at number 3. Trigger imagines a South Korea where guns are easily available, and all hell breaks loose when a revenge-driven man, on the edge of death with a terminal illness, decides to flood the country with illegal firearms. It theme of the show alone serves as a warning and leans hard into the kind of turmoil South Korean screens rarely show. Even though the series didn't get much attention at first, it slowly became a critic's favourite too and one of the rare K-dramas to receive a Rotten Tomatoes score. For now, it has a 100% rating. The massive global reaction just proves how strong K-dramas still are for the platform. Netflix has already been stepping up its K-content game, moving beyond the usual rom-coms and exploring more psychological, thriller, and action-driven stories. Mercy for None dropped earlier this year, and Beyond the Bar is lined up for August 2. Some feel the show exaggerates or sensationalises gun violence in a way Koreans aren't ready to digest just yet. Others, though, appreciated its raw tone, especially given the world inching closer to real wars. Earlier, a Chosun Biz report revealed that a 62-year-old man was arrested for allegedly shooting his own son with a makeshift shotgun while prepping for a birthday celebration. In a country where getting a gun license is nothing like it is in the US, the case hit a nerve. Trigger's director Kwon Oh-seung later said, 'I feel heartbroken about the recent unfortunate incident. I regret it. I hope that such things do not happen in the future,' adding that 'the connection between this incident and Trigger is a different issue.' Still, despite the clarification, the show's fan event live broadcast was suddenly scrapped—no reason given.

Did YG plagiarize again? Hip hop legends J.J. Fad accuse BABYMONSTER's HOT SAUCE of using Supersonic melody without permission

YG Entertainment is once again in hot water - this time for allegedly using a legendary American hip hop track without permission. Iconic rap group J.J. Fad has publicly called out the K-pop giant for lifting elements of their groundbreaking 1988 hit Supersonic in BABYMONSTER's new song HOT SAUCE - and doing so without clearance, credit, or compensation. This isn't unfamiliar territory for YG Entertainment, which has faced repeated criticism over the years for its controversial handling of Black cultural influences. From fashion to music, the label has often walked a fine line between homage and appropriation. Now, with J.J. Fad's accusation, that line may have been crossed once again. J.J. Fad goes public on TikTok The trio, hailed as pioneers in old-school hip hop, posted a viral TikTok in which they compared HOT SAUCE to Supersonic and pointed out the glaring similarities. Their frustration was clear. Well well well "We definitely are flattered that @babymonster yg did an interpolation of Supersonic. The problem is they never asked for permission to use it, or paid for the usage! Better reach out soon or…" the group wrote on their official TikTok account. What is Interpolation and why it isn't a loophole Interpolation - re-recording parts of an existing melody instead of sampling - still requires permission from the original rights holders. While K-pop frequently employs this technique, as seen in BLACKPINK's Pink Venom (which nods to Rihanna) or IVE's After LIKE (inspired by Donna Summer), that doesn't exempt labels from legal and ethical obligations. Fans demand accountability The silence from YG Entertainment has only added fuel to the fire. Fans and industry professionals alike are calling out the company for its recurring pattern of using Black artistry without acknowledgment. expected from the company famous for creating niggaboos YG has a reputation of stealing from black culture and they require at least one artist from each of their groups to either say the nword or imitate black ppl to get into the company so this isn't much of a surprise. Others echoed similar sentiments, demanding accountability and transparency from one of K-pop's biggest powerhouses. more Korean companies stealing from black artists and no one is doing shit about it YG remains silent - for now So far, the agency has not issued any comment on the accusations. Whether they choose to resolve the matter quietly behind the scenes or face the music publicly remains to be seen - but one thing is clear: J.J. Fad and their supporters won't stay silent. BTS Star Jimin's Instagram Move Has Fans Saying ‘He Wants To Be Aesthetic'

BTS star Jimin removed the hilarious caricature of himself that was drawn by none other than his bandmate Jungkook. BTS' Jimin is back on Instagram after being missing in action on social media for the entirety of his military service. Currently, he is keeping his fans busy guessing what his next move is going to be. Whether it's sharing some glimpses with his bandmates or deleting fan-favourite posts, Jimin is once again reminding fans why he is often called the funniest member of the group. His latest Instagram activity was deleting yet another one of his iconic pictures, leaving fans laughing and heartbroken at the same time. The post in question? Back in June, Jimin had posted a hilarious caricature of himself made by none other than his partner in crime, Jungkook. The caricature showed the Like Crazy singer with a serious expression on his face, complete with furrowed eyebrows, puffy cheeks, tiny hair and his iconic pouty lips. He removed the post on July 31. jimin deleted this post Fans noticed the change in the number of posts on Jimin's Instagram account. Another added, 'Maybe he wants to keep it to 100 posts only, so here's hoping for the next one." A different fan mentioned, 'He wants to be aesthetic so bad it's over, guys." When Jimin Deleted His Iconic Egg Post The caricature was not the only post that he removed from his grid. Just a few days back, the 29-year-old singer and dancer deleted his iconic egg picture, which he posted right before enlisting in the military. While he did not mention why he removed the caricature made by Jungkook, he did share the reason behind deleting the egg photo. Taking to his Weverse account, Jimin said, 'Wow, it's so relaxing to remove the egg picture on Instagram." jimin's deleted instagram posts — jimin (@JAMJAMPICS) July 31, 2025 Meanwhile, in another update, Jimin was seen petting a cat despite being allergic to furry animals. In a short clip shared on his Instagram stories, he was seen sitting down and lovingly patting the cat, and saying, 'Be well" to it. Though the clip was taken a month ago, it gave fans a peek into his life after his military discharge. What's Next For Jimin? Like all the other BTS members, Jimin, too, is busy preparing for their brand-new album, their first release in over four years. The entire group sat for a live on Weverse in early July and announced, 'We'll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year. Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member's thoughts and ideas. We're approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started." First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
