'I was on Married At First Sight and there is one key part I'd change'
EXCLUSIVE: Married At First Sight star Dave Hand has revealed how his edits didn't show the complete story and opened up on an issue he has with fellow cast members
A Married At First Sight star has revealed the worst part about the show - and it wasn't the breakdown of his marriage. Despite exchanging vows and looking to be a strong couple, Dave Hand and Jamie Marinos' connection was short-lived.
After cameras stopped rolling the duo called it quits and are no longer on speaking terms. But Dave exclusively told the Mirror he wishes nothing but the best for his ex - and wishes his co-stars would all be as amicable.
He also revealed how the narrative for his story on the Australian version of the show wasn't exactly how things panned out. The tattooed star, 36, admits he wishes viewers had the chance to see how much he was struggling with his dad's health woes during filming.
"I communicated that a few times on the couch," he confessed, revealing the scenes were cut from the show. "People just think I went from the partner swap to me not liking Jamie. There was a build up there.
"I cried on the couch the week before because I was struggling so much, you know? Then, yeah, it was quite difficult for me as it just sort of made it out to look like I've changed overnight, which definitely wasn't the case."
He added there were other instances of the final edit not showing exactly what happened, claiming the duo had also discussed calling time on their relationship and leaving earlier on. "It wasn't just a me thing. We both communicated that we were both struggling, but you have got to give it to us for giving it a crack and sticking it out."
The 6'7" tradesman went on to call out the online taunts from other cast members towards each other. And it is this that he said was one of the worst parts from his experience. "We had cast members coming at other cast members online," he said, speaking of the show's aftermath.
"Like, we didn't need to do that. I think that was quite childish, you know? I was affected by some of it and it's taken its toll. We should have been looking out for each other if anything.
"I don't think we should have been taking the p*** out of each other. It was hard to watch, whether you got a good edit or a bad edit, it was still difficult."
He went on to name Veronica as being someone who didn't have a good edit, saying she "copped it" in terms of online abuse.
"I still feel sorry or the people who copped it from the whole public. Online social trolling and stuff like that needs to be stamped about and people need to be held accountable for it.
"Just because I can put on a mask and not reply to these people or give them a reaction, doesn't mean I wasn't dealing with anything or that it wasn't affect me. That's what we have to be scared of as well, because people who suffer in silence, it does eat away at people.
"People think they can say what they want and get away with it, and I don't think that should be the case at all."
Despite the issues, Dave is still keen to show what he has to offer on-screen, with UK shows such as Celebrity Big Brother and I'm A Celebrity two options he'd be happy to explore.
He is also interested in giving back to the community and helping others who may be struggling. "I'd love to get into the side of helping young males with their mental health. I think I'm very well experienced enough to talk and help younger kids, especially males.
"Life is full of happiness and joy and these dark days are okay as well. They're going to be there. I think that the biggest message of all... You know, you can change what you're going through."

Coronation Street star shares loved-up snap as she confirms relationship
Corrie favourite Cait Fitton finally gave fans a glimpse of the new boyfriend she soft-launched on Instagram, as she shares images of her sweet birthday decorations to celebrate Coronation Street actress Cait Fitton has made her new relationship Instagram official, after sharing a birthday post for her mystery boyfriend. The 23-year-old, who plays Corrie's Lauren Bolton, teased her new partner a few weeks back, telling fans her "boyfriend" had bought her a Jellycat toy. But now, she's taken her new romance to the next level, having shared a photo on her story showing some silver '23' balloons, as well as a photo of what appears to be her boyfriend. She sweetly wrote: "A day celebrating you," following her message with a white loveheart emoji. Her previous story post showed a collage of images of her with her partner, with Cait writing: "Happy birthday to my man." She added: "Thank you for blessing my life." The snaps showed them posing for a selfie, as well as a fun photo of them glammed up posing together. Another photo showed them holding hands, but she's still not named her new partner. Cait, who has been a regular on the cobbles since 2022, recently opened up about the difficulties of fame, admitting it took her a "long time" to get used to being recognised. Wanting to keep her relationship private in its early stages seems a natural choice for the star. She told the Mirror: "It's taken me a long time to have thick skin, it's not an overnight process. We are normal people outside of filming, but everyone sees the characters as actual people. That can be really hard, especially with Lauren, who is a complex character." Cait has been getting used to working without her close pal Paddy Bever, who played on-screen boyfriend Max Turner, after his character was arrested and imprisoned for arson. She added: "It's been really hard without Paddy. "My journey started with him, and his time ended with me. It was strange to wrap my head around doing scenes without him. I miss working with Paddy." Although the pair, who even went on holiday together in 2023, no longer see each other at work, they are still good friends. Cait added: "I am in touch with him. We're both very busy, but we do catch up. We are in need of an in-person catch-up soon." While Cait's personal life is settled and content, her character Lauren is about to have her world turned upside down, after the actress teased an upcoming plotline. Having overcome abuse at the hands of Joel Deering, which ended in his death, and welcoming her baby son Frankie, Lauren's had plenty of trauma to deal with. But just as things are looking up for the troubled barmaid, it's all about to go downhill, according to Cait. She explained: "She's at a really stable point of her life. She has a job at the Rovers behind the bar, and she's learning the craft. She's trying to build relationships. That's where the party comes in.' Lauren's chance to let her hair down quickly descends into chaos when Aadi (Adam Hussain) and Bernie (Jane Hazelgrove) decide to throw a midsummer party. When Lauren arrives with Dylan, Brody and Betsy, she realises Brody has brought some LSD. What begins as a chance to let loose quickly spirals into disaster for Lauren. The chaos kicks off when Aadi (Adam Hussain), nudged by Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove), throws a midsummer party. Cait revealed: "Lauren doesn't even know what is going on. She has anxiety over whether or not she should even be there because she doesn't know anybody apart from Betsy. She seems out of place, though she tries her best to fit in.' When Cait accidentally takes the hallucinogenic drug, the night goes south. Cait added: "She has a traumatic experience with it. We see a side of her that we haven't seen for months. "Her trauma is going to affect her future. It's going to be a rollercoaster. Everybody at that party - their lives are going to be changed. I don't know how she'll go through it."

'I'll never forget my final conversation with Shane Warne - his death shocked me'
'I'll never forget my final conversation with Shane Warne - his death shocked me' Shane Warne and Phil Tufnell were on opposite sides during the 1990s, and the pair often locked horns, but they still shared a close friendship away from the cricket field Shane Warne passed away on back in 2022 after suffering a heart attack (Image: Popperfoto via Getty Images ) After numerous memorable encounters with Shane Warne, former England cricketer Phil Tufnell's last interaction with the Australian was rather unassuming. With his charming personality, bamboozling spinning ability and habit of finding himself in the headlines, Tufnell, 59, could be considered England's answer to Warne. While Tufnell might not have sported an earring or the bleach blonde hair that gave Warne his movie-star looks, he nevertheless had the skill to bewilder batsmen and make the ball turn on command. Notably, Tufnell eclipsed Warne during the 1997 Ashes by securing 11 wickets compared to the Aussie's four, leading England to a narrow 19-run win in the sixth test against Australia. Friendship blossomed between the two after their international cricket careers ended, with both contributing their insights to media coverage. The world, along with Tufnell, was shocked by Warne's sudden death due to a heart attack at age 52 on March 4, 2022. Tufnell reflects on his final words with Warne fondly. It was simply a routine farewell post-match, followed by a light-hearted confirmation that they both had cigarettes on hand. Speaking at the launch of The Overlap and Betfair's Stick to Cricket show, Tufnell told the Mirror: "I do a little bit actually (remember his last conversation with Warne). "I think we were at a cricket match. We have a breakout group there, so we're BBC and he was at Sky. As usual, we all meet up for a fag, we both used to smoke. I tell you what, it was one of those where we were just chatting. Article continues below "It was virtually, 'Oh, well, see you later. See you next year. Cheers mate. You got a fag, yeah? Alright! Cheers mate. Ta, bye.' Warne and Tufnell had many battles on the field (Image: Popperfoto via Getty Images ) "Then, shortly afterwards (when news of the death was confirmed), it was like, 'F***, what?' That was the shock. We just couldn't believe it." Warne's sudden passing while on holiday in Thailand was deeply felt across the sport. Tufnell recalled exactly where he was when he heard the devastating news. He said: "I was driving along in my car and I thought they'd got it wrong. I thought they'd got it wrong because I think Rod Marsh, the legendary Australian wicket-keeper, had passed away two or three days beforehand. Tufnell will be starring on Betfair's Stick to Cricket show (Image: Betfair/Stick to Cricket podcast ) "I thought they had got that (Warne's death) wrong on the radio. Then I turned to another channel and they said it again. "I stopped the car. Stopped the car. I had been working with him not so long ago in the media centre at a cricket match, just chatting to him. I just couldn't believe it." Warne is universally recognised as the finest leg spinner in history, concluding his illustrious career with a tally of 708 wickets, second only to Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan, who bagged 800. Article continues below Betfair are set for a big summer and winter of cricket, launching a new show with The Overlap: Stick to Cricket. Don't miss the first episode next week, where the team will be reviewing the opening test of the series between England and India.

Dame Deborah James' husband finds love again three years after her death
Campaigner Dame Deborah James died three years ago from bowel cancer. Dame Deborah James's widower, Sebastien Bowen, has been reported to be 'very much in love' as he is said to have found love again three years on from the campaiger's death. Dame Deborah tragically passed away in June 2022 after a battle with bowel cancer. Prior to her death, the podcaster was said to have encouraged her husband to 'move on' after her passing. Now three years later, it has been claimed that Sebastien has once again found love as he was seen with a mystery woman enjoying a date during the UK heatwave. Only at the age of 40 at the time of her death, Deborah had been battling an incurable form of bowel cancer and was very outspoken about her journey. While she raised millions for cancer research, she also did not hide the fact that she wanted her husband to move on when she was gone, reports the Mirror. Sebestien was reportedly seen last week to be walking along the River Thames in London hand in hand with a mystery woman. The couple was said to have dined at The River Cafe in Hammersmith, west London, as part of their day out. Seen to be wearing a casual blue shirt, a pair of chinos and trainers, Sebestien was certainly dressed to beat the heat as temperatures soared across the country. His new brunette partner was said to be wearing a striking red dress, perfect for the summer weather. A source told the Daily Mail: "They looked like they were very much in love." They also said the pair was seen to be gazing lovingly at each other as they walked with their arms wrapped around one another. They added: "It was very sweet. For anyone who was inspired by Dame Deborah's attitude to life, it was really heartening to see her husband looking happy again." It was reported last year that Sebestien had started to look for love again, but he was taking things "very slowly". An insider said: "Deborah is going to be a tough act to follow, as they had a fantastic marriage and made a great couple. But Seb feels the time has come for him to move on, as Deborah wanted him to." Known by millions on social media as Bowelbabe, Dame Deborah documented her cancer journey online and managed to raise over £11million for cancer research. As she was upfront and honest about her battle with the incurable disease, it was no surprise she gave the same honesty about wanting her husband to move on. Talking on the BBC Radio 5 Live show You, Me and The Big C, she described her husband as a "very eligible bachelor" and said she was aware that he would get attention from other women after her passing. She said: "I have given him strict instructions. I want him to move on. He's a handsome man, I'm like, 'Don't be taken for a ride, don't marry a bimbo, find someone else who can make you laugh like we did." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! However, while she was encouraging of her widower finding a new love, she also joked that she had a list of people she didn't want him to go on and date. If he did, she joked: "I would do my damned hardest to haunt him." Dame Deborah and Sebestien met in 2005 and went to get married three years later and have two kids. While it is tough for any family to lose a loved one, it seems that Sebestien has been blessed by both his wife and her family to move on. In 2023, Deborah's mum Heather said: "Deborah will be a hard act to follow but he has our blessing."
