Brooklyn Beckham's Family Has Reportedly Labeled Him 'The Hostage' In Marriage To Nicola Peltz Amid Feud

Yahooa day ago

Brooklyn Beckham's loved ones are reportedly concerned about him amid his marriage to Nicola Peltz.
Sources claim his family has branded him a "hostage" who's being "controlled" in his marriage to the billionaire heiress, as he seems to now be doing things he's known to have generally despised.
His parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, feel "betrayed" after the couple skipped the ex-football star's 50th birthday celebration as their strained relationship takes an "unbelievable" twist.
David and Victoria Beckham's eldest son, Brooklyn, has sparked worries among his loved ones as he and his wife, Nicola Peltz, continue to be estranged from his family.
According to the Daily Mail, Brooklyn is privately known to detest being filmed, and would only do it if he had to, he recently shared a video on Instagram where he's seen riding a motorbike with Nicola, seemingly showing he's siding with her in the bitter feud with his family and would do anything for her.
"My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you're the most amazing person I know xx me and you forever baby," Brooklyn wrote.
However, the video has only raised suspicion amongst his loved ones as his parents fear he is continually under Nicola's control.
"Brooklyn is now being referred to as 'the hostage.' He is in a situation where those who love Brooklyn fear that he is being controlled by Nicola, and it is heartbreaking," an insider close to the situation told the news outlet.
"Videos like this are just not what he does. He will be dying inside," they continued. "He's soppy and he's a romantic, but that video just isn't him. He hates all of that stuff, so you have to wonder if Nicola was behind it."
Brooklyn, who married Nicola in April 2022 at her parents' £ 76 million home in Palm Beach, Florida, has now become estranged from his family as he sought to carve out his own space away from his parents' shadow. However, his attempt at independence was seemingly met with resistance from his parents.
"Brooklyn has been trying to separate himself from his parents, set boundaries, and focus on creating his own life with Nicola, and feels like they have lashed out in return," a source previously shared, per Page Six.
The young couple has notably skipped several Beckham family functions, including David's recent golden jubilee celebration.
They also didn't attend a big family party at the Beckhams' Cotswolds home, nor make it for an idyllic trip to France, or a meal at Notting Hill restaurant, Core.
According to the Daily Mail, Brooklyn also missed a "boys fishing trip" to the Scottish Highlands with David and his younger brothers Romeo and Cruz, and a pre-birthday bash at Cipriani restaurant in Miami at the end of March.
The Beckham family feud also seems to be causing friction between Brooklyn and his siblings.
He recently jetted into the country for a photo shoot with Italian luxury fashion brand Moncler, but didn't tell David and Victoria he was in town, nor did he find time to see his brothers and sister.
Brooklyn is understood to have fallen out with his immediate younger brother Romeo during the time of his wedding with Nicola, when the actress seemingly refused to speak to Romeo's then-girlfriend Mia Regan. However, Brooklyn's relationship with his youngest brother, Cruz, or sister, Harper, seems to have also soured.
"Brooklyn has barely ever had a cross word with Cruz - and yet he hasn't seen him for ages," an insider shared, per the Daily Mail. "You have to wonder if he isn't allowed [to see him]."
They continued, "Then there is Harper. It is absolutely heartbreaking that Brooklyn and Nicola didn't bother to see her when they came to London last week."
"Nicola used to be all over her like a rash, posing for pictures and putting them on TikTok or Instagram, saying that Harper was her little sister," the insider shared, adding that Nicola was perhaps "using" Harper "for her own image."
"Whatever the reason, to cut a young girl out of this when she literally has had no part to play is cruel," the source noted. "It is just unbelievable that Brooklyn would do this of his own accord.
Meanwhile, David and Victoria reportedly "feel betrayed" by their eldest son after he skipped his dad's 50th birthday milestone celebration.
"Victoria and David haven't called, texted, or messaged Brooklyn directly since the birthday party," an insider told Us Weekly, describing their absence as "a blow" to their once-strong familial bond.
The source explained that there is "very deep tension rooted in control and different plans for Brooklyn's future."
"Nicola comes from a powerful family," the source noted of her parents: billionaire hedge fund founder Nelson Peltz and former fashion model Claudia Heffner. "David and Victoria are used to being in control [of situations like this] and there has been a shift."
Although friends and family close to the Beckhams believe there's a "long road to mending" strained ties, the insider shared that "there's a desire to mend on David and Victoria's part."
Brooklyn may be distanced from his famous family, but he's reportedly leaning heavily on the unwavering support of Nicola.
According to insiders who spoke to TMZ, the couple feels exhausted and frustrated with what they describe as the "toxic" and "narcissistic" behavior of David and Victoria.
One source alleged that the former football player often "verbally berates" Brooklyn during phone calls.
Victoria is said to follow up tense moments with carefully crafted texts to Nicola, supposedly to make it seem like David "didn't just scream at Brooklyn for an hour."

Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil exit from Real Madrid under FIFA investigation

By the time Carlo Ancelotti left Real Madrid, he had already been announced as the new Brazil manager. With the Italian's time up, and both Ancelotti and Real Madrid planning for the future in late April, a rather unusual situation occurred. Despite the radio silence from the club and the denials of Ancelotti, the Italian coach was in talks with Brazil over becoming their manager and Los Blancos had contacted Xabi Alonso about taking over. At the time Brazil were on the charm offensive, and intermediary Diego Fernandes was a consistent presence at the Santiago Bernabeu. FIFA open investigation into Diego Fernandes commission Fernandes, a Brazilian businessman who is close to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), but without an official role, was staying in Madrid in an attempt to broker a deal between Ancelotti and Brazil. When the deal was done, Fernandes was pictured with Ancelotti, and transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano cited him as 'taking care of talks'. As explained by Sport, FIFA have opened an investigation into the negotiation, and have demanded that the CBF explain the €1.2m commission paid to Fernandes. The Catalan daily explain that he was contracted by the CBF, and his name features in Ancelotti's contract. Fernandes is not a registered agent The crux of the issue is that Fernandes is not a registered FIFA agent, and thus was not permitted to approach Ancelotti on Brazil's behalf. Sport quote information from UOL Esporte, who say that FIFA have demanded explanations from the CBF by the 4th of June, the day before Ancelotti's Brazil debut against Ecuador. Image via Juanjo Martín / Diario AS Ancelotti set for baptism of fire with Brazil On the pitch, Ancelotti is facing a tricky start. They will play away in Quito against Ecuador, and then host Paraguay the following week. The former occupy second spot in the South American qualifying table, and have lost just twice. Meanwhile Paraguay are a spot behind Brazil, and level on points. They have not lost under current manager Gustavo Alfaro, beating Argentina in November. Ancelotti has just a year to get Brazil in shape to challenge for the World Cup next summer.

Mexican band Grupo Firme cancels US show, saying their visas were suspended by Trump administration

MEXICO CITY (AP) — The popular Mexican regional music band Grupo Firme announced on Friday that it was canceling a performance in a music festival in California over the weekend after the United States government suspended the musicians' visas. It comes after the U.S. State Department has revoked visas of a number of Mexican musicians for playing a genre of music that it says glorifies cartel violence. The group, which has soared to international fame playing Mexican regional music, said in a statement posted on its Instagram account that the visas of them and their team are currently under 'administrative review by the U.S. Embassy" and that it would make it 'impossible' for them to perform in the La Onda Fest to be held in the city of Napa Valley, California on June 1. But the post didn't detail what it would mean in the long term for the musical group. The U.S. Embassy in Mexico said that visa cases are confidential according to U.S. law and couldn't provide more information on the case. The suspension is just the latest in a series of moves the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has taken targeting Mexican artists in the genre, who in some cases have glorified the leaders of cartels as sort of Robin Hood figures. While the genre of 'narco-corridos' has stirred controversy, much of the music also speaks to the harsh realities facing Mexican youth caught in cartel violence. Two months ago, the Mexican musical group Los Alegres del Barranco was sanctioned after it projected images of the leader of the feared Jalisco New Generation Cartel at a concert in the western state of Jalisco. 'I'm a firm believer in freedom of expression, but that doesn't mean that expression should be free of consequences,' U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said at the time. 'The last thing we need is a welcome mat for people who extol criminals and terrorists.'
