'Changed the trajectory of the club' – Heung-min Son among Spurs players to pay tribute to Postecoglou
Tottenham captain Heung-min Son is among the players to have paid a heartfelt tribute to Ange Postecoglou.
Postecoglou has been sacked by Tottenham after two years in charge of the club.
He guided Spurs to the Europa League title last season but was let go after a poor Premier League campaign which saw his side finish 17th.

'You believed in yourself, and us, since day one and never wavered for a second. Even when others did.
'You knew what we were capable of all along. You did it your way. And your way brought this club the best night it's had in decades. We will have those memories for life.
'You trusted me with the captaincy. One of the highest honours of my career. It's been an incredible privilege to learn from your leadership up close. I am a better player and a better person because of you.
'Ange Postecoglou, you are a Tottenham Hotspur legend forever. Thank you, mate.'
Meanwhile, striker Dominic Solanke said: 'Thank you for bringing me to this wonderful club, thank you for bringing us a wonderful trophy.

'You are not only a top manager, you are an incredible person to work for, a real leader, a mentor, and someone I'll always look up to.

Injured Manchester United starter still hoping to feature vs Arsenal

Andre Onana is still hoping to be fit to face Arsenal in Manchester United's first game of the new Premier League campaign, as he works to recover from injury. Photo by PATRICK T. FALLON/AFP via Getty Images The Manchester Evening News report in their print edition on Tuesday, August 5th that Andre Onana hopes to be available for Manchester United's opening Premier League fixture against Arsenal. Onana has been out of action since the first week of pre-season training with a hamstring injury, and he's already missed all but one of their friendly matches. Yet he's optimistic he'll be ready in time for the Arsenal clash. 'I feel good, I feel great,' Onana said on Sunday. 'It's been a few difficult weeks but, yes, hopefully, I will be back for the start of the season. 'I'm enjoying the training with my guys and we are looking forward.' Photo by PATRICK T. FALLON/AFP via Getty Images A return for Onana against Arsenal would be a boost for United, given the initial timeline suggested he wouldn't be back until August 23rd at the very earliest. Even that would be a week too late to play against Mikel Arteta's side. Lisandro Martinez will be out of the match with his ACL injury, but Joshua Zirkzee is also expected to return in time for the Arsenal game. Noussair Mazraoui is being assessed for a hamstring injury, so he may or may not be available depending on the outcome of that assessment. Liverpool considers letting 7 players depart as transfer priority becomes clear

Liverpool could stop all business now, and it would still have been one of the most eventful transfer windows in recent history. Florian Wirtz represents a caliber of signing that the Reds do not usually make, and he is just one of a number of exciting additions to have taken the overall spend well above $300 million. In defense, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez could be the full-backs of the future (although Conor Bradley may have something to say about that). In attack, Hugo Ekitike has joined Wirtz, creating a formidable threat. And yet we are not done. The Alexander Isak chase is ongoing — taking yet another twist today when Man United formalized its interest in Benjamin Sesko, a move with potentially significant ramifications at Liverpool. READ MORE: Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Benjamin Sesko wait, Alexander Isak boost, Darwin Nunez bid READ MORE: Florian Wirtz just unlocked $81M Liverpool ace as exciting new Arne Slot plan becomes clear Were Liverpool to still succeed in getting a deal for Isak over the line, Arne Slot's new-look attack would be mind-boggling. Isak, Ekitike, Wirtz, Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, and a gaggle of promising youngsters like Rio Ngumoha and Ben Doak would be an embarrassment of riches. Such a front line would only elevate the team's status as the favorite to retain its title and lift the Premier League once again. But the remaining incoming transfer priorites may nonetheless lie at the other end of the pitch. Per The Athletic, Isak is being pursued because he is special. Were that push to fail, Liverpool would not automatically look for another striker. On the other hand, Slot would ideally add another center-back before deadline day. Unlike in attack, that is a case of being short on numbers — in the final round of friendlies before the season gets underway, Ibrahima Konate was the only fit option. Slot made do with Trey Nyoni, Andy Robertson and Wataru Endo. The latter is considered a genuine option in a pinch, as is Ryan Gravenberch, but it's clear that Liverpool could do with another signing in that position as a priority. On the outgoing front, as many as seven players could still leave. That shouldn't be unduly suprisisng, with a net spend of around $235 million already and a deal for Isak being explored. There's no indication that Darwin Nunez's future is directly tied to the Isak pursuit, with Liverpool likely to cash in regardless. But it's true that he would be able to raise a reasonable chunk of the fee it would take to tempt Newcastle to sell, with Al Hilal making him a priority target recently. Other departures would likely include more peripheral players. Tyler Morton has only ever made two Premier League appearances for Liverpool, and 14 in all competitions, and yet he is on the verge of netting the club $20 million in a switch to Lyon. Less advanced, but also representing potential pure profit from the academny, James McConnell and Luca Stephenson are both considering their futures. They are expected to go out on loan as things stand, but permanent moves are possible amid growing interest. The other notable youngster is Ben Doak. As things stand, Liverpool has put a decision on hold, as it waits to see what kind of permanent transfer interest crystallizes. If a deal is done, Liverpool can expect to bank in excess of $26.5 million, having rejected offers of that value in January. West Ham and Wolves are believed to be among a long queue of interested parties, per David Lynch. Completing the list of seven, Kostas Tsimikas and Federico Chiesa could yet depart. Both were peripheral last season, and the signings already completed this summer are likely to bump them both further down the pecking order. Chiesa is considered likely to leave this month, whereas Tsimikas is still weighing up his options. But with Kerkez and Andy Robertson now presumably ahead of him, nobody would begrudge the Greek a move. So there is clearly lots still to happen, with the Community Shield now just days away. A starting XI is beginning to take shape, although even that could still change, and the wider squad could still undergo some major trimming. Even outside of those seven players, there are still question marks over the likes of Harvey Elliott, another who could fetch a potentially major fee. Lots has already happened on the transfer front, but the drama is only just beginning.

Sky Sports: Burnley ‘Reach Agreement' to Sign Chelsea Forward

Burnley Closing In On Chelsea Striker Broja Agreement According to Sky Sports News reporters Dharmesh Sheth and Adrian Kajumba, Burnley and Chelsea have reached a broad agreement on many aspects of a deal for Armando Broja. The 23-year-old Albania international appears to be edging closer to a move to Turf Moor, with talks continuing over the structure of the agreement. Personal terms are not expected to be an obstacle, with the player reportedly set to agree to a five-year contract. That length of deal shows Burnley's intent to build their Premier League future around young, promising talent. Ambition Shown In Early Transfer Window Moves Broja, who has battled for game time at Chelsea amid intense competition, has long been admired by a number of Premier League clubs. Burnley's emergence as the leading contender highlights their readiness to compete at the top level following promotion under Scott Parker. 'Personal terms on a five-year contract are not expected to be an issue,' Sky Sports News report, indicating the mutual interest between player and club is strong. Photo: IMAGO Such decisiveness in the market can send a message across the league, particularly when it comes to attracting players with top-flight experience. Player Profile And Potential Impact Broja's pace, power and direct style could provide Burnley with a much-needed focal point in attack. Standing at 6ft 3in, he offers a physical presence but also the technical quality to link play and exploit space in behind. Chelsea, meanwhile, may view this as a chance for the striker to flourish with regular minutes after a frustrating spell on the fringes at Stamford Bridge. For Burnley, this represents a strategic investment rather than a short-term gamble. Strong Foundations For Premier League Survival A player of Broja's profile fits with Parker's likely approach of organised defensive shape, quick transitions and aggressive pressing in advanced areas. Given Burnley's need for goals and top-level experience, this deal could be central to their survival hopes. Fans will be encouraged that the club is moving swiftly and ambitiously in the market. Securing a long-term commitment from a striker of Broja's calibre before the season begins could prove vital in ensuring Burnley remain competitive throughout the campaign. Our View – EPL Index Analysis As a Burnley supporter, this is the type of signing that makes you sit up and think, 'We really mean business this season.' Coming back into the Premier League under Scott Parker, the first thing we all wondered was how we would strengthen the squad to handle the step up in quality. Seeing us close in on a deal for Armando Broja is exactly the sort of move that gives hope. Broja has pace, strength and a hunger to prove himself after limited chances at Chelsea. You can see him fitting into our system, running at defenders, chasing down every lost cause and giving us that extra bite up front. We have been crying out for a striker who can stretch the game and take on defenders one-on-one, and Broja ticks those boxes. The five-year contract speaks volumes. It is not just a loan to survive, it is about building something sustainable. The thought of Broja linking up with our wide players and getting service into the box is exciting. If this deal gets done quickly, we can head into the season with momentum and belief.
