Desperate Inter Milan supporters beg stewards to let them back into San Siro after leaving Champions League classic against Barcelona at 3-2 down - as fans declare it 'serves them right'
Desperate Inter Milan fans were left pleading to get back into San Siro after leaving early before the Italian side reached the Champions League final in an extraordinary tie against Barcelona.
Davide Frattesi scored an extra time winner to give Inter a 4-3 victory on the night over Barcelona in an all-time classic.
The hosts went two goals up in the first half thanks to Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Çalhanoğlu but Barcelona appeared to have completed a remarkable turnaround with Eric García and Dani Olmo on the scoresheet before Raphinha gave the Catalans the lead in the 87th minute.
With only two minutes of stoppage time remaining, 37-year-old centre-back Francesco Acerbi dramatically smashed the ball into the roof of the net to take the tie to extra time and see San Siro erupt.
But a number of unlucky Inter fans had already raced out of the stadium and were forced to beg stewards to allow them to return with little success.
A video posted by TNT Sports on X shows a small group of fans hopelessly pleading with a steward outside the 80,000 seat stadium.

The unfortunate Inter fans missed a tense end to a spectacular semi-final which saw Simone Inzhagi's side reach the Champions League final for the second time in three seasons.
Nine minutes into extra time Fratessi sparked euphoric scenes by curling a left-footed shot into the bottom corner and climbing up a security fence to celebrate in front of the home support.
Lamine Yamal was then denied twice by Yann Sommer as the Italians held out to keep the score at 7-6 on aggregate and to reach the final in Munich.
Fans took to social media to berate Inter supporters for leaving early.
One said: 'Missing one of the greatest games in history, no real fan would walk out at that point.'
Another added: 'Serves them right! Jog on home and miss one of the greatest games in your clubs history.'

The semi-final was the joint-highest ever in Champions League history, level with Liverpool's 7-6 victory over Roma in 2018.
Inter lost to Manchester City in the final two years ago and will play Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain at the Allianz Arena on May 31.
The Gunners go into this semi-final second leg on the back of last week's 1-0 loss with a final shot to salvage their season.

With the Light Blues in Champions League qualifying action on July 22/23 and 29/30, the summer rebuild must start soon. We looked at how Martin could transform Rangers, in particular by recruiting trusted former players. Gers chief Stewart acknowledged there is a lot of ground to be made up on Celtic in the league, but believes Martin has arrived early enough for them to make signings before the Euro qualifiers next month. Speaking in an interview with Rangers TV, he said: 'There is a lot of hard work to be done, just to be clear. I think there always is every pre-season for Rangers because the European qualifiers come so early, so let's not shy away from that. 'That said, we have got Russell in and the transfer window doesn't open for another ten days and the first team don't return for another two weeks, so actually you could look at it glass half full and say we have got him in well in advance of those two key events. 'But let's not kid ourselves, there is a lot of hard work to be done but I know Russell is determined to get stuck into that. 'The potential of Rangers, we know it is unfulfilled at the moment. 'This is a huge club and supporters, players, management and staff, we have all been frustrated at not having achieved the heights. He said that combining Martin's knowledge with Thelwell's contacts book should lead to positive results in the transfer market. Stewart said that they will pay close attention to the Scottish and English markets, as players there will have an understanding of the British game. But that won't stop them from scouting players further afield - the only condition being that they must ALREADY be suited to playing in Scotland, rather than trying to mould them into the finished product. He said: 'Having an understanding of the Scottish game I would say is a key factor because every league is unique and we can look at some of the fixtures that have to be played as part of the SPFL. 'Every ground has its nuances and every club has its nuances, so somebody that comes in with an understanding of that is a huge asset. 'Equally, when it comes to recruiting players having a knowledge of markets outside of Scotland and players outside of Scotland, and off-the-pitch talent outside of Scotland as well, is a huge advantage. Zinedine Zidane rejected Man Utd job despite being handed blank cheque
Zinedine Zidane turned down blank cheques to join Manchester United and Chelsea as manager, according to his former France team-mate Marcel Desailly. Zidane has only ever managed Real Madrid at the first team level but remains often linked to some of the world's top jobs. The 1998 World Cup-winning midfielder won three Champions League titles in a row in his first spell with Los Blancos and won two La Liga titles across his two stints in the Bernabeu hotseat. Zidane resigned from his position in 2021 after failing to win a trophy - the first time Real Madrid had failed to do so in more than a decade - and has not managd since. And Desailly has suggested that Zidane has turned down lucrative proposals to return to football. Maintaining his current lifestyle and travelling remains important to the 52-year-old. Former Chelsea defender Desailly believes that Zidane will be the person to take over from Didier Deschamps for the French national team however. A move to the Saudi Pro League does not appear likely in the mind of the ex-Blues captain however. "Will Zinedine Zidane be tempted by Saudi Arabia? Well he had a blank cheque on the table from Chelsea and a blank cheque from Manchester United and turned them down – he isn't in it for the money," said Oddspedia. "I don't see why money will change anything, I know privately that he won't change his lifestyle. He likes to travel and always keeps an eye on the France national team. "He's ready because Didier Deschamps has started the transition. France will be one of the favourites for the World Cup and win or lose it's not the end of this era for France. "Since 2016, France have been growing and growing. New players have come into the team constantly and now they have the right players. Rayan Cherki is one of them alongside Ousmane Dembele, Kylian Mbappe is still there and on top of his game. "There is a real dynamic. William Saliba is in defence with Ibrahima Konate, Bayern have Dayot Upamecano. There is a squad and a philosophy and Zidane will know how to take that on to rebuild his own team. For another eight years at least France will be at the top level in Europe." With Zidane out of the picture, Desailly believes Manchester United should look to Luis Enrique to turnaround their fortunes. And despite Champions League success, he would not be surprised to see Enrique depart Paris Saint-Germain. " Football moves quickly and say that next season he makes too many mistakes, he might get into conflict with players like Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue as they grow and have a bigger say on the system," he said. "Soon they will be able to say no to the coach and his influence and because anything can happen, he might end up in the Premier League. "We are talking about something that didn't happen 20 years ago, but tactical coaching is now in the Premier League thanks to Claudio Ranieri and Jose Mourinho and so many other coaches. The Premier League has grown. "Luis Enrique would bring a new dynamic and if I was at Manchester United, I'd be asking Luis Enrqiue to come to my club. They have tried all kinds of coaches and now all eyes are on Enrique because he can build a philosophy from scratch. Manchester United need Luis Enrique." Man Utd move ahead of Arsenal in Gyokeres race after Ratcliffe decision
Manchester United are back in the hunt for Viktor Gyokeres as they eye a new frontman with Sir Jim Ratcliffe's financial decisions potentially freeing up funds to land the Sporting Lisbon star Manchester United look to be leading the race for Viktor Gyokeres - leaping ahead of Arsenal as the Sporting Lisbon striker looks poised to move on this summer. Gyokeres has just smashed the 50-goal barrier in Portugal, helping his side claim the domestic double, but a move to pastures new is expected. Links to Manchester have been occurring since Ruben Amorim was appointed as manager - and a reunion is now on the cards. United are going after more firepower this summer, signing Matheus Cunha, and Gyokeres could be the man to lead their line. It is understood that the Swede is not put off by the lack of Champions League football and is open to the move. United's failure to qualify for European football initially looked like it would serious damage their hopes of spending big in the summer, but that may no longer be the case. The Sun reports that Sir Jim Ratcliffe's unpopular decisions could be about to bear fruit. His cost-cutting measures have seen numerous members of staff lose their job but the club's recently released quarterly account revealed that their operating expenses have dropped by over £40million. That could free up funds for United to go after Gyokeres, who is valued at around £65m. That is less than his release clause but the Swede has an agreement with Sporting to let him depart for less after he chose to stick around last summer. Already Amorim has captured Matheus Cunha for £62.5m. Arsenal have been heavily linked as they look to solve their issues in the final third but their primary target looks to be Benjamin Sesko at RB Leipzig. That could leave United a free path to go after Gyokeres. Throughout the campaign both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee failed to inspire confidence leading the line at Old Trafford. As a result there was always expected to be movement in that area of the squad and that could lead to an overhaul. Gyokeres himself has spoken out on his future and recently said: 'Let us see. It's hard for me to say, because yeah it is football and you never know what's going to happen in the summer. So for me to say anything else than that is impossible.' United recently missed out on Liam Delap, who impressed for Ipswich throughout last season. He chose Chelsea over the Manchester outfit, moving to Stamford Bridge for £30m.
