The cash-grab continues as Netflix announces its sixth price hike since its Aussie launch

Stop me if you've heard this one: Netflix is hiking its prices again in Australia. In what is starting to feel like an Aussie twist on "Money Heist", the streaming giant will be liberating us from even more of our cash from September 2025. Netflix subscribers received emails over the weekend outlining price changes, including a AU$2 increase for the Standard with ads tier, now priced at AU$9.99 p/m, another AU$2 hike for the Standard tier, bringing it to AU$20.99 p/m, and a AU$3 rise for the Premium tier, which now costs a hefty AU$28.99 p/m. For these keeping score at home, this marks the sixth time that Netflix has increased its prices since the service's Australian launch back in March 2015. Netflix introduced its first price increase across all tiers just two years after launching in Australia in June 2017. This was followed by hikes to the Premium tier in October 2019, the Basic and Standard tiers in September 2020, the Standard and Premium tiers in November 2021, and all three paid tiers in May 2024. During this period, Netflix also launched a paid Basic with ads tier, which was later replaced by a Standard with ads tier that included HD streaming. According to Netflix's email, the service has updated its prices "to bring you even more exciting, new entertainment," along with "fresh, can't-miss shows and movies every week (including 71 new releases next month)." Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like Australia's cost-of-living pressures will be easing any time soon, though at least we'll be able to keep ourselves entertained with multi-part seasons of shows like "Wednesday" and "Stranger Things" that will be dragged out over several pay cycles. In the meantime, you can keep on top of the service's cost fluctuations in our Netflix pricing in Australia guide, along with other local services like Disney Plus, Stan and Prime Video.

The Gilded Age Season 4 - News, Cast, Updates, More

The penultimate episode of the third season of The Gilded Age ended not with the clang of a champagne glass, but with a bang (quite literally) when the Russell family patriarch found himself on the receiving end of a gun moments before the credits rolled. It was a shocking moment, particularly given the relatively poised and civil nature of the series — though, given poor John Adams's equally shocking death in the previous episode, it's becoming a bit of a pattern these days. So will George Russell manage to survive his injuries? The trailer for the season finale makes it seem like his fate could go either way. But what about the fate of The Gilded Age itself? With the show's third season coming to a close, many fans will undoubtedly be curious about when — or even if — the HBO Max hit series will return for a fourth go-round. And since it would be downright rude not to oblige, here's everything you need to know about The Gilded Age season 4: Unlike the fate of George Russell, the future of The Gilded Age is already known. HBO officially renewed the series for a fourth season back in July, which means more drama and societal hijinks is on the horizon. 'We couldn't be prouder of the undeniable viewership heights The Gilded Age has achieved this season,' HBO's Francesca Orsi said in a statement, as per Deadline. 'Transporting us to 1880s New York City, Julian Fellowes and the enormously talented cast and crew have created a 'cant-miss it' entertainment experience from week to week, and we're delighted to continue exploring these characters' grand ambitions for what we promise will be a thrilling fourth season.' Considering that we don't know how the season will end, it's impossible to say for sure what sort of content season 4 will cover. But odds are that a lot of these storylines from season 3 will be wrapping up to make way for new adventures and problems, in equal measure. Most likely, season 4 should reveal where Marion and Larry stand in regards to their romantic relationship, once and for all, now that the whole truth is out in the open. And, of course, depending upon when or if George Russell is able to recover from his injuries, there are bound to be lasting ripple effects from the shooting for the entire Russell family, both physically and emotionally. This show has been fairly regular with churning out seasons as opposed to keeping fans waiting for years on end, though their release schedule has been a little sporadic. Season 1 premiered in January 2022, followed by season 2 debuting in October 2023. Meanwhile, season 3 kicked off in June 2025. That makes predicting the season 4 premiere a little tricky — at least when it comes to guessing the month — but it seems fairly plausible that the series will return sometime in 2026, barring any scheduling conflicts with the cast, which isn't too far away. Normally, I would say that this show doesn't have a history of killing off central characters a la Game of Thrones-style, which would make every character's return very likely. However, that sentiment doesn't really seem to track these days. Morgan Spector recently told Variety that viewers should be 'very worried' in regards to George Russell's fate on the show, even going so far as to admit that 'I don't have a contract for next season yet, so who knows?' But while poor George's head may be on the chopping block, you would think many of the other key players will be coming back, including Carrie Coon, Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Denée Benton, Louisa Jacobson, Harry Richardson, and Blake Ritson, among many others. Though, this season has been particularly fraught with peril, so with the finale still looming on the horizon, who knows what could happen.

A new report confirms that the reigning TNT Champion, Kyle Fletcher, has signed a new, long-term, multi-year contract with the company. More News: Two Superstars May No Longer Be With WWE According to a report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, AEW sources have confirmed the deal. The new contract ensures that Fletcher will be a cornerstone of the promotion for years to come. AEW "Big Money" Deal For Kyle Fletcher The Fightful report notes that the multi-year deal was quietly agreed to earlier this spring. It is considered a "big money" contract, especially in relation to Fletcher's young age, and is a clear sign of the company's faith in him. AEW President Tony Khan reportedly communicated that he sees Fletcher as a "big part of AEW's future." The 26-year-old is now positioned to be a major player in the company moving forward. A New Singles AEW Champion The contract news comes just weeks after the biggest victory of Fletcher's singles career. Courtesy of AEW More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match The victory was a star-making moment for the young Aussie. It also came with some controversy, as the match resulted in a legitimate, long-term knee injury for the beloved veteran, Rhodes. As the new champion, Fletcher is now a central figure on AEW television. Kyle Fletcher first made a name for himself as one-half of the world-renowned tag team, Aussie Open, with his partner Mark Davis. The duo were international stars, capturing tag team championships in major promotions like New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Ring of Honor. After Davis was sidelined with an injury, Fletcher seamlessly transitioned into a singles role in AEW. He aligned himself with the villainous Don Callis Family, and under the manipulative manager's guidance, his career has been elevated to a new level. Now, with a major singles championship and a new long-term contract, the future has never been brighter for Kyle Fletcher. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.
