Moscow is genuinely interested in the revival of activities within the framework of the Russia-India-China (RIC) format, Russian Foreign Minister

said on Thursday.
'I would like to confirm our genuine interest in the earliest resumption of the work within the format of the troika -- Russia, India, China -- which was established many years ago on the initiative of (ex-Russian prime minister) Yevgeny Primakov, and which has organised meetings more than 20 times at the ministerial level since then, not only at the level of foreign policy chiefs, but also the heads of other economic, trade and financial agencies of the three countries,' Lavrov was quoted as saying by

The foreign minister was addressing an international social and political conference on forming a single and equitable system of security and cooperation in Eurasia in the city of Perm in the Ural mountains, where Europe borders with Asia, at the plenary session of the conference.

However, the bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Russia's Kazan in October 2024 was seen as a thaw when the two leaders expressed the need to improve bilateral relations.

"We emphasise the critical importance of inter-community people-to-people dialogue at grassroots level involving local governance institutions, civil society groups, student bodies and religious institutions. This will lay the foundation of healing, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence," the legislators said. "We underscored the need of central paramilitary forces and state forces to act with strict neutrality and reiterated the urgency of a well-monitored effort to recover looted weapons and disarmament in the hills and the valley," the statement said. The legislators also acknowledged the "public desire to see the formation of a popular government". "We discussed pathways to achieve this with unity and selflessness. We resolve to put aside personal ambitions in the larger interests of the state, its people, and the vision of BJP and its alliance partners in Manipur," they said. "With collective determination and inclusive leadership, we believe the state can once again find its path towards unity and progress," they added. Metro trains start running in Indore as PM inaugurates first phase
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the first phase of the Indore metro project through video link from Bhopal, marking the beginning of the first metro rail service in Madhya Pradesh. Speaking at the Women Empowerment Mega Conference in Bhopal on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar, Modi said, "Madhya Pradesh has received its first metro today. Indore has already earned global recognition for its cleanliness. Now, the city will also be known for its metro." Commercial operations started on Saturday on the approximately 6 km 'Super Priority Corridor' between Gandhi Nagar Station and Station No 3 of the 'Super Corridor', officials said.
