A Place in The Sun's Laura Hamilton fronts new campaign

A Place in The Sun's Laura Hamilton is fronting a new campaign after giving a health update about the need to monitor blood disease immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), which can cause bleeding and bruising, while travelling. Laura launched the campaign with a healthy food brand in Surrey, surprising five shoppers with £100 cash towards their shop.
Laura is working with salad experts Florette to launch their 'Tasty Escapes' promotion. Foodies have the chance to win £100 every day in May, June and July, plus the chance to bag themselves one of three luxury holidays. £100 can be won instantly every day to help with the big shop or last-minute holiday essentials.
Laura will also be creating holiday-inspired recipes for Florette and sharing expert food and travel tips on her social channels. Florette has also teamed up with Laura's podcast The Mile Fly Club bringing travel-inspired content alongside celeb guests.
Laura said: "It's no secret that travel and food are some of my favourite things. Crafting the perfect summer salads using Florette has been a really fun task. I've loved learning about new cuisines and researching holiday destinations. Summer is the perfect time to experiment in the kitchen, especially with fresh ingredients that make you feel excited and energised.
"The 'Tasty Escapes' promotion is a fab idea, I've loved getting involved and surprising the lovely shoppers in Surrey has got to be the highlight of the summer for me."
Sophie Harrison, Senior Brand Manager at Florette Salad, said: "We're so excited to partner with Laura. Her travel know-how will take her recipes to the next level, turning a simple dinner into a fun adventure."
Shoppers need to pick up one of Florette's special promotional salad bags to be in with a chance of winning £100 or a holiday. The promotion will run until July 31 in Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, Booths, Iceland, Booker, Home Bargains and Farmfoods.

The 11 most expensive-looking pieces in the supermarkets this week - including £15 F&F jeans that look so chic

While there's no better place for outfit inspiration than the Instagram app, the reality is that most of the fashion influencers we follow have a wardrobe few of us can afford. Shirt dresses from Simkhai, suede bags from Liffner and raffia sandals from Aquazzura; our feeds are a parade of high-end brands. But looking like our most polished selves doesn't have to come with a designer price tag. As editors it's our job to scour the high street for the sort of pieces that look far more expensive than their price tag. (And there's no bigger reward than being able to reply, 'Oh, no, this dress is actually from M&S ' when someone asks whether it's from Reformation.) But can we let you in on another secret? Some of the best basics to elevate your wardrobe can be found in the same place you're doing your weekly food shop: supermarkets. Our advice? Stroll (or scroll) past the 'on-trend' pieces and look for versatile wardrobe staples that you'll want to wear for years to come. Avoid synthetics such as polyester, as well as overpowering colours and prints. Instead, opt for clean lines (a timeless design will always look more designer), premium fabrics (think: cottons, linens and viscose), neutral colours (whites, beiges, blues and blacks) or rich tones (deep browns, yellows and reds). Below, we've rounded the most expensive-looking supermarket buys you can pick up in-store or online right now, from a co-ord from Tu at Sainsbury's and a midi dress from F&F at Tesco to barrel jeans from George at Asda. And the best part? Nothing costs more than £40. Hamilton woman stars in Caledonian Sleeper's new campaign

Louise Burke, 43, from Hamilton, is the new face of the Caledonian Sleeper's latest promotional campaign. The musician, actor, and translator has spent years travelling across the UK and described the Caledonian Sleeper as a "lifeline" during her time at university. "I was always chasing trains, living out of a suitcase, constantly in motion. "My parents will tell you I was never still. "I'm probably one of the Caledonian Sleeper's most loyal customers, to be honest. "It's not anything like other train journeys you've taken - you can actually enjoy the ride and have that little bit of time to unwind, to reflect, and really experience the landscapes and culture of both Scotland and England. "I don't think I realised how much I needed that when my life was so busy." Louise came across the opportunity to join the campaign by chance, responding to an advert. Within days, she was plucked from for her daily commuter life and speaking with the production team. She said: "Within just two or three days, I found myself in a conversation with the production team. "They were really enthusiastic, and one of the first things they mentioned was how much they loved my smile. "That was a nice surprise, and it instantly made me feel welcomed and excited about the project. "I think what really stood out for me was the speed at which everything moved from the initial contact to being fully involved in the campaign. "There was a real energy to the process that made it feel like the right opportunity at the right time, and I couldn't be more excited to be the face of something that connects so closely with my own values around comfort and sustainability." The campaign marks a particularly emotional milestone for Louise and her family. She said: "My grandparents would be so proud of this moment. "They moved from Sunderland to Scotland to create a new future for our family, with my grandfather working in Tesco and my grandmother at the Bassetts factory. "Seeing myself front this campaign as a Scottish local and someone who used to take the Sleeper just to get home has been surreal and incredibly moving." The reaction from family and friends has been overwhelmingly positive, but it's Louise's train-loving nephews who have been most impressed. (Image: Supplied) She said: "They are mad about trains and just wide-eyed seeing their auntie front the campaign. "They have been full of questions. "They cannot quite believe it. "That has been the most joyful part of all. The Caledonian Sleeper has long played an important part in the lives of commuters like Louise, who hopes her full-circle moment will add a personal touch to its legacy. She said: "The Caledonian Sleeper stands as a proud symbol of both Scottish heritage and international connections". "To be the face of a national campaign like this, representing something so iconic and rooted in my own heritage, was, simply put, overwhelming in the best possible way."
