Ireland unveil T20I squad for Pakistan series
Gaby Lewis will continue to lead the side, with Orla Prendergast serving as her deputy.
The Ireland squad is bolstered by the return of off-spinner Freya Sargent, who makes her comeback after recovering from injury.
Fellow spinner Lara McBride retains her place in the squad after an impressive debut series against Zimbabwe.
The series serves as key preparation for Ireland as they gear up for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier, where they'll be aiming to secure a spot in next year's showpiece event.
The two sides have faced off 19 times in T20Is, with Pakistan holding the upper hand, having won 15 of those encounters.
However, in their last T20I series in 2022, it was Ireland who emerged victorious, clinching the series 2-1.
Speaking on facing Pakistan after a succesful series against Zimbabwe, National Women's Selector Ciara O'Brien said, "After a strong 5-0 series win against Zimbabwe Women across formats under new Head Coach Lloyd Tennant, it's great to be able to move so quickly into what will understandably be a much tougher assignment against Pakistan Women in Clontarf for this T20I series."
"With the upcoming matches, our preparation continues for the ICC Women's T20I World Cup Europe Qualifier in the Netherlands in a few weeks, so we're looking to see this latest momentum continued by the squad at Clontarf."

Pak-Ire T20I series to begin today
Pakistan Women's cricket team is set to begin a busy year in international cricket, which also involves two white-ball World Cups, on Wednesday, 6 August with the three-match T20I series against Ireland in Dublin. The series, fifth bilateral T20I engagement between two nations, will be played at the Clontarf Cricket Club with the second and third matches taking place on 8 and 10 August, respectively. The first ball is each of the three matches is expected to be bowled at 4pm local time. Both the teams have won two bilateral T20I series each since first taking on each other in a one-off T20I in Dublin in May 2009. In total Pakistan have won 15 out of the 19 T20Is against Ireland. Pakistan's squad arrived in Dublin on 3 August after attending a 17-day skills camp and five-day pre-tour camp at the Hanif Muhammad High Performance Centre in Karachi. 20-year-old batter Eyman Fatima is the only uncapped player in the squad, while Sadaf Shamas, who teared her left quadriceps muscle, was replaced by Shawaal Zulfiqar. Among other players, World no.1 ranked T20I bowler Sadia Iqbal will be looking to stabilise her position on the top with impressive performances. Ireland are coming into the series on the back of series sweeps in the three-match T20I series and two-match ODI series against Zimbabwe Women at home in July. Afg name preliminary squad for T20I tri-series
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Monday, announced a 22-member preliminary squad for the upcoming T20I tri-series against Pakistan and the hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the ACC Men's Asia Cup 2025. According to the cricket board, the preliminary squad, led by star spinner Rashid Khan, will partake in a two-week training and preparation camp ahead of the upcoming T20I assignments. The squad will be reduced to 15 players after the end of the two-week camp. For the unversed, the T20I tri-series is set to take place from August 29 to September 7 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE. Afghanistan will start their tri-series campaign against Pakistan in the curtain raiser on August 29. This tri-series will serve as a crucial preparatory event for all three teams ahead of the ACC Men's T20 Asia Cup, which is also scheduled in the UAE from September 9 to 28. The tournament will provide players with a valuable opportunity to adjust to local conditions before the continental showdown. Originally, Pakistan was scheduled to host Afghanistan in a bilateral T20I series in August. Pakistan beat West Indies by 13 runs to capture T20 series
MIAMI: Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub combined for a 138 opening partnership and Pakistan defeated the West Indies by 13 runs on Sunday to capture their T20 International Series. Pakistan won the series opener by 14 runs but dropped the second match by two wickets to set up a Sunday night decider at Lauderhill, Florida. After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Pakistan were rewarded with a powerhouse performance by Farhan and Ayub. Pakistan went 189 for four as Farhan hammered the hosts for 74 runs on 53 balls, smashing five sixes and three fours, while Ayub lasted 19 overs, finishing on 66 from 49 balls with two sixes and four fours. Last-ball hero Holder lifts West Indies over Pakistan in T20 Farhan was caught by West Indies captain Shai Hope at long off from a delivery by Shamar Joseph on the second ball of the 17th over. Hasan Nawaz entered but was retired after only 15 runs, caught by Romario Shepherd at long off from a delivery by Roston Chase on the penultimate ball of the 18th over. Mohammad Haris was run out for only two runs by Gudakesh Motie to start the 19th over and Ayub finally exited on the last ball of the penultimate over, Jason Holder's delivery grabbed by Sherfane Rutherford at sweeper cover. Alick Athanaze lasted 13 overs before being taken for 60, caught by Khushdil Shah bowled by Ayub with West Indies on 110, needing 80 runs off the last 42 deliveries. Chase was retired on the last ball of the 17th over and his replacement, last-ball hero Holder from the win a night earlier, was bowled out by Sufiyan Muqeem two balls later for a duck, leaving the hosts 41 runs shy with 16 balls remaining. Rutherford smashed a six to reach a half-century with seven balls remaining before exiting on 51 as West Indies couldn't pull off another last-over comeback.
