Pamela Anderson speaks out over claims Meghan Markle 'copied' her cooking show
Baywatch star Pamela Anderson has spoken out over claims that Meghan Markle 'copied' her cooking show.
The allegations emerged when t he Duchess ' Netflix programme With Love, Meghan, was released in March this year, just one week after Pamela's show, titled Pamela's Cooking with Love, aired on Amazon. The premiere of Meghan's lifestyle show was pushed back by two months after the wildfires in California.
Now, while promoting her new film The Naked Gun, in which she stars alongside Liam Neeson, Pamela was quizzed over the comparisons of their lifestyle shows. Appearing on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live programme, the show host addressed the viral accusations during a segment called Plead the Fifth. It comes after Meghan Markle's birthday 'gimmick' is quietly shelved after major mistake.
Cohen asked Anderson: "On a scale from one to 10, how much of a rip-off did you feel like With Love, Meghan was of your show, Pamela's Cooking with Love?"
Anderson, who appeared surprised by the question, replied: 'One – I didn't'. Pressing her on the topic, Cohen again asked: 'One? On a scale from one to 10, you did not see any similarities?'
Pamela answered with a laugh: 'No, I didn't really look, but I didn't invent cooking shows. She's just doing her thing."
Fans of Anderson's programme were quick to point out the similarities between the two shows when they first aired, noting that Anderson and Meghan both filmed themselves in brightly lit country kitchens, smiling and laughing with guests, while cooking aspirational meals alongside photogenic friends and celebrities.
In addition, both women were filmed carrying wicker baskets filled with fruit and vegetables from their gardens, dancing joyfully, and high-fiving their guests. Each series also ran for eight episodes.
Anderson is not the only celebrity who Meghan's new lifestyle brand has been compared to, as online commentators have also likened Meghan's brand As Ever to similar projects by Gwyneth Paltrow and Martha Stewart.
While Paltrow and Anderson have both been quick to shut down rumours of any beef between them and the Duchess of Sussex, Martha Stewart seemed to be a little more hesitant in her comments about Meghan.
During an interview with Yahoo Lifestyle, Martha said of the Duchess: 'Meghan I don't really know very well, and I hope she knows what she's talking about.'
'Authenticity, to me, is everything, and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important.'
Although a second season of With Love, Meghan is due to air later this year, recent reports have claimed that Meghan and Harry 's lucrative deal with Netflix will not be renewed when it expires in September.
With Love, Meghan failed to break into Netflix's top 300 shows for the first half of 2025, and was outperformed by multiple seasons of the legal drama Suits, in which she starred before she met Prince Harry.

Denise Welch finally does damage control after embarrassing Taylor Swift interview
Loose Women star Denise Welch was hit with backlash following her awkward US talks show interview where she hit out at her son Matty Healy's romance with Taylor Swift Denise Welch has finally responded to backlash following her appearance on a US talk show as she was accused of changing her accent. The Loose Women star appeared on Watch What Happens Live! with Andy Cohen last month where she spilled on her son Matty Healy's romance with Taylor Swift. When discussing The 1975 frontman Matty, Denise was met with backlash for sounding "more posh". She didn't hold back as she shared her thoughts on her son Matty's short romance with pop star Taylor, either. In a savage dig, Denise said: "Obviously, on pain of death can I talk about that episode, but not being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad that I lost." While many were taken aback by Denise's brutal words, others were more concerned about her accent switching between "posh" and "American". It comes after Denise broke down in the street with her son amid backlash. "So why has Denise completely changed her accent? She sounds so much more posh. Trying to impress I see," one viewer said. Another questioned: "What happened to her accent? WTF." Denise has now issued her own response as she returned to Loose Women. She was grilled by her co-stars Katie Piper and Nadia Sawalha, which prompted a strong response from Denise. She said: "You know, it really bugs me that, because in this country people go, 'Er she's lost her Geordie accent', I never talked like Gazza!" "I never talked like that in my life," she added, in a Geordie accent. "And then people say I was doing an American accent! Rubbish!" However, her co-stars weren't convinced as they told her she did sound American. In the end, Denise confessed: "I can hear an inflection there, and having said that, Lincoln knows exactly who I am on the phone to because apparently if I have spoken to a friend who is from Liverpool I'm going like that [in a Liverpudlian accent]. "And years ago my ex-husband Tim was doing a show in Australia and said to somebody, 'We've been here two days and our lass picks up the phone to someone and goes 'Hello?' [in an Australian accent]'." Despite the backlash, the TV star said she "honestly loved" appearing on the talk show and "couldn't believe" she was invited on. Denise was immediately asked about Matty's relationship with Taylor, and specifically, what she thought about the pop star's Tortured Poets Department album. Taylor, who is now dating Travis Kelce, is known to write songs about her high-profile relationships and fans dissected the album to figure out which tracks were written about Matty. Taylor and Matty were romantically linked for a brief period in 2023. Denise surprisingly said she was glad to not be Taylor's mother-in-law, with her straightforward comment shocking everyone in the room, including host Andy. She quickly tried to calm things down as she added: "Not that I have anything against her at all! It was just - it was tricky." Denise suggested it is difficult to comment on anything to do with Taylor, as her fans would negatively react to it. "She - listen, you're not allowed to say anything, and then she writes a whole album about it," Denise explained. The TV star said that Matty has taken the album's personal tracks 'all in completely good grace,' and added: "He's very happy with his amazing fiancée Gabriella," referring to singer Gabbriette. "So we've moved on."
