Jeremy Allen White Completely Transforms into Bruce Springsteen for a New Biopic
Jeremy Allen White has transformed from a chef to 'the Boss.'
The star of The Bear will portray living legend Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, The Pale Blue Eye). Here's everything we know about the film so far.
The film is based on the 2023 book Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska by Warren Zanes, which chronicles the making of Springsteen's sixth studio album, 1982's Nebraska. Rather than a full childhood to present-day type of biopic, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere will focus on this specific time in the singer's life.
Jeremy Allen White will star as Bruce Springsteen. Succession's Jeremy Strong will play Jon Landau, Springsteen's manager and record producer. The cast also includes Odessa Young, Stephen Graham, Paul Walter Hauser, Marc Maron, Johnny Cannizzaro, Harrison Gilbertson, David Krumholtz, and Chris Jaymes.
White has shared how he prepared for the iconic role. 'I've got a really talented group of people helping me train vocally, musically, to get ready for this thing,' he told GQ. 'I'm also really lucky [that] Bruce is really supportive of the film, and so I've had some access to him and he's just the greatest guy.'
He continued, 'Also, there's just so much footage. It's really great to go down a YouTube rabbit hole and find him at all these different periods in his life and be able to listen to his speaking voice as well as his singing voice. That's kind of been the deal, just listening to him a lot and watching him a lot. It's been really fun preparing.'
The film will be released in theaters on Oct 24, 2025.
Yes! On June 18, 20th Century Studios released the official trailer.
In an interview with SiriusXM's E Street Radio, Springsteen praised White's performance. 'Jeremy is such a terrific actor,' he said. 'He's got an interpretation of me that I think the fans will deeply recognize. He's just done a great job, so I've had a lot of fun being on the set when I can get there.' (Springsteen was spotted visiting the set in New Jersey last November).
He even had some kind words for White's vocals. 'He sings very well,' he added. 'And Jeremy Strong and Odessa Young, there's just a tremendous cast of people. They cast the film beautifully so, it's very exciting.'
This story will be updated.

The Best Showgirl-Inspired Movies to Watch Before Taylor Swift's New Album Drops
Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. Although the popularity of live showgirls has waned through the years, their iconic presence still looms large in our collective imagination. So, it's no surprise that Taylor Swift has tapped into their glamorous imagery and rich history with her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, which is due October 3. Fans will naturally want to immerse themselves not only in Swift's music, but also in her muse(s). Luckily, many other artists have been inspired by the ostentatious productions of Las Vegas, Broadway's Ziegfeld Follies, vaudeville, burlesque, and every other iteration of the showgirl, and there are many films out there dedicated to the art. Under the glitz, feathers, and coordinated ensembles, each individual showgirl has her own story to tell—just like Swift herself. As she recently explained on Travis Kelce's podcast, 'This album isn't really about what happened to me on stage [during the Eras Tour]. It's about what I was going through offstage.' Below are some of the best movies about the inner life of the showgirl (and other similar performers), and who she is both on stage and off. Scroll through for inspiration on how to shine in the spotlight, no matter what's happening in the wings. This campy dramatic thriller stars Elizabeth Berkley, Kyle MacLachlan, and Gina Gershon. It focuses on a young woman named Nomi Malone who hitches a ride to las Vegas to find fame as a dancer. The film's original NC-17 rating did not stop it from being frequently aired on cable with certain key moments censored for impressionable audiences. However, the movie does contain some extreme sexual violence in addition to graphic nudity, so approach with care. Watch Now on Hulu Set in Las Vegas, Pamela Anderson plays a showgirl who has to make some hard life decisions after her show of 30 years abruptly closes. The film, directed by Gia Coppola, co-stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Kiernan Shipka, Billie Lourd, and Brenda Song. Based on a wildly popular Broadway play, this classic film follows four actresses in a show beset with issues and bankrolled by a secret millionaire. The movie was produced in the heyday of the showgirl era, which coincided with the Great Depression, showing a pretty accurate portrayal of how people escaped their grim reality with spectacle. Watch Now on Prime Video Christina Aguilera should be enough of a draw in this classic story of a small town girl with big dreams, showing the world what she's got. (Of course, Cher and Stanley Tucci are wonderful additions too.) Tune in for the songs, stay for the cast chemistry. Watch Now on Apple TV+ American chorus girl Elsie Marina, played by Marilyn Monroe, catches the eye of a foreign prince while prancing on stage. Their encounter naturally leads to issues for them both, but with a surprisingly romantic conclusion. Set in Paris, this romantic and melodramatic musical stars Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor as two star-crossed lovers who inevitably come to a tragic end. But watching Kidman soar across the stage as the doomed Sabine is worth the ride. Again set in and produced during the Great Depression, 42nd Street follows a group of people trying to get a show up on its feet. While highlighting the challenges of producing such a collaborative work, the movie ends with a celebration of the showgirl over the rest of the team. Most people remember White Christmas as a holiday film about putting on a last minute show to save a very special resort in the post-WWII era. But before that happens, Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye meet Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen playing two sisters who make a living on stage. The movie's musical sequences will always be memorable, but the Haynes Sisters' act might be one of the biggest highlights. The Muppets have done a lot in their many decades on screen, but if there's one thing the merry puppets love to comment on, it's show business. The Great Muppet Caper is a comedic crime thriller, but the film contains a long and loving musical sequence honoring showgirls, starring none other than Miss Piggy herself. Watch Now on Disney+ You might consider Sister Act to be a fish-out-of water story about a woman hiding amongst a bunch of nuns and putting them on the map with musical numbers. What many forget is that Whoopi Goldberg starts her turn in the movie as a showgirl who gets sucked into mafia business and then witness protection. In a way, she makes the rest of her nun friends into showgirls, too. And the Lord approves. While she's not wearing traditional showgirl attire, Marilyn Monroe's turn as a gleeful gold digger singing 'Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend' remains an iconic entry into the oeuvre. The entire film is a delight and offers plenty of other stunning musical numbers. Gypsy Rose Lee is not exactly a showgirl—she dabbles more in the art of burlesque—but her story is arresting. The famous Stephen Sondheim musical was adapted for film and starred Natalie Wood as the child vaudeville star forced into the spotlight by her show monster mother (played by Rosalind Russell). The costumes are stunning, the music is catchy, and Wood is timelessly charming.

Inside Megan Thee Stallion's Dating History
Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. THE RUNDOWN When Megan Thee Stallion's music career started to take off, interest in her love life also intensified. Since her early days as a promising new rapper to winning three Grammy Awards, including the coveted Best New Artist trophy, fans have wanted to know who the rapper is dating. Here's what you need to know about Megan's dating history, from her new relationship with NBA star Klay Thompson to everyone she's dated in the past. Having collaborated on two songs—2018's 'Make a Bag' and 2019's 'All Dat'—Megan Thee Stallion and Moneybagg Yo began a romantic relationship. Megan went Instagram official with Moneybagg Yo in July 2019, posting a loved-up photo with her new boyfriend. However, by January 2020, the romance had ended, and Moneybagg confirmed the split during an appearance on Rap Life Radio. 'It didn't work [out] but I always wish her the best,' the rapper explained, according to The U.S. Sun. 'I'm really proud of her.' He continued, 'The Megan y'all know and the Megan I know are two different things. It's still love, no bad blood.' Having already engaged in a flirty online exchange with Trey Songz in March 2019, fans wondered if the pair might get together when The Shade Room shared footage of Megan with the rapper on Instagram in November 2019. However, Megan was quick to shut down the rumors on X, while confirming she'd only publicly dated Moneybagg Yo at that point, writing, 'Why y'all want me to be a 'hoe' so bad ? Lol I've only dated ONE person y'all know about all that other shit is RUMORS/LIES.' Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August 2023 after being found guilty of felony assault for shooting Megan's foot while leaving a party hosted by Kylie Jenner in July 2020, NPR reported. While it was initially believed that the two rappers were just friends, Megan revealed she had sex with Lanez 'once, maybe twice on a drunk night,' in her 2024 Prime Video documentary, Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words. 'As I reflect on the past three years, I view myself as a survivor, because I have truly survived the unimaginable,' Megan told ELLE following Lanez's sentencing in 2023. 'Not only did I survive being shot by someone I trusted and considered a close friend, but I overcame the public humiliation of having my name and reputation dragged through the mud by that individual for the entire world to see.' Collaboration brought Megan and rapper Pardison 'Pardi' Fontaine together. In 2020, the pair worked together on the 'Savage' remix with Beyoncé, and on Megan's hit duet with Cardi B, 'WAP,' per HotNewHipHop. Megan confirmed her relationship with rapper Pardi in February 2021, saying on Instagram Live (via Entertainment Tonight), 'That's my boo, and I really like him...I never said hot girls can't have boyfriends.' She also described her partner as 'so calm and so sweet and very protective.' Throughout 2021, Pardi and Megan were regular fixtures on one another's social media accounts. In April 2021, Megan wrote on X, 'Pardi really showed me what it's like to respect your partner...i used to be talking to people CRAZYYYY.' The following month, the 'Hot Girl Summer' rapper revealed just how much her relationship meant to her, writing on X, 'My boyfriend let's me be me [because] he confident I ain't going no where...I like that.' In May 2021, the two rappers made their red carpet debut at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, per People. In an exclusive interview with radio show 97.9 The Box in June 2021, Megan sang her boyfriend's praises, saying, 'I love Pardi because he is just so sweet. A lot of guys are scared to show their sweet side and Pardi is not that. He's very romantic and protective and he just makes me feel really protected. I love spending time with him because he makes me feel really secure.' Pardi defended Megan after she was shot and faced backlash during Lanez's trial. 'When you do find the courage to speak up it seems you will be ridiculed,' Pardi wrote on Instagram in December 2022 (via Complex). 'Your credibility will be questioned, your entire past will be held under a magnifying glass. In an instant you can go from victim to defendant in the eyes of the public. To anyone with a sister, mother, niece or aunt, I pray for their protection. I pray for their covering. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.' It's unclear when Megan and Pardi broke up. It was reported in February 2023 that Megan had unfollowed Pardi on Instagram. Subsequently, a poem shared by Pardi in May 2023 caused fans to speculate the relationship had ended. It was also suggested that Megan's song 'Cobra,' released in November 2023, referenced alleged infidelity by her ex, Complex reported. Soon after breakup rumors started regarding Megan's relationship with Pardi, the 'Cry Baby' rapper was photographed attending a wedding alongside Belgian soccer player Romelu Lukaku, according to The Daily Mail. The pair were spotted at the wedding of fellow soccer star Lautaro Martínez to model Agustina Gandolfo in Lake Como, Italy. The outlet reported that, at the time, both Megan and Lukaku were managed by Roc Nation, suggesting they likely crossed paths as a result. Aside from their one Lake Como date, however, little is known about whether Megan and Lukaku entered into a serious relationship. Megan Thee Stallion's romance with NBA player Torrey Craig was revealed in August 2024 when the rapper shared a TikTok video of them completing the 'couples challenge' together. They even answered a question regarding who said 'I love you' first in the since-deleted footage. The following month, Megan and Craig were photographed together for the first time when they stepped out during New York Fashion Week. January 2025 saw a mirror selfie of Megan and Craig go viral, along with a sweet snap the NBA star shared of his girlfriend on Instagram. The same month, cheating allegations began spreading, with Craig denying he'd been unfaithful, according to Sports Illustrated. TMZ reported that the pair split sometime in April 2025. Relationship rumors started circulating on July 9, 2025, when Megan shared Instagram photos of herself posing by a pool, with Dallas Mavericks player Klay Thompson lounging in the background. Days later, Megan appeared in one of Thompson's social media posts, their PDA seemingly confirming they were more than friends. The same week, TMZ reported that Megan and Thompson were officially dating. Megan hard-launched her relationship with Thompson on July 16, 2025, when the pair attended the Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala together in New York City. Speaking to Page Six at the event, Megan revealed, 'I have never dated somebody so kind. This is my first relationship where I've ever been with somebody who's genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy.' She continued, 'I just never dated somebody like him before, and I'm just grateful that he's here by my side, and he feels the same way about me.'
