ChatGPT's upcoming Image Styles could make it super easy to Ghiblify your images (APK teardown)
TL;DR ChatGPT is working on an Image Styles feature that would add a pre-defined instruction set to your prompt to achieve a specific image style in your results.
Users would be able to select from aesthetic styles such as 'Anime,' 'Cyberpunk,' 'Coloring Book,' and more.
These styles can be added as instructions for converting existing images or generating new ones.
ChatGPT's image generation capabilities are pretty nifty, and it's largely credited for sparking the viral trend of Studio Ghibli-fying your images. However, given the nature of AI image generation, users must know the right prompt to get the right results, which often isn't a piece of cake. Many users end up searching for the exact prompt to be used to get a specific style for their generated or converted image. ChatGPT could be looking to simplify this process by introducing Image Styles, allowing users to generate new images or convert existing images according to pre-defined styles from within the app.

When the feature goes live, users will be able to upload an image to ChatGPT and select one of these image styles to feed the attached description as instructions. Alternatively, there's also a text prompt version that creates a fresh image, though you will have to add more directions for the image as the built-in prompt will merely dictate the artistic look and style.

Survey reveals long time Verizon users are saying goodbye as bills climb and perks vanish
Edgar Cervantes / Android Authority Verizon is in the news for losing 51,000 postpaid subscribers between April and June this year and then doubling down by removing loyalty discounts and driving bills up. Ironically, the company recently gave away free concert tickets, gift cards, branded freebies, and more. Either way, customers are not amused by their rising bills, and unsurprisingly, many of you are looking to switch carriers. We received over 1400 votes on our survey, and almost 900 of these votes (~64%) are from users moving out of Verizon because of the bill increase. The comments on our article echo these sentiments. Android Authority reader hunnyeyes777 had been a Verizon customer for 25 years (!), but they have just moved out because of high pricing, no loyalty discounts, and poor service. Commenter musicachic is in a similar boat, bouncing out from Verizon after 19 years (!). Commenter shannacoates hasn't moved out yet, but they'll be leaving Verizon soon because of the rate increase. A good 8.7% of voters had already switched out of Verizon in the past six months, making them part of Big Red's recent subscriber bleed. Surprisingly, 9% of our voters are due for a higher bill, but they are staying put with Verizon as they feel they are still getting a good deal. 8% of voters aren't facing a price rise on their phone bills, so they are sticking with the carrier. That's about 15% of the votes in favor of Verizon. To wrap up the statistics, 10% of our participating voters are not recent Verizon customers, so they are unaffected by these antics. We're seeing similar strong sentiments on Reddit and X, with many long-time users blaming this price increase as the final straw that breaks the camel's back. A Verizon spokesperson had given us the following statement when the news broke earlier this week: To continue delivering the best customer experience on America's best 5G network and industry-leading services and tools that save our customers' time and money, we're making some adjustments. These adjustments are in line with market rates and allow us to continue to provide top-tier products and services with the vast majority of consumer customers seeing an increase of less than 30 cents. We value our customers' trust and are dedicated to bringing them even more value. It remains to be seen how this move has affected Verizon's bottom line and whether the company will reinstate the loyalty discount. Losing many of your most loyal customers has to pinch somewhere, but does it hurt enough for a rollback? Or is the company better off with a smaller subscriber base and higher prices? OpenAI's GPT-5 leaks, hinting at better math and coding abilities

GitHub accidentally published details of the upcoming model and its four variants in a blog, which was later withdrawn. The leak points to better reasoning and improved agentic capabilities that may also come to ChatGPT after the model's release. OpenAI's long-awaited GPT-5 models are expected to arrive very soon, and are likely to be available through APIs before ChatGPT. But a recent leak has spoiled the release, revealing some of the features we can expect to see with the upcoming release. Details about the GPT-5 were revealed through an accidental blog post by GitHub, discovered by a Reddit user (via The Verge). The now-deleted blog post spoke about GPT-5's leaps in reasoning, coding abilities, and the overall user experience compared to the existing GPT-4, GPT-4.1, and GPT-4o models. The leak revealed that the newer models offer better responses with shorter prompts, display clearer thinking, and allow for better collaboration with and assistance to all users. The webpage, which can still be viewed through an archived version, further details four variants of GPT-5, including: the standard GPT-5 model edition for 'logic and multi-step tasks,' GPT-5-mini for cost-effective deployments, GPT-5-nano for high-speed query responses, and GPT-5-chat for integration with multimodal chat-based workflows in enterprise settings. The leaked document also emphasizes better agentic capabilities in GPT-5, but does not reveal specifics. Notably, OpenAI released proper agentic capabilities to ChatGPT last month, with the option to delegate tasks and expect them to be deployed at the server end instead of your own computer or device used to interact with the chatbot. While there hasn't been an official announcement from OpenAI about GPT-5's release, the completeness of GitHub's blog post indicates the launch is around the corner. In fact, OpenAI recently posted on X that about a livestream scheduled for later today (i.e., Thursday) at 10 AM PT (1 PM ET). In the announcement, OpenAI replaced the 'S' in Livestream with '5,' strongly suggesting GPT-5's announcement. Despite the lack of details from OpenAI, co-founder Sam Altman has teased some of its capabilities. Recently speaking on Theo Von's podcast, Altman expressed the 'weird feeling' while testing an upcoming model. Talking about the test, Altman said that the AI quickly accomplished a task that they couldn't understand, and that made them feel 'useless.' In contrast, two early GPT-5 testers recently told Reuters that the leap from GPT-4 to GPT-5 didn't feel as massive as the previous upgrade from GPT-3.
