WWE cuts Tampa residency short, cancels NXT at Yuengling Center
WWE was set for a four-night takeover of Tampa this weekend at the Yuengling Center, beginning with Saturday Night's Main Event, followed by NXT's Battleground on Sunday, Raw on Monday, and a live episode of NXT on The CW on Tuesday.
But the schedule has now been cut to just three nights.

'WWE's NXT Live on the CW event, originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, has been canceled,' according to WrestleTix, which tracks ticket information.
The X account reports around 1,700 tickets were distributed for the canceled event. Saturday Night's Main Event and Raw are nearing sellouts, while Battleground has surpassed 6,000 tickets sold. Per the venue's website, the Yuengling Center is a 10,500-seat arena.
WWE's four-night residency in Tampa was part of a new initiative under its parent company, TKO. Last year, WWE President Nick Khan teased the concept of 'All-Star TKO Weekends,' a series of events featuring WWE and UFC in the same city. The first 'TKO Takeover' took place last month in Kansas City, MO. Over five days, the T-Mobile Center hosted events from TKO's newest property, Professional Bull Riders (PBR), a UFC Fight Night, and an episode of WWE Raw.
Tampa was going to be a WWE-exclusive TKO residency. But with ticket prices reaching into the thousands of dollars, it appears WWE and TKO may have misjudged fan demand.

WWE has yet to announce a new location for next Tuesday's NXT on The CW. However, the WWE Performance Center in Orlando appears to be the most likely option. Fans who purchased tickets for Tuesday's show should expect to receive an automatic refund within 14 to 21 days.

Omos Comments On When He'll Return To The Ring
The tallest Superstar in the current WWE roster is the Nigerian Giant, Omos. He has seen a lot of success in his short time in the Stamford-based promotion. He has not competed inside a WWE ring since April of last year. However, his last professional wrestling match was back in January at Pro Wrestling NOAH. While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on his Insight Podcast, Omos opened up about when he thinks he will return to the squared circle. The Nigerian Giant mentioned that he knows he is a kind of special attraction, and thus, he is just waiting for the right occasion. He also said that whenever the time comes, he will be ready. Advertisement 'I don't know. I'm just waiting. I'm kind of in a scenario where I'm kind of like a special attraction. Whenever that time comes, I'm ready.' Omos reveals what advice he received from The Undertaker During the same interview, the Nigerian Giant shared the advice he had received from The Undertaker. 'I've been blessed from the first day. I remember the first time I met him. I was at NXT, this is when we were still filming at Full Sail. I'm walking to Gorilla in the back, and I see Hunter. Hunter goes, 'Hey, I have a special surprise for you.' He [Undertaker] just walks out, and I rarely get star-struck. I just go oh it's The Undertaker! He goes, 'Hey big fella', and he just gave me a big hug. I was shocked. I was shook. Advertisement 'I couldn't believe my eyes, and from that day it just became like a bond. He's pretty much like a, because he can't be my dad, sorry Taker, but he's been such a great influence on me, and I appreciate him. We talk quite often. He gives me advice. Whenever I'm trying to figure out a match or a spot, I always ask, What would Undertaker do? Because I do admire how he's been able to transcend the business, because he has built one of those characters that, even after he passes, that character is going to be forever,' Omos said. Omos Reveals Why NOAH Run Didn't Last Longer
Why didn't Omos have a longer run with Pro Wrestling NOAH earlier this year? Back in January, Omos had a very promising month as a member of the Pro Wrestling NOAH roster and even captured championship gold. However, after a successful title defense on January 25, Omos announced that he was heading back to WWE and relinquished his title. Despite this, Omos hasn't been seen on WWE programming since. Advertisement WWE Superstar Omos recently spoke to WrestleZone via GamblingIndustryNews. When asked why his run in Pro Wrestling NOAH seemingly ended abruptly, Omos revealed the plan was always for him to only be there for a month. 'It was always the plan to spend one month there. I do hope I get to go back soon, but that was always the plan,' he revealed. 'I'm a married man, so being away from my wife for over a month was tough! I spent Christmas Day and New Year at home, then went to Japan for four and a half weeks. I loved it and had a blast in Japan, but still, I missed my wife, and I did want to be home, but I cannot wait to go back whenever that time comes.'
